I was in Joe's radio class for two years in high school and I can genuinely say he's one of the best teachers I've ever had. He lets students explore their passions, be themselves, and have fun. The best thing about him is that if the student is energetic and wants to learn, Joe will reciprocate that same energy 120% back. I wish this video showed more of how he is in person
Joe is currently my radio teacher and he’s truly changed my view point on many things. He cares about his students and allows them to constantly chase their passions!
@@ramen9141 we basically learn how to produce news stories, podcasts, and interviews all on the radio. We also learn how to edit recordings and how to produce live recordings as well. We learn how to use a recording room and the do’s and don’ts of the FCC. It’s a really cool class that basically allows students to put their name out there for colleges, and if they ever want to make it in the production industry
I was an anxious kid who used to stutter. I still remember my music teachers laughing at me after I struggled to put a sentence together at age 12. This memory stuck with me for the rest of my life! I then had a sociology teacher during my two final years of school who used to encourage me, praise and motivate me to always do better. She used to send me small emails congratulating me. I am now a lawyer and a large part of my job is talking, so I sometimes find it hard to believe how much life has changed all because of one teacher. Without her, I don't think I would even dream to pursue the career I have now.
I recently sent a thank you note to one of my college instructors who was an amazing teacher. He wasn't even a professor, but a graduate assistant in a class I didn't even really want to take -- macro economics. Even so, it sticks out as one of the best classes I took. I tracked him down at another university and sent him a brief email thanking him. He seemed touched that I took the time to do that. Doesn't take much to be a bright spot in someone's day.
My girlfriend is a teacher and earlier this year she received a letter from a student telling her she changed his life. I’m so proud of her! All it takes is one good teacher to help a kids life.
this is so sweet to hear a significant other appreciate their teacher s/o. I hope many other people dating a teacher feel the same! its hard work that we do, but we do it for the kids.
"I don't ever want a student to suffer in silence" murdered me. I emailed a professor in my university saying that I wasn't coming to class that day because I wasn't feeling mentally well and asked if I could have an extension on one of my projects. Being a party school, I could have just made that up because I was hungover or something. He didn't have to believe me. BUT he gave a week extension on all of my projects and gave me a list of phone numbers if I needed to talk to anyone. He was a competitive runner and always did marathons, but he recently broke his ankle and said he used these phone numbers to get him out of his depression. He for real didn't have to tell me that he understood or give me extensions or have a list of phone numbers for me, but he did and I appreciated it so much. By far my favorite teacher I've ever had.
Hello sir, I will be a teacher next year and I'm wondering do you have any advice for me. I'm stressing a little bit so having some advice from you may help.I hope you're doing great ❤
Thank you all for what you do. It means so much. My fifth grade teacher legitimately changed my life. I had no idea what I wanted to do when I grew up, and she pulled me aside one day and essentially told me, “I think you’re supposed to be a writer, dude.” Never occurred to me. Now, it’s all I wanna do. I bumped into her in my early 20’s working behind a cash register. I was actually kind of embarrassed, but she was just proud of me for being me. That warmth was still there. That warmth makes all the difference in the world. 🖖
@@PYasco 1. Be YOU. Some things work well for one teacher, and won't work at all for other teachers. Kids can also tell very quickly if you're putting on a facade, and they hate it - particularly teenagers. 2. Set the bar high, but never be unwilling to work with those who can't meet high standards. Kids who are challenged can surprise you - and more importantly, they can surprise themselves. Don't let them just go through the motions. (Bloom's taxonomy is your friend.) At the same time, realize that no matter how they try, there are those who will not be able to meet truly challenging goals. Encourage these students and make clear how important their effort is and how much you respect that they're making it. 3. Constantly learn. You never know when a new piece of information will help you to understand things, or to teach more effectively. 4. You're not teaching the subject - you're teaching how to think. It's not going to matter in 20 years what specific books kids read, how they did on their math test, or if they can remember the GDP of Luxembourg. What WILL matter is that they've learned how to find information, assimilate it, and use it to reach their goals. Skills are vital. 5. Be fair. Kids will break rules and screw up. You can't take things personally - just enforce the rules fairly, no matter how much things might seem like an attack on you, and no matter which kids are doing it. Don't hold grudges against kids who have screwed up in the past - when the discipline has been taken care of and the accounts are balanced, be willing to let them start over with a clean slate. Students who have discipline problems will often respect someone who treats them fairly but makes sure they follow the rules. It makes them more willing to try to follow the rules when they know the rules aren't arbitrary, and they aren't going to be judged forever on the basis of a single mistake.
