The way Gummigoo expressions shift when Pomni mentions his name, first is surprise she knows his name, then shock and then he becomes sad and tries to reach her with his hand. And later when she goes out to talk to him as he is leaving, he makes a sad expression and the song that played when they were bonding in episode 2 plays, really makes me think he remembered her. She seems to have noticed it too, and just let him go instead.
See, I got a different feeling from that scene. His expression, especially how his eyes slightly shift to the door then back to her, make it seem like a more uncomfortable/anxious "oh this weird stalker girl is here again."
The split second conversation between pomni & jax is super interesting. He actually asks how she's doing and she almost is open until she realizes who's she's talking to and quickly clams up. For the first time, Jax is open about feeling crappy and says "see ya" in a chill way, which is odd (& pomni looks confused about it too) bc he treated her like a person rather than a tool for his own entertainment.
Jax is not a bad person he is just like me he cant take this seriously and acts like its all a game Even i dont feel bad about npcs in gta and use any gun in street
he most likely acts like this because this episode definitely played on his weakness of relying on others to entertain himself, he’s been traumatised by the experience and can’t find joy in anyone else’s suffering in this adventure
@unknownfunkymanNot to mention that unlike other adventures, there is legitimate consequences to failure, he cant do his usual nonsense cause otherwise shit will happen to him
I actually really like how Pomni wasn’t the one who comforted Gangle at the end, instead it was Zooble. Pomni did comfort her just before that, but Zooble was the one who really helped Gangle with her depression. Not only is the friendship between Gangle and Zooble just really cute, it makes the digital world of The Amazing Digital Circus feel like a world filled with real people rather than a world that revolves around Pomni
Even though Pomni is basically the main character of the series, I suspect that TADC is really Zooble's story. Pomni is a transformative character, and it's her actions changing the people around her. If you think about it, Pomni helped bring Kinger out of his shell in the last episode, and that's likely part of what prompted him to step up here, forcing Zooble to go on the adventure. Zooble is the one on a character arc, going from disaffected to caring about the others.
13:04 I like the insinuation that Gangle would have been cool with Ragatha inhaling paint on the job, but was upset when she didn't do it during her break.
Not kidding but my manager basically said that to me. I was doing COSHH training ehich is basically chemical safety and she said "it's basically just dont drink bleach on company time and don't drink company bleach".
Makes sense that Zooble is the one comforting Gangle at the end. Ragatha is always cheerful and supportive, but as Gangle said, it can be hard to tell how genuine she's being. If she actually likes you and wants to help, or if she's just being the "nice one" as her own method of coping. Meanwhile, Zooble is always genuine. Never puts up a front or pretends to like anything. Words of support can be nice, but sometimes some "real talk" is more comforting than all of that. And it helps that Zooble does seem to really care, as well.
Gangle is so cool. She used to be a shift manager, she draws, she had dreams. Actual dreams that she was probably told were never possible. She has depression and is trying to overcome it. Shes insecure. She's not that bad of a leader. Hard same when she stopped those times Jax and ragatha said/implied that they liked her better or she was easier to deal with when she was depressed. The way Zooble has her back and is trying to help Gangle be more comfortable in her own body too is so sweet, and how Pomni was willing to sit down and talk to Gangle and help her, even covering the closing shift at the end...
Now thinking about it Ragatha seems like the type of person that wants to be a hero to satisfy her hero complex than out of genuine kindness because the only real reason Ragatha would prefer it when she was depressed was probably because she could help her out. I think Pomni said it best in episode 2, "Im not a child, you don't have to hype me up". To Pomni (at that point), Ragatha's not really being genuine and moreso treating her like a kid rather than an actual person. At best, the others see Ragatha as somewhat ingenuine with her approaches while she believes she isn't and at worst, she has a severe hero complex.
I appreciate how it's pointed out that Ragatha's friendliness is at a point to where people couldn't be certain of her being genuine. Been in that position before where I was too nice to the point it was inauthentic and it hurt people. What a zinger!
I haven't been that nice... I cracked and got an inferiority complex and a superiority complex... I'm too self-centered. But yeah. Never met someone that nice. Most just have anxiety or are fake trying to make friends by faking themselves. Or people pleasing.... Anyway good luck with that!
No one's perfect anyways, just like no system is. Just have to put up with each other and each system that's presented. Not like we're perfect anyways, people still put up with our imperfections, so we kind of have to put up with other's imperfections too. Doing Revenge is so bad though, forgiveness should be talked about more often in popular culture.
