There’s no such thing as moving on from the death of a love one. All you can do is be strong, and live on. Whenever I hear someone say move on in response to another persons grief it sounds as if they want you to forget and let go of the love that person gave you and the love you had for them.

Time doesn't heal anything because 7yrs later I still remember that fateful day as if it was yesterday smh that empty void can never be filled...you just learn to live without them. Same here. My mum has terminal cancer. Two weeks ago the oncologist told us that she likely won’t make it to this Christmas. I know a lot of the times the estimate is wrong, but you still never know. I am in so much paranoia, fear and stress over what this year may bring.

I lost my mum twelve days ago, and buried her two days ago. She’d been deteriorating from alzheimers for a long time, but was aware of our presence until the last day. I was with her the moment she died, and I’m grateful that she wasn’t alone at the end. For all of that, I’m struggling to accept that I’ll never speak to her over the phone, or see her at lunches with her partner. She’s been there for 42 years and now she’s gone and I just can’t comprehend it. I know I’ll adjust and come to terms with it eventually, but right now it just feels… wrong. My Mom passed away last Thursday evening. It was very unexpected. Never got to say goodbye. She was the one person I would talk to on a real level everyday. Its just not the same without her around. Its like a bad dream that never ends. I am not married yet, or have my own children. But it is going to be hard times when those moments come up in life. We just had her funeral yesterday, and that was very hard, especially for my little niece. They were both very close. It is going to be hard to deal with life without her around. I miss her so much! She was not just my Mom, but also my best friend. She was always so loving, nurturing, and proud of us. So many upcoming plans we wanted to do together and places we wanted to visit. She was taken away far too soon and I will always miss her.

I hope you're doing better Britney. Sometimes it takes losing a parent to realize who is really important in life and it can be a good test to see who's really there for you. So many things happen after a parent dies, as if the loss wasn't enough pain. Sometimes siblings never talk to each other again after parents or a parent dies.

We were about to get her to hospital when she suddenly went unconscious on the couch. I lost my mother August 16th 2016. She was, and always will be the one thing that devastated me when she passed away. She suddenly had a massive heart attack at Bradgate Park near Leicester. My mother was walking up the hill, and was out of breath, and said to my brother, "I will climb this hill even if this kills me". She just went there, and then. my memories are of her when she took me to school, and had to leave me on the bus as I looked back in tears. She was kind, loving, most stubborn, and would do anything for anybody. My mother kept everybody together, (I have 2 brothers and 1 sister we are all only 5 years apart in age), and to this day I have never felt pain like it ever. Its just that I feel like the old life that I always new is gone, and the new life?.. its a bit like that film, "Is A Wonderful Life", where the guy wishes he was never born. It feel a sense of relief knowing I am not the only one feeling this way after losing my best friend, my mum. Thank you for reminding me how lucky I was to have had her as a mother. We tend to forget this during grief…lots of love everyone during this difficult time.
I lost my mother to cervical cancer this past February 11, celebrated my 26 birthday on march 27 and it is definitely a pain that doesn't go away. It dulls down, but the agony comes and goes in waves.
I lost my mother to Covid. This seems so surreal as I write this. One day she was here, the next she was gone. Nothing prepared me for this and nothing will be as traumatic as her passing. My worst nightmare came to life. I miss her so much every day. I can't wait for the day when I see her again.
If you're watching this for the first time after your mom died I'm sorry I wish I could take the pain away, it's not fair and you don't deserve to live with this pain. Sadly, it doesn't go away, but you learn how to live with it. And you will carry her with you in your lowest pits and your greatest triumphs. And if she loves you, she'll be there right by your side, smiling at you proud of the person you've become. Just know you are not alone. And be sure to talk to people about it and surround yourself with people who love you.

You have every right to be angry that she's gone, to be sad, or anything else you might feel. I am so sorry that your mom is gone. My mom passed away 4 days ago. And, you know what? I talk to her. Just like praying to God. You can do that too! Or you can write a letter, telling her everything you would say as if she were here. My heart goes out to you. Take care.

There’s no such thing as moving on from the death of a love one. All you can do is be strong, and live on. Whenever I hear someone say move on in response to another persons grief it sounds as if they want you to forget and let go of the love that person gave you and the love you had for them.

Losing my mother was the hardest thing I ever had to go through. People say that time heals everything but I don't agree with that statement. Time doesn't heal anything because 7yrs later I still remember that fateful day as if it was yesterday smh that empty void can never be filled...you just learn to live without them. I lost my mum twelve days ago, and buried her two days ago. She’d been deteriorating from alzheimers for a long time, but was aware of our presence until the last day. I was with her the moment she died, and I’m grateful that she wasn’t alone at the end. For all of that, I’m struggling to accept that I’ll never speak to her over the phone, or see her at lunches with her partner. She’s been there for 42 years and now she’s gone and I just can’t comprehend it. I know I’ll adjust and come to terms with it eventually, but right now it just feels… wrong.

