I see I'm not the only one having this problem lol. Thanks so much for the video. I'm about to order the new fan now and rewatch this when it comes.

Thanks for the video. I watched your video to learn any issues or problems you had replacing fan before I did mine today. Very helpful video and I got my fan replaced and running just under a hour. Mine is a 2016 renegade trailhawk. The clips holding fan in is just a push tab on the top two hold downs. I used a flat head slightly pushed and lift fan out way easy. Don't gotta force it or them tabs will break off.

Hey man, this video helped a lot. I was honestly about to just bring it into a dealer because of how nightmarish I thought it'd be to just replace the radiator fan. It has only been a year since a new fan was installed under warranty and the thing still blew. Cheers guy.

Thanks for this! (16 Renegade) I was stuck at the fan being wedged on the Header cover. You vid gave me the incentive to pull it off. I tried to get by without pulling off the O2 sensor, that didnt work, it needs to come off to make room for the fan also.
I learned, you want to use some pieces of cardboard between your fan housing, and ac radiator, so it doesnt get marred up. So on reinstall, i put some cardboard in there, and pulled it out after done (wish i had some in there before removal though). I also broke the wire clip lock, getting it out with the screwdriver, be careful with these, they are easy, but also easy to break. I used a zip tie on it to make sure it stays mated.
By the way, i definitely wasnt bringing it to the dealer, i was just worried i was going to have to pull off the top rail there, or the bottom one, or some hoses (arghh). Did NOT want to drop the water either. So worked out pretty good. Wear gloves, yes! Things are sharp there.

I am having all sorts of problems with my 2016 Jeep Renegade trailhawk ... first the fan burned out, the ac not cooling properly then the 4wd don’t work and to top it all off the leather in all 4 door panels have lifted 🥺 .... this car was supposed to last me a good 6 to 7 years I am so disappointed at its performance

I think the fan is a normal thing, easy to replace, once you've done it, or takes less than 2 hours(tool tracking down time included) if not. Need a 7/8th wrench, or 02 sensor socket, a 10mm 3/8th drive short socket, or wrench, small flathead for clip removals of the two separate wire clips, needle-nose to pop ac lines off, large flathead to press the top fan housing release clips in, or use your fingers, lift, shove left, twise counter clockwise, extract through the top, i had to flex the top lip of the fan housing first to get it carefully wedged over the front rail bar, after had that for an inch, then just pulled it up, till it was out.
Putting back in is the reversal, put in some cardboard to protect your radiator fan, watch ac lines, you need to pry them forward as you shove fan past them, clockwise twist, snap in.
Hope you had fun, im sure its done by now?? :-)

The container with car will arrive in a few weeks, and I dont know in whaht condition cooling fan is. On what mileage you faced with this problem?

@@lowlifegarage9367 ...I had a 2017 Latitude 4x4, traded it in December 2019. The engine and transmission constantly ran hot...some idiot engineer thought it was a good idea to cover the front grill in plastic...kinda hard for air to circulate sitting in traffic. The Z9 transmission doesn’t have an auxiliary cooler and is unserviceable...I did watch a guy drain and refill the the transmission with Amsoil full synthetic, he said it helped the shifting issues.

Its funny you say that. Two reasons, one german is supposed to be good stuff, darn. Two, is because when i pulled out the old one, it was the same fan. Either someone already had to replace this with mahle aftermarket, or the factory already had a mahle in there, but the mailorder i paid about 97 shipped, was also a mahle. In all fairness, our fan burned out because the batter terminal cover was stuck in it, was forgotten to be put back on, and costed a fan, fan housing, fuse, and couple hours labor. What a piece of shite! An old american 350 small block would have ripped right through that plastic when you fired up the engine! This little fan smoked up, couldnt handle being on, and not moving. It lasted for months, eventually into limp mode, then diedj last week finally. I had smelled burning plastic first, while it was in limp mode, so thats a clue that the fan is melting down. German stuff is supposed to be better than chinese crap!!