Such an accurate depiction of working in a fast food restaurant. Right down to the one coworker whose always stoned or drunk, the manager who puts on a fake smile, and the one coworker who hates their job so much that they cant stop looking at the clock every few minutes waiting for the day to end.
I’m glad they finally covered one of the most important yet depressing topics I’ve seen in fiction: not depersonalization, not the fear of death, not the processing of grief, not even the masking of our emotions to hid our deepest insecurities. Truly, the most saddening thing in this series is making people work fast food.
I like how Pomni was relatively stable throughout all of this, easily the most stable we've seen her so far. She's just comfortable when things aren't weird and are relatively normal.
aside from the weird customers, this is actually a relatively normal environment compared to the stuff shes seen prior, most of the characters seemed to show how they'd actually act in a real environment, with zooble ironically being the most competent out of all of the characters despite never wanting to partake in adventures
@@BitrateBillythe customers also probably normalised them. like seeing the special effects behind an old movie, and seeing the actors being silly in them behind the scenes. in fairness she was somewhat traumatised by the off screen reproduction conversation
1. The Pomni unicorn reference was gold. 2. Ragatha getting high and proceeding to casually say what she usually holds back when talking to the others was oddly satisfying to hear. 3. Jax getting astronomically humbled this episode was funny. 4.Oh damn Gangle was projecting during that training video, huh
I love how each of them kinda represents “that one coworker” that every job has. Pomni being the sort of newbie who does their job but is a bit uncomfortable because they're just starting out. Jax being the coworker who's been working there for way too long and is desperately trying to get out of there. Zooble being the coworker who doesn't like their job but understands that they're there to work and may as well do it right. Gangle being a former coworker promoted to manager whos having trouble leading her new team who don't see her any differently. Rageta being the one who came in high and is just making shit harder.
Bruh what restaurant have you been at lmao. From all the places I have worked you would be hard pressed to find a cook who isn't high including the sous chef and head chef. The managers rarely ever even care because they still do their jobs well while completely baked because it is such a monotonous process and they're so used to doing it.
Notice how in the begining Gangle is learning how to properly throw something and in the end when she trowes her mask to the sky, she actually does a good throw. Mind blowing detail
Actually now that I think about it. Theres always smth in the beggining of the episode that comes to the end. In the 2nd episode it was Pomnis nightmare. And in the 3rd it was the breathing. Nice detail
This episode was really unique, the lack of music throughout the whole thing was GENIUS. It made the whole mood feel empty, which went really well with gangle repressing her emotions. It made it feel realistic, and tense, the kind of way you’d feel when you know someone is miserable and there’s nothing you can do about it. I’m glad they made a slower episode, because all of the characters got a lot of development and we got to see their personalities in a more normal environment, instead of the usual wacky places they’d be in. This was genius, and I really connected with the feeling of the episode, awesome work.
I thought it was just a good episode because it didn't have a lot of background noise and let me focus on the characters. Music is mostly for action and silence is for personal.
This explains why the episode was strange and underwhelming to me, I couldn't figure out what I was exactly feeling, like I do not hate the episode not at all but I really just stared at my screen blankly and stayed quiet the whole time.
Fun fact: when jax was getting traumatized at 12:26 is bc rabbits have a fear of flashes (and sudden movement from when gangle paused then got back to talking)
As someone who used to work in fast food the attention to detail here was S-Tier. Caine mentioning non-slip shoes, those weird rubber floor mats with the holes, the little drawers for the finished burger patties... Even Gangle's line "If you have time to lean, you have time to clean!" I've had people tell me that exact thing, word for word.
Somewhat off-topic, but I think the rubber mats with the holes are made to prevent your feet from getting sore while standing. Edit: This is not correct, I was mixing the grease mats up with something else that I've seen while working at Goodwill. Apologies for the misinformation!
True, this is a very positive point of this series when I started watching I thought it was going to be that typical series that always wanted to let the main character have all the best moments Having all the attention on him, but it's quite the opposite, leaving other secondary characters in the foreground. I love that in this series! In this video, Ponmi was in the background having scenes but not as relevant as the Gangel scenes.