I had this teacher named ms Kim in kindergarten she always made school fun I was underweight as a child and one day I broke my leg I was too small for crutches and too small to push my wheelchair so I couldn’t go to school anymore I was going to have to repeat the grade but every day after school ms Kim came over to my house and brought me my school assignments not only did she come over she even sat with me and brought school to my home I hate that teachers aren’t paid enough or treated good now because if there was anyone who deserved to be paid well and appreciated for their value it was ms Kim I hope someday I can find her and thank her she was the only good teacher I ever had and I don’t think I ever got the chance to thank her
Same here. Bawling. So devastating that anyone ever feels that much pain and that others could be so fucqing cruel. I'm so grateful her teacher made her feel safe because the thought of how bad things could have turned out makes me cry even harder. Hope you're okay, Brandon. ♥️
Fr tho, teachers deserve more credit. Not even in a million years would I become one, it’s always grading, lesson planning, not getting acknowledged & a lot of them are also underpayed
"You sparked that idea that I'm worth more than I think I am" That is so powerful and so sad at the same time. I hate the fact that some kids think this way.
I will never forget when my 5th grade teacher Ms.Saechao gave me my first referral ever for being a bad student. I remember thinking to myself “man she must hate me now” and it struck more fear not seeing her until the next day. I was nervous to approach her but when I did she said “new day, new feelings” and gave me the biggest smile. Ms.Saechao I always think of that line whenever things go wrong and I’m having a bad day. 2 quotes that I live by “new day, new feelings” and “just a bad day, not a bad life”
That poor old man looked like he was going through some things himself. He was offering his student an ear and couldn’t even look her in the eyes. He really needed to hear this letter. I hope all the teachers and students in this video and all over the world can have someone that makes them feel special.
@@PeacePham1991 That's what I got from it. He genuinely looks like he feels he could've done more, but this will only make him a better teacher/person.
How you know he’s going through a lot , how does his looks tell that , is that what he told you ? maybe that’s his normal look , y’all reading meanings into things you see on the outside.
I mean I get the reasoning but this could also just be how he speaks to people as well (as you've seen from the other comments). I make this point because I speak like that too. Seems like you're staring off into space.
So moving that that wonderful teacher saw and gave and saved that young man's life. The young man really is a sweetheart. So glad someone was able to see that and to bring it out. This is God's work, folks.
She absolutely does have a voice for broadcast. The deep, rich tones carry so well, she naturally projects. The speech impediment isn't even noticeable unless you're really looking for it.
I once had a student come to me and say that I helped him through depression and suicidal thoughts. He told me this when I myself was going through a tough situation and it was something that I will never forget. Sometimes we cause positive impact in other people's lives just by being who we are.
My husband is a teacher and I've heard countless stories where students came to him crying - in crisis - panicked. I am always so proud of him when I her him speak to his students and they express to him how he made them feel better. More confident. Teachers - the good ones who are there for the sole purpose of helping their students - are unsung heroes in my book!
Honestly I know CUT is edgy (in a good way) and progressive, but man I crave these videos that are just about human love. I wouldn’t mind if you guys just focused on these kinds of vids for a while. Like if this month is just consecutive videos of kids thanking their teachers? Absolutely fine by me! The world has recently proven to be such cruddy place, this stuff genuinely brightens my day.
yes!! i need first generation kids thanking their immigrant parents, more teachers and students, honestly i’ll even take a show and tell from random toddlers!!! gimme the good shit!
i have a rlly good teacher but whenever it try to talk to her a little voice says in my head im not worth listening to why do I even try? i do try and tell her but i dont want to burden her
I’m in Teacher’s College currently, and although I’m just starting, what was said in this video I can relate to 100%. You spend hours upon hours preparing lessons, marking etc. all in hopes that you’re providing the very best learning experience for your students. It can be so draining at times but all it takes is for ONE student, ONE student to acknowledge the effort, and all of a sudden all those hours are worth it. Thank you, cut, for this video.
