Bought fully loaded new Warlock (5,7 and 3.92) in 2022. So happy with it. Well, interior would be nicer without plastic parts but that`s my only minor complaint. And I would still rather take plastic interior parts rather than etorque or start-stop. And the best part is that it is still HEMI 💪🏻🤠

this video was perfect timing for me, my current income doesn't allow me to buy new but I've seen alot of these used with very low miles and considerable price difference in some cases that had my interest, I haven't considered the v6 because I'm a hemi fan to the full, but as someone trying to start a small handyman business I was also told by a older gentleman buy the truck you need now to make the money to buy the truck you want.

I own a 2017 ram 1500 5.7 Hemi Lonestar/Big horn 2WD with 103,000 miles on it... and no major issues. I've changed the filters, oil, transmission oil (recently) and brake pads, rotors, spark plugs ,and this truck is just smooth on the road. I average 19-20 mpg, but I was always worried about reliability with the truck, because at the end of the day it is a FCA Fiat Chrysler product. I absolutely have 0 complaints from the truck. I will say the Hemi has the BEST exhaust stock sound out of any pick up truck. I never had the manifold bolts break on mine

Really like the video, I think you hit the nail on the head. I’ve mainly owned fords and when I was looking into getting something a bit newer I just couldn’t help but notice they were 20k more than a comparable ram. Well I ended up getting myself a used 2019 classic and so far couldn’t be happier.

i just used a 2023 ram 1500 classic slt for a week from montreal to miami (rount trip) and it was a beauty. i towed an 8000lbs trailer without issue, i put some heavy material in the bed weighing in about 1500 pounds and not a single issue. And it was fun to drive when it was empty. I swear it did 0-100 in 7 seconds. maybe less. but that rolling speed test is something else. it roars on the highway

I have a 2020 ram warlock 4th gen classic, absolutely love it, also have a 22 5th gen limited which at first had a bunch of stupid issues, mainly water leaks, such as 2 rear window leaks, roof antenna , and 3rd brake light, then i was blessed with passenger side exhaust manifold crack along with a few bolts. It's a Beautiful looking truck, but I'm hooked on my 4th gen due to the 5th always seeming like it was at the dealer more than my own driveway. Good review, thank you. An underlying theme when lifter failures are discussed is trying to reduce idling time. Due to the heavy traffic congestion everywhere, especially here in California, idling time is part of the everyday program. It can hardly be avoided here.

Have no complaint about my 2020 Ram 1500 Classic Tradesman 5.7 Hemi 2wd quad cab. 43,000 miles so far. Only 1 recall for the sideview mirror. Not hard to mod and simple enough to do most of the maintenance. Use proper octane fuel, do oil changes early with full synthetic, and don’t let it idle for too long. Averaging 16 mpg city and 23 mpg highway at 70mph on a good day. Was only $32k at the time, so not afraid to put it to work and get it dirty.

Hey ive heard about the Idle Issue. Why is that a Bad thing ? Just curious

    • @vr4787
      @vr4787 6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@JonathanLopez-vk5hm
It leads to lifter tick issues and warn down cam lobs since at idle your oil pressure is lowest and your oil isn’t circulating like it would during normal operation and the oil is breaking down quicker since it’s a lighter weight and idle temperatures are actually higher than normal use since you don’t have as much air circulating to help heat dissipation. If you have a fleet/patrol vehicle the oil changes have to be done more frequently based on idle time. More so if it’s a non-synthetic oil which a lot of fleets use to save on cost even though synthetic lasts longer and is recommended. Plus the 10,000 mile oil change interval is far too long, best to do it every 5,000-7,000 with full synthetic.

I've had a bone stock 2016 SLT going on 8 yrs and 155K KMs. I get around 13 L/100km with the 3.21 gearing. I had an issue where I was going through CV joints every year when it was new. That was fixed under warranty. Starter replaced 7 yrs 140K. On rare occasions, I've had the odd gremlin with the 8.4 Uconnect not turning on or having to hit the cruise ctrl button ten times to turn it on. I had puddle lights in the side view mirrors that stopped working after 4-5 yrs and fixing those was cost prohibitive. The cabs are notorious for leaking around the third brake light and other areas. Despite undercoating it every year since new, the paint is starting to bubble on the front fenders. I forget all of this stuff when I'm behind the wheel. I don't plan on trading it any time soon.