That look gumigoo gives pomni when leaving really makes me think that he remembers. Also the fact that gangle worked so hard and did everything “corporate “ wanted and still only got a B+ is so real
In defense of corporate, it’s obvious the in the truest indicator of an excellent fast food manager is their ability at bull riding, hence why Kinger was given an A+. So really Gangle just didn’t put it all out there. 🤷
I'm so glad that Gangle got the chance to get back at Jax. I'm sure it's not even a fraction of what he's done to her. But I also appreciate that she doesn't really enjoy taking it out on him. 'Revenge' isn't for everyone. Especially when it's hurting you too. Revenge is completely valid. But a lot of the time it doesn't feel as good as you had hoped. And sometimes it doesn't feel good at all. I'm sure tormenting Jax wasn't her only, or even her main, goal. But characters can have multiple complex reasons for doing things. Also I love that this episode portrays how there's more than one way to comfort or help someone. Sometimes it's a conversation. Sometimes it's giving them something that you think will help. And sometimes it's doing one small act of kindness to take the weight of their shoulders.
I LOVE how Jax is represented in the Evaluation scene (and beyond this point) like he isn't just portrayed as this "tough-guy" anti-hero who hates the cast, he actually feels genuine emotion, like how his eyes contract rapidly and he looks terrified. AND how it's not mis-characterized, as he says "Nobody can see this, right?" as he doesn't want the rest of them to see him at his most vulnerable. And it shows, like how someone pointed out Pomni being confused at how instead of Jax being generally obnoxious towards her, he's just normal, like he's been traumatized and just awaiting his shift to end.
He looked super stressed out after the evaluation, I know I might be looking too deep into it, but I wonder if the evaluation might have any meaning later on and what Jax saw
I agree, I thought he was the kind of guy who could stand up to someone like Johan Liebert (one of the most evil characters in anime) but I think even Jax would be fearful and wary of Johan's insane manipulation
Gotta love the foreshadowing when Gangle talks about not having the time for creating Manga and then in the last scene you see her drawing it. She was projecting her frustrations.
12:26 fun fact, rabbits are scared of flashing lights, so you can see here that jax is clearly scared of the lights and it’s not just because of the reason that gangle isn’t usually like this. also rabbits are scared of sudden movements, so when you see gangle pause for a second and then continue you can see jax looks startled. this shows that gooseworx puts a lot of details in tadc.
The fragility of Gangle's happy mask was actually a good thing. A mask that never breaks or falters brings more tension with each crack that is never allowed to be.
The scene where Gangle throws the mask and smiles made hit me hard. As someone with depression, it does feel like that sometimes. Like the thing that most makes you miserable is hiding those feelings, not the feelings themselves. And when you drop the act, it feels kinda relieving. Even the tragedy mask can smile. Edit: Watched the chapter again, I noted Gangle says to Jax she has a manic episode, that explains why she started dancing/moving erratically and fell to the traffic, and how she looked so sad when she realized what she had done. I also relate. Mania isn't being too happy, it's more of a state where you're too agitated and "excited", but not actually happy, just makes you more impulsive, more irritable, more alert, more unstable. Gangle is a perfect representation of both depression and bipolar disorder
Interesting that Pomni (and maybe everyone else as well) apparently assumed that the happy mask would actually *make* Gangle happy, instead of just making her appear to be happy, as it's... well, quite literally a mask.
This is something a lot of folks with bipolar or borderline depression use both at work and in everday life. In my experience having BPD, it's very much a cover to prove to others and yourself that you're doing better than you make out. It all stays inside until you're alone in the break room or taking out the trash and that's when the facade falls off like Gangle's mask.
@@kirasigncomics just letting you know, BPD means borderline personality disorder, and depression is an entirely different thing, but both can be experienced at the same time !
When I was younger. I used to come in the morning and set up the stations in a fast food place. I arrived at 8am and everyone would arrive 2 hours later. I was the only person there because my manager was lazy AF. But at 18:00 when the sound was all muted. I felt that. I felt that in my soul.
My best friend is a head chef, and said he related so hard with Gangle during the “breakdown” scenes. Especially the scene where she was just standing there in the dark looking at the empty restaurant. He said it brought back a lot of bad memories. Good job Goosworx and Glitch for nailing it on the head so hard. I’ve never seen my best friend genuinely relate to a character like that before.