My Mom passed away last Thursday evening. It was very unexpected. Never got to say goodbye. She was the one person I would talk to on a real level everyday. Its just not the same without her around. Its like a bad dream that never ends. I am not married yet, or have my own children. But it is going to be hard times when those moments come up in life. We just had her funeral yesterday, and that was very hard, especially for my little niece. They were both very close. It is going to be hard to deal with life without her around. I miss her so much! She was not just my Mom, but also my best friend. She was always so loving, nurturing, and proud of us. So many upcoming plans we wanted to do together and places we wanted to visit. She was taken away far too soon and I will always miss her.

I'm crying, just the thought of my mom dying breaks my heart. i don't even know what i'll do without her. She means the world to me, i can't live without her. She is always there for me when i'm upset,not feeling good, and if i need something she tries her best to get it for me. I just want her to be happy and to live a happy life until her time comes. Shes my best friend ever. i'm totally giving her lots of hugs and kisses and telling her i love her all though i already do that everyday.

It’s been almost 1 year since I lost my mom. She passed away in September of 2020. Almost 1 year and everyday is still hard, still painful. Even writing this down feels surreal. I feel like I haven’t been able to breath since that day. I’ve been really trying my best to heal and overcome all the burdens, all the problems in my life, but it’s really hard. I’m just so broken. I miss her so much. I miss my mother so so much.
If your mother is still in your life, please treasure her. Treasure her everyday. Live each day as if it could be your last one, don’t fight with her, don’t let your last conversation be a bad one. Make her feel loved and tell her how much you love and appreciate her. Please, take care of your mother. Please, tell her you love her and hug her. I can’t do these things anymore, but if you can, please… do your best

I lost my mom 8 days ago. It’s the most pain I have ever felt. Losing someone at 39 is just heartbreaking because you know that their life ended way too short. He’s 18 and although he has a good job he wasn’t planning on moving out until the spring so he’s very lost right now. and because she was so young it was so unexpected. i’ve been there for him and will continue to do so but it’s so heartbreaking. I hope i’m doing enough.
I hope you're doing better Britney. Sometimes it takes losing a parent to realize who is really important in life and it can be a good test to see who's really there for you. So many things happen after a parent dies, as if the loss wasn't enough pain. Sometimes siblings never talk to each other again after parents or a parent dies.

I lost my mom last April and it's hurts a lot. That morning she woke me up and said she had a difficulty to breathe. We were about to get her to hospital when she suddenly went unconscious on the couch. I tried everything that i can to wake her up eventhough i know im going to lose her.. even when the paramedics told me she was gone, I couldn't believe it at all. It was too sudden i wasn't prepared. So, if your mom still here with u, please appreciate them. show them and tell them how much you love them everyday.. you wouldn't know when will God take her from u. I don't have that chance already and I'd do everything to have that again if I could.

She always pushed me to never give up and when she get really sick I would help her not to give up. Been really hard. She passed Aug 22, of this yr. I do miss her hugs. She was indeed very strong! I just wish I spend more time with her then being away from her.

I lost my mother August 16th 2016. She was, and always will be the one thing that devastated me when she passed away. She suddenly had a massive heart attack at Bradgate Park near Leicester. My mother was walking up the hill, and was out of breath, and said to my brother, "I will climb this hill even if this kills me". She just went there, and then. my memories are of her when she took me to school, and had to leave me on the bus as I looked back in tears. She was kind, loving, most stubborn, and would do anything for anybody. My mother kept everybody together, (I have 2 brothers and 1 sister we are all only 5 years apart in age), and to this day I have never felt pain like it ever. Its just that I feel like the old life that I always new is gone, and the new life?.. its a bit like that film, "Is A Wonderful Life", where the guy wishes he was never born. When that guy walks down the streets everything is different. That's how life feels like to me now. I believe in God and one day who knows. But I try to be strong. Thanks everybody for sharing here. I'm a 12 year old boy. My mother passed away a month ago, after fighting cancer for 3 months. I still didn't really overcome her death, because she is my own mother. Nobody can replace her. Despite this, now I feel better about it, thanks to my friends and my other family members. I always know that my mother isn't really gone. She is always there, inside my heart.
I deeply regret all my bad actions that I committed. All those words I said. All those desrespectful actions. She was a strong woman. She never cried in front of me, always smiled and always listened to my opinions. Although it seemed like I didn't like her, I always knew I loved her, deep down inside of me.
On the day she passed away, I cried for a solid hour. My aunt cheered me up, by saying that my mother wouldn't want to see me like this. She would always want to see me strong.
I really miss my mother. The first thing I would say to her if I saw her again would be: I deeply regret my actions. I apologize. Thank you for all the support. I love you, mom.

It feel a sense of relief knowing I am not the only one feeling this way after losing my best friend, my mum. Thank you for reminding me how lucky I was to have had her as a mother. We tend to forget this during grief…lots of love everyone during this difficult time.
I lost my mother to cervical cancer this past February 11, celebrated my 26 birthday on march 27 and it is definitely a pain that doesn't go away. It dulls down, but the agony comes and goes in waves.