I just finished studying and now got my first ever own class last week and I feel so insecure 🙈 I wanna give them the best chance at learning but it’s so hard … I feel like I can never do enough … I guess with time comes routine and with it I will hopefully feel a little less overwhelmed 😅 but moments like these in the video, that’s what I wish my students will once feel about me
I'm 24, just started teaching a few months ago. At first it was so hard and exhausting preparing all those classes, I even considered giving up, but it took a single comment from one of my students that 'I'm the best teacher she ever had' , to keep me going. And just yesterday another one of my students, a little kiddo, when I came to the class, came to me and hugged me. Honestly, it made my heart soo warm and I thought to myself that THESE are the reasons why I should keep doing what I'm doing.
My elementary teacher noticed that I didn’t have a sweater in the winter and never had a snack for snack time. She made a rule that she would bring snacks so no one felt left out. And when I needed it she brought me clothes that her daughter could no longer fit. I saw her at a gas station last winter and I got to tell her how much what she did meant to me. And that I’ve always appreciated her for not making me feel bad about my situation but just finding solutions. As much as I understand that these were small things, it meant the world to me. Teachers really do make a difference. ❤
Teachers are honestly so under-appreciated and under-paid. There are some teachers who are just asshole but there’s so many more teachers who students take for granted. Teachers have so much respect from me ✊
Are teachers in America really underpaid? In my country.. esp if you have a masters degree.. your pay is super high and it keeps on increasing every few years The more you become a senior, the higher the pay
@@music_fanatic8753 Teacher pay in the US largely varies depending on the state/district. There are some where teachers are basically making minimum wage and others where they make 6 figures.
@@music_fanatic8753 Not from America, but from my experiences teachers in the area are severely underpaid. Some of the teachers who taught me shares personal stories from time to time if ever we finish up early and they mention being underpaid in passing. It's really unfortunate because those teachers put in the effort and work to see their students achieve their goals and beyond.
Growing up with my mom as a teacher, I know first hand how important black educators are, and even more than that, how hard working and dedicated they are. They hear and see black students differently, love on them even when they are “bad”. Thank you Mr. Washington for changing that young mans life. Love goes so much farther than punishment
YES! we need more black and brown teachers. representation, care, and love. "Love on them even when they are bad" girl yes. theres always a reason for "bad" behavior, it takes a person who cares to listen/notice.
@@roseirez5833 bc ppl like you are comfortable ignoring race solely for your benefit. I’m a black person appreciating and celebrating black teachers. and i don’t need your permission to do that, nor do i care about your feelings.
TEACHERS your job isn’t just your job. You may be someone a kid doesn’t have at home. You may be the support they don’t have. You may be the only love they feel in their childhood. Be kinder, more supportive and more understanding of your kids. We need more kindness in the world.
_I'm German, so this is a greater deal than in America because we usually don't share as much feelings openly._ A few days before my graduation, I wanted to tell my favourite teacher how thankful I was. I was freaking nervous but I did it and I think it was the best thing I could have done. I still remember quite vividly... the smile she had on her face for the entire day, the heartfelt "thank you" and what she said: "This really made my day." It was just one sentence _(it was more than that but one sentence summed it up; that she was my favourite teacher)_ for me but to her, it meant so much. 2 years later, I got the chance to work at my old school for a day _(as a paramedic, on a day, where we showed the kids different organisations from fire department to paramedic work)_ . I talked to all (the ones I liked and had a good relationship with) my teachers and thanked them, since I gained a lot of confidence in the last 2 years. I already saw my favourite teacher in the hall two times and she instantly recognised me and smiled. I still waited for her to finish her lesson and the first thing I said, when she had a chance to talk, brought back the smile from 2 years ago: "I can't be at my old school without properly greeting my favourite teacher!" *Words can impact someone I ways many can't even imagine.* *Chose them wisely.*
Thomaselli was one of the most memorable teachers I had during high school. She has a way of making you feel seen and capable, I'm so happy to see her receiving some love!
Mrs. Thomaselli was the best chemistry teacher! It’s lovely to see her in this video! I remember going through depression and abuse at home, and no matter what? She held me accountable. Due to that for the first time in my life, I scored a 107% on a mid term. I had never been the top score because of my depression and poor work ethic.