I share in that. I never even made it to cook; I was trapped in Dishwasher, bounced around to restaurant after restaurant. Some of them were nice - Crackle Barrel was probably the best one, ironically - but the last place I worked at broke me. Dishwasher, prep cook, delivery driver, cashier, and waiter. They literally forced me to work every station. And I did it. Through blood and sweat, I did it. And then they fired me. "Lacking motivation" they said. I was doing five different jobs, and asking to move full time to Driver because I enjoyed it. How is that a lack of motivation? That company has a terrible habit of firing employees left and right - I was just another cog in the wheel, and once I wasn't useful enough anymore, I was thrown out and replaced. Jobs like that, they sap your motivation if you do them for too long. To get your footing, that's a great start, but when you're in them for years, past the point where it's reasonable, it can make you stop and think about the direction you're life is going in. Gangle's moment just before the end, where she took off the mask, threw it away, and ran out, smiling through her tears... Yeah, that was an allegory for depression and trying a medication that doesn't work or is a placebo. I've been there too. Life is heavy and life is cruel. And I'm not gonna lie, the scene of her getting hit by the truck is a big check box in the "This is purgatory" theory. Which... I kinda hope it isn't, because if it is, why is an AI controlling purgatory. That's silly. Also, love the icon and name. RWBY is great.
I don't know if it was intentional, but there's this detail that I noticed. Usually, depressed people, when they make their final decision to take their own life, are radiant with happiness and even seem to be another person, just like Gangle, who was clearly almost giving up on everything when she was leaving the place and suddenly (taking off her mask) became happy and excited even with the mask that supposedly makes her sad, and moments later she is run over by a truck. Maybe this is her past? She had a dream that was destroyed by the reality of how the world works, she worked late in a place where no one cared about her or respected her, she had a depressed life, until one day she decided to leave it all behind and accept her destiny, taking her own life.
this would be a great theory if that was the case, them all being im the after life together some how?. i could see this being gangles life before dying fr
@@colorbar.s There is a theory that they're actually copies and not the "originals". Either way, it's clear they all have some sort of repressed memories, can't wait to see what future episodes reveal
I like this theory but the big question is how did she end up in the circus if she took her own life? We know that Pomni put on a headset, showing us that they need to be entered by themselves or someone else in order to enter the digital world. Maybe someone saved Gangles conscious by entering her into the circus, maybe C&A is a company that downloads peoples consciousness into a digital world that saves them from their real life bodies that are dying. And that would be interesting since there is religious references within this series, the company is playing with life and death, like a god can do. There is still a lot of questions and theories that are being made so all we can do is wait for more lore to tie up the loose ends.
The expression sort of felt like he was asking her to not make him remember, "Please, let me stay ignorant this time", even though if he does actually remember it's not genuine ignorance.
14:54 I have never seen a more emotionally evocative scene than this one about working fast food, the constant beeping of the fryers in the background, the muffled crowd noises, his exhausted face as he feels stuck in time like an ant desperately trying to crawl out of a drop of sticky honey, it's perfect
I like how as the episode continues, gangle starts acting more like her sad mask self, when she clocks out and talks to pomni, she slouches, fidgets with her hands, and starts talking as she usually would with her sad mask. The new mask didn't change her, it gave her a perspective of who she wanted to be.
her actual comedy mask allows her to express happiness. It allows her to be happy genuinely, but the fake one.... It didn't. It was just placebo, and once she started feeling stressed, she had to fake it to keep sane, until eventually, she just cracked from it all.
18:27 love how this is deeper than just Pomni covering for Gangle. Music choice tells you everything, it feels like Gangle would have abstracted here if Pomni hadn't intervened.
Would Gangle have Abstracted? How can you be sure? We've never actually seen how getting Abstracted actually works, we've only ever seen the aftermath.
@@frozenfoxgames5300I think it’s basically when the character completely gives up all hope or succumbs to an obsession. Example: Kaufmo abstracted whilst looking for an exit to the Circus. The short film about him, despite being non-canon, shows this pretty well, so I’m guessing that he abstracted as a direct result of this, as he could never find the exit. I also get the feeling that Pomni came close to abstracting in the Pilot, when she saw the monitor in the office maze. She looked absolutely deranged, and I think that’s when she lost it. As for Gangle here, it’s the stress of being a shift manager piling up on her shoulders and crushing her. She couldn’t take it anymore, and so she came REALLY close to abstracting. This is just my theory, feel free to correct me.
I love how confused Pomni gets when Jax acts "normal" towards her. Like he doesn't say anything mean, asks how she is, all because he's been now traumatized by the reality of working a dead end job with no way up. Great episode
The environment artists deserve more praise for their work. They really captured the dreamlike feel of early CGI. That shot of Gangle standing under the streetlight was absolutely beautiful.
15:20 it feels... kinda genuine to see Jax talks like a sane normal person, with frustration and tired feeling. It kinda feels like he's showing his genuine personality instead of his sadistic persona, he asked how pomni's doing and said later pomni.
