  • This video shows you how to replace a worn out passenger side engine mount which causes a vibration while idling in gear. This video will work for the 2.4L engines from 2015 thru some of 2017. Mopar redesigned the motor mount in 2017 so you may have the updated engine mount if your vehicle was made after January 2017.

    Thank you for posting this video. I was stressing about having to do this because I just kept picturing the engine getting way out of alignment when I removed the mount. I literally watched your video and went out and replaced the mount in under 20 minutes.
    Because you were so helpful, I'll let the loud music slide. 😆

    quite helpful. I have started noticing a vibration when a turn the ac on. It sounds like its coming form the back on the vehicle but after some research it seems to be the mount. Very simple video. thank you

    Thank you for the video. I always check youtube before doing a repair, because many times someone has found an easier way to do the job. Exactly as described, I had to buy the sockets, best to find out before tearing into the job. Other than that super easy job .

    I have a 2016 Jeep Renegade with 105,000 miles. This issue/vibration just began last year, but has progressively gotten worse and more irritating this year! I've ordered the part (now $232) and I already have the E-socket for working on my BMW GS 1200, so hoping to resolve this issue very soon. Thanks for the very helpful video! It will save me money :-)

    Appreciate you sharing the video I do have a few questions.
    I noticed you didn't use a torque wrench when you were putting the bolts back in. Are torque specs not really needed for this type of repair? Also what about blue thread locker?
    I have access to the service manual for the 2015 Jeep renegade. And in it are three specific torque specs for the right passenger side mount.
    Right engine mount bracket bolts - 74/ft. Lbs
    Right engine mount to frame rail - 44/ft. Lbs @45°
    Right engine mount to engine mount bracket - 66/ft. Lbs @45°
    I'm stumped figuring out which bolts apply to which torque spec.
    Any advice?

    • @TheNudnikNation
      @TheNudnikNation  8 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I don’t think the torque specs are super important, just make them all “good and tight”. That being said, there are only 2 types of bolts I’m aware in this repair. Engine to mount & mount to frame.

  • @chanisemills3912
    @chanisemills3912 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    I was told by the dealership that one of my mounts needed to be replaced, but they will only replace if you do all 3. Dumb question, but I checked my passenger side engine mount and it doesn't have the "line" or appear to be coming away from the rubber. Are the top mounts the same on both sides of the engine?

    • @TheNudnikNation

      It has to be an E14 socket. That is the correct socket for that bolt.

    Hi, im own one 500x 1.4 multiair, my mechanic say the cause why my car shaking is the partially collapse of the engine mount but why when is cold i feel this vibration everywhere inside the cabin and when is warming up don't shake anymore but i can earn small noise on the engine ?? Thank you 😊

    • @TheNudnikNation
      @TheNudnikNation  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      There may be multiple causes, I suggest starting with the engine mount & then re-test.

  • @marvcabatic2044

    Does the bolts need to be torqued after installing the new mount?

    • @TheNudnikNation
      @TheNudnikNation  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I'm sure they do but I personally just torque them "good and tight". I bet you can Google the transmission mount torque specs if you want to do it right.

    • @marlonrando9080

      Generally, the only complaints I have seen about repeated failure is with a single mount being replaced. Both the driver and passenger mount were redesigned. Generally the third mount on the bottom is fine.

    You really should wash that engine regularly to remove that kind of dirt. Believe it or not that dirt will find its way into your engine, transmission and differential. Make cleaning the engine bay part of your maintenance routine. Mine still looks brand new even after 49000 miles.

      @@housebaelishgaming , I just use a regular water based degreaser solution. I spray it all over the motor and engine bay taking care not to wet electrical items too much. Then I wash it off using a garden hose. To dry I use a small air blower. It works really good. I'm not too worried if the alternator got wet. The important parts like bearings are sealed. no water will get in. To make the plastic and rubber parts like hoses look nice and black I just spray them with armorall. There are many products out there that will do a good job.