I love that story. I had a bumpy upbringing and low expectations of myself too - sometimes it's a beautiful gift when somebody else helps you rise up by seeing potential and expecting things if you nobody has before. ❤
I prepared a speech for my comfort teacher at my graduation but she wasn’t there.. a week later she died. It still feels so unreal and horrible. I wish I could’ve told her everything I felt in my heart. I’m forever gonna be thankful. rest in paradise
I sort of know what you feel, I wanted to tell my old teacher about how awesome he was and see him in person, but I found out he had self terminated. I was so upset.
As a teacher, this hits right in the feels. With so much going on in the world, students are hurting/struggling for countless reasons. If I or any other teacher can create a space where students can feel appreciated, seen, and heard, then that is what it's all about.
I’m sitting here crying because immediately one of my teachers came to mind. I wish I could express to her how much she’s helped me and I’ll always be grateful.
Me too, my English teacher just understands me, one of my teachers was creepy and I was so uncomfortable I couldn’t go into his class without wanting to cry. I told her and started crying and she went out of her way to make sure I didn’t have to be in that class and I’ll forever be grateful for her.
Seriously the perfect day to see this. Teachers are running on fumes right now. My school has so many staff out sick right now with zero subs. Today I had my class (K-2 Deaf Ed), pre-k, a hearing 1st grade, and 5th grade. One of my students didn’t show up until lunch time and immediately assaulted me and the principal. My one moment to plan (my lunch) was spent trying to deal with that. Immediately after school had to lead an hour long meeting. And then mentor a new teacher for the next 2 hours after that. All that being said, hearing your students come back 10 years later and saying thanks or even just being important enough to come and visit means the world.
I have a relative who's a HS teacher. Couple of years ago she had a student come back to see her. He's now going to a big university on a scholarship and came back to tell her how much he appreciated her pushing him and encouraging him. She said there's no better gift a teacher can get then to know she really made a difference in a kid's life.
Thank you for this video. I’m a teacher, and TH-cam keeps recommending to me videos about teachers quitting. I’m so happy this came up instead. It made me think of students who have come back to thank me. Just having some proof that all my efforts and planning and worrying and trying have created something positive is the best reward. I loved seeing other teachers experience this, too.
Hello, I just wanted to say that I appreciate you! Being a teacher is not an easy job, but it is so meaningful and impactful. Thank you for your time, patience, energy
I had a professor this semester who just sat and listened while I cried. I talked and she told me that she was there to listen and that’s all I needed. I wish I knew how to express to her how she kept me going through my second last semester of university.
I cried in my professor’s office in my last semester in undergrad. 😭 He wanted me to incorporate something in a paper and then, before dismissing me, asked me how things were. I just bawled and he was great about it. We talked about music after I was starting to feel better.
Nicole was a student teacher at this school (where she currently teaches) when I was in high school. She was like a beautiful breathe of fresh air in the world of science and was a great example to many of the girls in our class that we could go into the STEM or medical field! Although I didn't ultimately choose that path, I'm thankful for her presence that year I was taught by her! :)
The reason why many of us teachers continue to stay in low-paying teaching jobs with often unsupportive administrators, a lack of resources, an expectation that we pay for our own supplies, an often lack of parental support, and frequent lack of respect all around is because of the students. We care about you. We want you to succeed and be happy. We stay because of you.
Before I left high school, I wrote a letter to my three favorite teachers and read it aloud to them. They were three of the kindest people I had ever known, and they saved my life. I was suicidal for most of my time in high school and they gave me the hope and self-esteem to keep going. I cried while reading it. It felt so amazing to show them the love and appreciation they deserve, and I hope they will always, always remember that they changed and saved a life. Teachers make such an incredible impact and they deserve to be thanked a thousand times. ❤
People who have had great teachers are truly fortunate. Having someone outside of your family offer support and kind words, helping them to overcome challenges, must be an incredible experience
I NEVER cry. I can’t even remember the last time I cried. Yet Joe and Molly specifically brought a tear to my eye and choked me up. I can tell Joe is a sweet soul inside and out. Not saying these other incredible teachers aren’t of course. Joe just really hits home and reminds me of a teacher I once looked up to as a father.
All teachers are the true stars. Teachers can never be impacted. Their impact and hearts of kindness continue to echo from generation to generation. Hope is still alive. It is not over yet for anybody, and one caring teacher is enough to save any student who is on the fridges. 🙂🍃✍️
There is nothing in this world i want less than money, and there is nothing in this world I want more than to have a positive impact on even a single person like this. Teaching is a beautiful thing and it shapes our future generation having teachers that can have such a large impact on others.