This is truly beautiful animation, this is crazy! The pieces in Zobble's room are amzing, and and I love how this is a weird, funny, dark show! Beautiful!
I love how Ragatha is usually the nicest and moral out of the circus members and seeing her act laid back and lazy while being done working at Spudsy’s is absolutely hilarious.
Its Ragatha without the, well, mask. There's something to the idea that Ragatha is trying really hard to present this perfect positive supportive persona but deep down she's just as flawed as everyone else and trying her best.
I just love how everyone is slowly and truly turning back into a normal being in a ‘normal life’. Like, Jax’s broken and tired personality, ragatha’s tired and lazy work even if she’s the one helping the others in the last episode. Pomni’s desperate attempt to talk to gumigoo, and gangles depressed side. You can feel and tell that everyone in the circus is just tired and wants to leave. Even Caine just glitched after gangle left the office. I also saw some hidden hints on the next episode. Edit: I’ve also seen that C&A’s logo is in caine’s office and the fast food. The company that propably also turned everyone of them into character’s in this digital circus.
@@Windyumbreon 17:02 this timestamp also shows the hidden character in the board. Just beside the clock and the card holder where gangle held his card much later in the episode.
Yea, you end up making mistakes and struggling while you try to handle your emotions, I've been through it as well. At the end, you feel like her, you wanted to do your best for the business, but feel like you could have done it much better.
I don't understand how nobody is talking about the way this is supposed to reflect on Caine. I feel like this episode was trying to show what it would look like if another character from the circus took control of running it, it shows how much pressure there really is on Caine.
Ragatha had horses?? It gives me an idea on where or how Raggy live! Maybe she lived near a barn or she was a wealthy person who owned a horse or maybe she was a horse racer.
18:34 Gangle was so close to abstract in this scene and pomni helping them is so cute, first with kinger and now gangle she is truly a wholesome character without noticing
Oh my gosh wait is that what that was, she was about to abstract?!?! I only just realised that that was probably what was happening, and you're probably right, thank gosh Pomni is a sweetheart
4:30 Jax: Oh no looks like l've taken Ragatha Ragatha: Huh? Jax: And dropped her in deep fryer. Ragatha: [burbled screaming] Gangle: Oh no no no no no no NO!! Gangle: We can't have ANYTHING like that going on around here. Jax: What are you gonna do about it though? Gangle: I'm calling upper management. Ragatha: [burbled screaming continues]
It's funny how not being present period wasn't lead to being judged, since ALL THE OTHERS ended up with the same score. Bit of a comically large sign that Caine is off his rocker.
Omg! Ragatha complaining"I've been hurt enough, packages dropped on my head, tea parties, dancing lessons!" That was a part of the song 'No girls toy', from the Raggedy Anne Movie! Jax's VA even sang the song as Jax!
15:20 I love this moment here. I only noticed this on my first rewatch, but I love how when jax asks pomni how she’s doing, pomni initially responds how she normally would to that question like she was talking to anyone else, until she realizes jax is the one who said it. I think this is really interesting as we’ve both never seen jax this defeated before and have never seen him say anything so genuinely nice before. Its such a small thing, but like he was completely genuine about this and he doesnt like follow it up with any sarcastic remark and even ends their conversation with “see you later pomni” as if he actually likes her company. Really cool to see how jax, for a second in time, opened himself up a little and just like had a casual conversation EDIT: Wanted to put this here as thats probably the best way people will see it (with this comment having 8k likes wowzas!); When Caine assesses gangle’s performance for the day there are two things I want to point out: One, The images teapots in the office is a reference to this one teapot(it has a name, I just forgot it) that many modelers use as a placeholder or test. It’s a really cool detail because an AI like caine would probably have that in his office lol. And two, I like how they set everything up in the episode to make you think when she has the chance to put the blame on jax, she doesnt. It wouldve undercut the impact of the scene before if she was like “ykw yeah I will lol”. Good job
I actually started tearing up during this episode. The way Gangle gives messages with the TV when she draws herself saying you shouldn't care about your dreams, SPECIFICALLY manga. And the fact she's not a crybaby, she's just depressed. It's sad. She never deserved what she went through to feel insecure.
I struggle with Bi-polar disorder IRL and some of scenes hit a little too close to home. The scene where she and Pomni talk behind the building nearly had me in tears. I felt so heard and seen by that just 100/10
Hey baby, what you know good I'm just getting back, but you knew I would War is hell, when will it end? When will people start getting together again? Are things really getting better, like the newspaper said What else is new my friend, besides what I read Can't find no work, can't find no job, my friend Money is tighter than, it's ever been Say man, I just don't understand What's going on across this land Ah, what's happening brother?