In my opinion, the Ram "classic" can be more directly compared to the newer Rams rather than the Ford or the Chevy, because as you've stated the meat and potatoes of the two are identical, so you're only paying (basically) for cosmetics in the newer Ram. The Chevy and Ford in particular are much newer with much more up to date and advanced drive trains and specs in general.
Obviously the rrp you have on the Chevy and Ford are no doubt over inflated. Realistically one would think they're less expensive(?)

we have a 2017 1500 SLT and love it. towed a 6000 lb travel trailer from ontario all around the maritimes several times, probably 40,000 km of towing out of 100,000 km in total. Zero issues/repairs, a new battery, new tires and the usual oil/filters stuff. it does have a minor manifold leak(tick on startup). Pretty sure it will need brakes soon!
one question for you though, regarding the transmission fluid. the level or visual condition cannot be checked as there is no dipstick. Should i be concerned? i have the trans temperature on the display all the time and even towing through northern new brunswick, the temperature has never gone up in the slightest. Should the fluid be checked/changed and what should it cost?

I like the Classic the best, better than the new style..
Ford even looks like the 2005 version of the F-150 you can clearly see its the same thing in aluminum and obviously minor body changes here/there but they look the same.I know Ford guys will deny it,but I own a used car dealer and have a 2006 on my lot in pristine shape and a 2022 on my lot..

The 6.2L Ecotec3 will eat the 5.7L Hemi. Oh by the way did I mention the silky smooth 10 speed. With my driving habits I get 21.5 mpg on the highway

2018 Ram 2500 6.4l put 180k HARD work miles on it with lots of idle times, heavy hauling, Oil and Gas lease roads. Lots of slow driving 12 hour days and all it had go wrong was a bad fuel pump at 68k miles. At 160k the radiator became clogged (never had a coolant service) also a clogged heater core. Coolant service yearly could have prevented that. Just got a 2024 same engine and so far good. I would NOT buy a 5.7l model get the 6.4l IT IS BETTER!

5.0 307 cubic inch Ford has the Coyote Tick more like a Rod Knock more issues per percentage than any Hemi tick! The Eco Boost issues too..
Thing is majority of Hemi tick is exhaust manifold bolts! I own a small on line and appointment only used car lot and bought 11 so far Dodge/RAM trucks that were to have failed lifters and cam due to knocking..Turns out it was the exhaust manifold bolts, some were so bad it knocked loud even when warmed up! Not saying the lifters dont eat the cam,yes lots of people have that issue too...Damn shame new engines do this..Toyota has their issues too kids!
So needless to say I made an easy $10,000 on those trucks after changing all exhaust manifold bolts and some new manifolds and still made 10k plus each,as they thought the engine was shot, gotta know when you do you do! All but one were bought at auction one was local,I tried to tell them but they didnt believe me..

Hi there how are you? I know that you’ve been doing new truck reviews but how about a 2010 F250 with the triton v10 in it. That was the last year Ford put that engine in there normal street trucks and anything after that was F550 and higher until 2019 I believe. My point is it had some good power numbers 362 hp and 457 lb-ft. I would just like to see a overall review on that beast Bod an engine thank and have a good day.

So ur not gonna talk about the notorious rocker arm failure in the 3.6 there almost worst than the hemi tick. They happen more than the hemi lifter failure. As a mechanic ee have them coming in more than the hemi. From the charger and 300 and thr jeeps and trucks. And theres no preventative for the rocker arms. At least the hemi if u do your oil changes every 5k u wont get it until like 200k miles. The 3.6 ive seen them from 40k miles to 130k miles.

The reason why the classi lc is still in production is its the same basic truck as the HD trucks. The "5th gen" quadcab is the same dimensions as the "4th gen". The only real differnce is in the Crewcab length. The added 4" in length to the cab and the chassis(wheelbase). THATS IS IT. Quadcabs are the same. The the front suspension has different control arms, and the front structure(under the fenders) is not there on the classic. The proof is right in front of you. Take the 5th gen interior and fit it into the 4th gen and you get the HD. The HD skin changed but the cab structure amd chassis didnt. It is the same basic vehicle as the 4th gen. I can get 9.4l/100km on my 500lbft 3.5EB. The worst part of GM and Ram trucks are the rattles in the doors. A 3.6 is reliable???? Dry starts, rocker failures, 6500rpm peak HP. 5 of my friends have gone to ram classic and traded off within a year. One truck had 5 Uconnect replacements in that time.