I just started working at the same school district of the high school I went to , and the teacher that helped me the most is still teaching and he made me want to become a teacher and help and let my students know they are heard and understood
That's so awesome!! I'm a junior in high school right now, aspiring to become a teacher. Everything you just said has been my dream for quite a while now. In the past year, one of my teachers changed my life and he's inspired me to want to become a teacher. One day, I hope to come back and teach at my high school along side with all the teachers I've gotten close with!
The teacher saying that the kid inspired him to pursue his masters degree made me cry 😭😭 one it’s so sweet to think a kid can make a difference and even just the thought that I somehow impacted a teacher when I was in school is crazy and beautiful :,)
I am totally touched. As a nearly 30 years old guy with mental health problems from 18 years old, this video let me think of my high school English Mr.Huang. If I had not gotten the words " I think you will be good at your Chinese national college entrance exam" from him, I should have dropped out. Now I am a graduate student in the U.S. Thank you to my great English teacher.
You can see the difference in the way the the female teacher interacts with her students. Facing them, talking about life, etc. But with the male teachers stood straight forward with limited contact. All care extremely deeply but the way the express it is polar opposite.
I feel this on a whole other level. In my junior year I was uprooted from my home town to a new town. Both my parents had passed away and I was put into a new school with no familiar faces. I had 1 teacher that asked me to hang after class and talked to me because she knew I wasn’t in a good mental space. We got to talking and she literally saved my life, I had no drive to wake up everyday, and she helped. 12 years later we still text and keep each other posted on our life events. Teachers really are unsung heroes.
I had a teacher in middle school that noticed i wasn’t like her other students. She sat down with me and learned I was suicidal. I wish I could find her and tell her how it was nice to know that she cared enough to actually talk to me
Unknowingly my 2nd grade teacher would changed my life 10 years later when she asked me to live with them (I was living out of my car). She show me what a real family looks like. She’s the good mom i never had and I’m forever grateful. Teachers do make a difference
I’m literally in tears. I’m a teacher and like she said, it is hard work and a selfless job. A lot of time our hard work goes unnoticed, so it’s always great to what positive feedback and acknowledgment from students and families
As a future teacher, watching a video like this makes all these years of hard work worth it. I cant wait to graduate soon and begin this incredible journey. All I want to do is make a positive impact on kids’ lives. I really hope I can make this happen
"It doesnt matter what anyone else tells you, what matters is that you are doing what you love to do! Never stop because we need more people like you" thats one thing that will stick with me my gym teacher was amazing and i will never forget him
2:58 Oh god that’s so moving. I can imagine that the teacher is feeling very very proud. That’s so sad what the kid went through though. Makes me love my father even more because many kids don’t have that.
There’s so few teachers now that actually genuinely want to teach. Most are there just to have a job or to coach. My 8th grade English teacher completely changed the way I saw school. I absolutely dreaded going and hated to be there but she honestly is like a mother to me. Everyone deserves a teacher like this.
Teachers can be true gems! My sophomore year Chemistry teacher saved my life. She was the only teacher that year that asked if I was okay when I wasn't. I was doing awful in her class, not a student I felt she should show any mercy or care to, as I was so apathetic to life, but she still cared enough to reach out. I am so grateful for her!
As a teacher this is what we dream of. It’s why we do this. Everyone says “if I can just change one life” and when it happens it fills your heart. I taught 10th grade history and my 2nd year as a teacher I had this kid that came from a broken home, drugs around him, being bullied, I don’t wanna get into how I helped him because it’s his story, but man it has to have been 15 years later I get a letter in the mail. It has pictures of him and his husband, he’s telling me how if it wasn’t for me he wouldn’t have made it through to the end of that day and now his life is full and he’s happy. I’m not a person that cares about possessions that much but I’ll always keep that letter and those pictures in the top drawer of my nightstand
I agree. Sometimes I feel so tired and I'm always broke. Parents have a lot of demands and don't realize how much it requires..I kept all the letters I received from students. It honestly meant a lot to me, and I want every student to feel loved and supported. I could not manage to have my own children, but every child I teach is my child.
