    Swapped my BMW GSA for this 8 weeks ago. Just back from 2,500 mile trip around Europe, fantastic bike.

    John ...fantastic review as always and spot on about the indicator ...but it's a small price to pay.
    Buy at Christmas and you will get new 14500 with the tech pack.🙂👍

    Interesting comment about the 890 and 1290 Quickshifters. I have both an 890 Adventure and 1290 Super Adventure S. I find the quickshifter to be equally silky smooth between the two. No complaints about either. :)

      Both great bikes..I can only say as I find on the perticular bikes I ride....thanks for watching

      @theloftybiker3090 I get that. I know they have to be synchronized. Whenever I get the walk-around video after a service they mention how they synchronized the quick shifter. I also have a 690 Enduro (yes, a lot of orange in the garage) that I do need to get in for that. It downshifts fine with the quickshifter, but upshifts are not so great. :)

    Great review… however I feel you did yourself an injustice by sticking to street mode… sport mode and even better Rally mode is really what makes this bike 👍😎👍

      I was going far too fast in street mode....not enough road to use the power....the engine is far too awsome for Cornish roads 😅🤣😂Wonderful bike

    Nice review John. Ive had off-road KTMs in the past which have been good, but the road bike always seem to have electrical gremlins - on a £20k (when specced up) tourer? No Thanks. Booked my 1200 RS in to have the retro-fit Hill Start Assist - being done in July. Saw your vid & comments on the RS forum. Loving the RS - 220 miles yd, 120 mile td - feel as fresh as a daisy. I do agree.....KTM and the Friday bikes, strange how some are totally unaffected and go forever without a problem and others have numerous problems. Ducati sorted it, surley KTM can?

      I had a KTM 1290 SAS. Thousands of miles through France, Wales and northern England over three years with not even a hint of an issue. Incidentally, I stayed at a biker camp in France - the owner says the most common bike that has problems during a stay is BMW GS. As it happened the only bike that had an issue in our group during our trip was also a GS. The truth of the matter is the more electronics you have the more likely you are to have issues - especially in the damp conditions of the UK.

      KTM reliability issues fake news put about by TH-cam influencers???? I’m sure J D would be over run with repairs if poor reliability were true and they sell a lot of bikes.

    Just come back from a test ride of this bike. Comfy seat but on the higher level, my feet still flat on road. The pegs seem set further back. Got a lot of vibration through the handlebars. It seemed like there was no air in the tyres. The engine was a bit gravelly like a tractor. My five year old KTM 1090 adventure which is on 64000 km. No vibrations, seat height is greater as am on toes when raised, even smoother engine. Was very disappointed with the 1290.

      Very interesting view from a KTM owner! The last Big KTM I rode before this was the 990LC8....I felt the 1290 was in a different league. I also felt it was far smoother than the Multi Vee twin.....Might be worth trying another dearlers bike?

    • @martynlewis6445
      @martynlewis6445 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, that's what I thought. There is a main dealer in Malaga, might try theirs. I think I will test the tyre pressures though. It felt like I was riding on the wheel rims at one point. I am a big tall guy like yourself, so I like the comfort. Your honda is a nice bike, I might try a test ride, cheers.
