  • PROBLEM:
AC STARTED BLOWING SOFTER AND WARMER THAN NORMAL
    TEMPERATURE STARTED GETTING HOT
NOTICED THE RADIATOR FAN WASNT ACTIVATING
50AMP UNDER HOOD FUSE WAS BLOWN
TRIED SPINNING RADIATOR FAN BY HAND AND IT WAS EITHER STUCK OR
MOVED SLOWLY- IT SHOULD SPIN FREELY
DISCOVERED FROM MY RESEARCH RADIATOR FAN GOING OUT IS A COMMON PROBLEM
    DIAGNOSIS:
RADIATOR FAN MOTOR IS CRAP! PURCHASE A NEW RADIATOR FAN VIA AMAZON FOR UNDER $100 WITH SHIPPING
I PURCHASED MINE FROM OREILLYS FOR APPROX $260- IN DECEMBER 2019- LASTED FOR 2 MONTHS
LUCKILY THEY EXCHANGED IT FOR FREE

@@tanteu03 sure it helped, I watched your video a couple of times and today I replaced my fan with no problem. The only difference is that i found easier to retire the old fan by the passenger side rotating it a little bit.

Hello and thx for your video. Could you please tell me about part number of new fan - is it OEM factory or i can buy the better fan then factory? Please share with us part number or new fan. Thx a lot and greetings from Ukraine.

Thanks for the video! The O2 sensor, is it the upstream or downstream? i was thinking about replacing it while I have it out

Cool! Glad it helped! Regarding O2 sensor. Those are usually the upstream but from my research they don’t seem to be a problem. I haven’t had to change mine

Thanks for posting I'm about to replace my dealer installed fan with what looks like the same one you removed! How is that new fan holding up?? Thanks!

how did you know it was broken? I think mine might be broken (2016 renegade) because I never hear it run, but I don't know how to confirm for certain if its broken or not?

I would first try: while the car is off- physically turn the fan and see if it’s spins freely- mine was stuck and wouldn’t spin like a regular fan blade; secondly you could try turning on the car and the heater and fan to full blast to see if it activates the fan; lastly I would check the fuse. Hope that helps

Hi, I decided to buy used a Jeep Renegade Trailhawk and I'm interested in is it the usual problem? Radiator fan removal 😕

From my research and responses here. It seems to be quite common. I’ve changed mine now 3 times over 4 years and keep a spare fan just in case. It’s cheapest from amazon