We had a couple of teachers like that. One was our biology teacher - incredibly sarcastic and "I just want you to know biology" guy. He didn't have favorites but he also didn't disadvantage anyone - he treated everybody fairly and equally. Because of him, the whole class managed to get accepted to med schools (we were a medical-oriented class) with high grades. Some teachers are just out of this world
I’ve had a few teachers like him, most had favorites clearly or just weren’t likable but very few were actually passionate about teaching and treated everyone equally plus understanding 😊
As a teacher aide who plans to becoming a teacher , this right here is encouraging… Mr.Washington was right sometimes we never know if what we’re doing is making a difference in someone’s life but this right here proves that it does ..I always look back to this video to remind me why I wanted to be a teacher..thank you 🙏🏼💯
Teachers can be just absolute pure gold to some people. Lonely, unseen, troubled people who sometimes literally have no one to talk to or to tell them they have worth. There were times in my life that I was that person. To all the teachers I was lucky enough to encounter who saw a spark in me…Thank You. ❤
I’m crying. Some teachers are the absolute best and they deserve so much more than what they get. Having to work with kids from all different backgrounds & still be able to inspire is absolutely phenomenal. My all time favorite teacher back in HS passed away from cancer, but he was the absolute BEST teacher anyone can ask for. When any of his student was having a rough day, he would allow them to relax in his classroom and hang out just to make us feel better.
This made me ccrryyy because I immediately thought of my biology teacher in high school. I was in class & I was having a horrible mental health week. In the midst of the classroom being in complete chaos I guess I looked really disassociated & sad. She pulled me outside & asked me what was going on because I usually look engaged despite me being the quiet one & I just burst out in tears & said “I don’t know”. She offered to call my mom & I said no because I knew my mom wouldn’t understand. I will never forget the tight hug she gave me. When I looked at her she looked like she was going to cry herself. I will always appreciate & remember her for her attentiveness & compassion 😭.
my freshman year i had started playing sports for the first time in years because of a blood disorder that kept me from being able to. i was overweight and had severe confidence issues. i was put on the offensive line. my first week of practice was horrible. continually getting put on my ass and just getting demolished. there was one coach who was the main o line coach had told me something. he told me to stop looking at the ground lift my head up stick my chest out. and just work. every day i worked harder and harder. the exact line was “stick your head up puff your chest out. be proud that your a pioneer.” that one day has changed my life more than anything ever has. thanks coach chesh.
My teachers picked on me called me stupid and lazy. I was so depressed and thought about suicide. Teachers have such a big impact please make sure yours is a positive outcome. Teaching is so important. Be nice to everyone. Even the not smart kids. The kids struggling in the back row. The kid to scared to say the answer. The kid who is cheating on a test. The kid who you think is a troublemaker. Every kid deserves a good teacher.
this is why a wanna be a teacher. to have the opportunity to see kids every single day and teach them incredible stuff can change their life, sometimes school is the only place where they can run away from their problems
Dude that blonde girl has impeccable style honestly.... She's got a real Mitch hedburg vibe and I dig t. F. Outta it.... Every kid needs one of those teachers they can look back on and think they changed you whole perspective. ❤️❤️ Thank you teachers ❤️❤️
i regularly try to send my teachers emails towards the end of the year, regardless if i truly participated in their class. the fact that they taught me math well or was the only class i could go to mid day means a lot to me. even the fact that they not only learned my name so fast but say hi to me when i see them in the hallway is enough; especially as a student who started off freshmen year with the notion that i’d be alone in this new school with no one. i’m in the 11th grade now and i’m happy that these teachers proved me wrong. in school, teachers are the first people that will recognize your potential and then help you expand it. it’s one of the reasons i myself want to be a teacher. we need to thank them more, they do alot for us.
I would honestly love to see a video like this where it's teachers who had a greatly negative impact on someones life as a student, and the student finally gets the chance to stand up for their child self
I had the best teacher my sophomore-senior year of high-school and she genuinely changed my life and helped me through some of the hardest times of my life. She still calls me every once and awhile to check up on me and we talk for hours even 5 years after I graduated.
I'm a teacher and there's so much paperwork and extra things to do... that we're not paid for. I also teach at a tough school and pretty much get a lot of attitude for just being an adult lol. Sometimes we're so stressed out, we don't realise or notice if we are actually helping an individual the best we can ;( so this was very sweet.
