I spent over 1 hour or nearly 1 hour trying to remove the oxygen sensor connector. No offense, but your connector looks too clean. I nearly destroyed mine trying to undo it.
The heat shield rubbing against my forearm nearly cut my arm to shreds.
Relatively the procedure was simple, and I want to thank you for your video. From all the ones that I watched, this was the most informative.
I can't believe that the whole thing is made out of plastic, and it's only hanging on from two clips on the sides.

Really well done...all info accurate. Took task slow and replaced my fan, and found another as well, then tackled that. You might be able to crowbar it out in a Renagade, but must take on the O2 sensor if you have a 500X. Thanks DIYguy

I was running short on time today, so replaced my fan without removing the O2 sensor, heat shield or anything. I used a BIG pry bar to bend the fan to get it by the O2 sensor and wire. Don't blame me if yours breaks. :D Thanks to all the details of this and a couple other vids it actually went pretty smooth. Thank you DIYkindofguy!!! The dealer wanted $600 to replace. I bought off ebay for $140 w/free shipping.

My dealer wanted $458 for the fan and $490 for labor! I found the fan new for $116. I also had to buy a sensor removal wrench. $9. Spent most of the night doing it and it worked!

Outstanding. I have been searching for a video to watch on how to replace the radiator fan on my wife's 2016 500X and wondered why all I found were videos for Jeep radiator fan removals! I watched your video and instantly realized that they are the same motors AND the same engine compartment so your video was perfect. Thank you! P.S. You should edit the video title to include the Fiat 500X.........more people will watch it as my dealership said they are replacing these fans left and right.

Check with auto dealer for factory recall!! I have a 2015 Jeep Renegade that cooling fan needed replacement, at less than 50,000 miles. As I was searching internet for repair videos, it seemed it is a very common part failure for low miles. I did an internet search for recalls for this vehicle, came up with nothing. As I was price checking price of fan assembly to do the repair myself through parts stores, I also price checked at the dealership. Just for the hell of it, I asked them to check and see if there was a recall on this. They said there was, they performed the replacement, at $0 cost to me. Couldn’t believe it. Definitely check with your local Chrysler dealership first.

Recently did mine ended up unhooking the coolant hose from the radiator and just moving it out of the way. Finally got it out. Was way super easier to put back in. Just slid into place

I got a MOPAR voucher sent to me to take to dealer to fix for gratis. Let's see if it works! BTW I suggest a CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT. Who's with me?

Is this problem related to the current recall based on fan bushing problems? Did you ever receive that notice?

They said removing the oxygen sensor is not a good idea. That it melts and won’t go back on the way it should. Did you experience any problems with the sensor so far? What do you put on it when you put it back. Someone mention you have to put some kind of grease etc on the threads before you screw It back in? I couldn’t get the name of it. Did you happen to open the bad fan to see what it looks like? Another guy did that and the whole fan motor was burned just completely burned. I think the fan is getting fried from that heat shield area over time. I hope you got your replacement from FCA? They put a metal backing to the fan motor. Geee I wonder why. Other aftermarket replacements don’t do this. So those of you who use aftermarket fans you might be having to do this again. I have a 2015 trailhawk with 25,000 miles. So far nothing has happened. I took it to the dealer when I first found out about this problem when I noticed the fan not turning but they checked it and said it only turns on when it has to. He told me “we couldn’t get it NOT to work”. Now my 3 year bumper to bumper is gone and I’m trying to see if I can do it myself if it happens. I just don’t want to f up anything else like that o2 sensor I mentioned. I seen people remove it with no worries like you did. Ooook I guess I will do that when the day comes.

Has the issue happened to you yet? Also did you get a straight answer on the O2 sensor?

You all could have had the Jeep dealership do the placement for free, they were recalled (V54 Recall) regardless of years or mileage.

The fan went bad before Jeep came out with the recall, plus fans from the dealership were on backorder at the time