I spent a good amount of years working in the public school system; with middle and high school students. 1 days during my prep hour I had a student named Max using my room to take a makeup test; as he has missed the day his peers had taken it. Max was never 1 of my students but he still knew me and I knew him. It was a small town school in central IL. I remember him mid test looking up and saying: Mr. Cooper. Do you wanna know why every student in this school loves you? I responded by saying: well max, you’re supposed to be doing your test but yes, please tell me. And then he said: weather it’s the smelliest kid in the school OR the most popular kid in the school, you treat everybody the same. 💔💔💔 FML. These words wrecked my head and heart. They still swim through my existence nearly 15 years later. So much that when I interviewed for the current role I am in; doing medical social work.

The day I retired, there were several letters like these in my mailbox. They almost made me want to continue teaching. Almost. 😉
High five from one crying teacher to another. ❤
@@PYasco 1.

A few days before my graduation, I wanted to tell my favourite teacher how thankful I was. I was freaking nervous but I did it and I think it was the best thing I could have done.
I still remember quite vividly... the smile she had on her face for the entire day, the heartfelt "thank you" and what she said: "This really made my day."
It was just one sentence _(it was more than that but one sentence summed it up; that she was my favourite teacher)_ for me but to her, it meant so much.
I still waited for her to finish her lesson and the first thing I said, when she had a chance to talk, brought back the smile from 2 years ago: "I can't be at my old school without properly greeting my favourite teacher!"

This comment is so sweet, He is really an incredible person and teacher!
That sounds beautiful🥰
Thank you to my great English teacher.
ngl I almost cried because I would love to do this with my fifth grade teacher. the love and appreciation I have for her is just unexplainable.
Please, write a letter to let her/ him know, whenever you are ready of course. It will mean a lot.
You can see the difference in the way the the female teacher interacts with her students. Facing them, talking about life, etc. But with the male teachers stood straight forward with limited contact. All care extremely deeply but the way the express it is polar opposite.
As soon as she said that “That’s a voice for radio” and how that changed her life made me start crying
I wish I could find her and tell her how it was nice to know that she cared enough to actually talk to me
Have you asked the school if they have a forwarding address?
Three great teachers.
Three students who gave something back.
We should seek moments like this more and more.
Unknowingly my 2nd grade teacher would changed my life 10 years later when she asked me to live with them (I was living out of my car). She show me what a real family looks like. She’s the good mom i never had and I’m forever grateful. Teachers do make a difference
Legit cried, highschool was terrible for me, but it’s teachers like these that helped me through it.
You will. Best of lucks to you!
You're gonna be great 🙂
me tooo!!
Teachers don't get paid appropriately when it comes to monetary value, so make sure you tell them the impact they have. It's obviously appreciated.
"It doesnt matter what anyone else tells you, what matters is that you are doing what you love to do! Never stop because we need more people like you" thats one thing that will stick with me my gym teacher was amazing and i will never forget him
This is so wholesome, they deserve all the love 😭😭❤

Oh god that’s so moving.
With the poor pay and disrespectful students can you blame them?
You are a blessing in the children's lives.THANK YOU❤!
Some teachers are just out of this world
WOW, THE WHOLE CLASS? AMAZING!!!❤
I’ve had a few teachers like him, most had favorites clearly or just weren’t likable but very few were actually passionate about teaching and treated everyone equally plus understanding 😊
What a great biology teacher you had.
Honestly that young guy got alot of heart, im glad he got a good role model
CUT is killing it with the wholesome AF content lately! More of this!

I’m a teacher, and I would absolutely do anything for my students. Moments like what these kids are doing make up for all the bad days.
Hey Doris :) I'm pretty sure that some of your students are really happy to see you in class. Hang in there and stay strong
I thank you from the bottom of my heart❤️
I’m not a teacher but I’m so proud of these students and the people they’ve become 🥲
And when I made it to the last phasing of interviews, knowing this role would be setting me up to assist a variety of people, in a variety of scenarios, when the upper management lady asked me: Cooper, why should we hire you…. i took a second to think about it, smiled and then I said…. Max. Which led me to tell the story) she smiled so brightly and now I’ve been in my role for 5 years.
Honestly, this makes me want to become a teacher. I want to be able to make lessons fun for students while also being someone a student can come to when they are suffering. I wanna be there for others.
Teaching is truly the biggest burden but best reward I’ve ever felt. It truly means the world to me I see students say, “You made a difference.” This is why 20 years later I’m still doing it. I could have tapped out easily but these kids make it damn worth it.