"i always like seeing what you draw." THIS SCENE IM SOBBING edit: I did NOT intend to have a ship war under this comment. I don't ship any of the characters but Gooseworx has stated that she does not care if someone ships any of the TADC characters, so just let that person who brought up cryingtoy ship who they want to ship, it's not hurting anyone because it isn't a proship. Thank you
I really like how the true versions of the characters are starting to unravel. It seems like Gangle was a shift manager who wanted to be a comic artist before entering the circus, and the restaurant gradually reminds her of the past. Pomni, however, seems to try to help her like Kinger did for herself in the previous episode. I also like how Zooble comforted her as well. Pomni and Zooble have a sort of sisterly bond with Gangle here, and I love it. Pomni’s starting to adjust to the circus, this becoming better at handling the adventures. It really does raise question for who’s going to have the next emotional drop of lore in the next episode.
I always hated the amazing digital circus not cuz it’s popular but because it’s terribly written scripts and storyboarding but this episode is…different…everything is so interesting and just…better!good job glitch production, looking forward for more!!
I like how Cane is not being rude or mean to Gangle during the "evaluation" yet hurting them, he is just completely disconnected from what his "employee" feels/thinks
Sometimes his behaviour feels less like an AI and more like a narcissist. Not in the exaggerated insult way, but in the "everyone here is representing a mental illness to show its struggle without it being a damning thing, and here's this one" way
One thing i also noticed at the ending is that when zooble was talking to gangle, she wiped the tears on her face and her sad mask now looks like her happy mask, meaning that she no longer need to mask herself and her feelings to be happy. Trully beautiful.
so, I guess no one is gonna talk about the fact that pomni literally had to overcome such a great internal battle just so she could tell gumigoo to have a nice day rather than let him know what's' really happening. She could have ruined his life by telling him about what happened, but she decided to spare him. She decided its best if he doesnt know. also, I love that line "were doing one of these again" like yup pomni keeps having to help other people get through theyre struggles almost every other episode, I'm glad this episode was a little different, since pomni decided to help both gumigoo and Gangle without telling them anything. She lets Gangle go off early, just to let her know people cared about her, not about who she is with or without the mask. Anyways, cant wait for episode 5!
Also couldn't help but notice that Gummigoo seemed a little bit . . . different in that final interaction. Kind of like the boys being no longer in earshot allowed him to show just a bit of acknowledgement that he'd previously been holding back.
@@bolbyballinger yeah maybe he was trying to signal that he really doesnt wanna talk about what happened. Maybe he remembers it all but wants to forget about it and leave it in his past, thats probably the message he was trying to communicate to pomni when he looked at her like that. Pomni understood and said her goodbyes, knowing that since shes staying here infinitely, they'll meet again one day.
@@bolbyballinger Nah, his face screamed "This is really awkward but I don't wanna be impolite." He looks like he's worried she's going to be weird again, and is relieved when she just wishes him a good day.
I think it might not have worked to try telling him about it anyway, or it would be too much for the time Pomni had. That sad face Gummigoo makes almost seems like he might actually remember… Or more likely, he feels sorry he doesn’t.
@@TMS-Oddbot oh yeah, not that you mention it, i also feel like he might just be trying to say "look, i dont know what's going on with you but i hope you can forgive me if i was important too you at some point."
The reason why Jax was so scared of the gangle happy face and sad face flashing was because rabbits are afraid of flashing lights. He was also scared when gangle stopped talking for a second because rabbits are also scared of sudden movement.
The way the mundane atmosphere gives us more time to observe the characters is so smart. They sum up internal conflicts like depression in such an accurate way. And the way all the characters sort of look out for each other is so heartwarming.
Really impressive, the episode was underwhelming for me because maybe I have never seen a show before do things things way when showing a scene, personalities or just characters interacting
I'm gangle 😭😭😭😭 1 MINUTE CRYING THEN REALIZEING SOMEONE IS WATCHING THEN JUST GET UP AND BE LIKE "EVERYTHING IS FINE IM FINE TODAY IS A QWAKEN GOOD DAY" 😭😭😭✨
Shoutout to the person in the live chat that said ‘medication analogy’ bc yeah this ep very much hit in like a mental health metaphor way. ‘The new mask didnt work’ line at the end especially made me think about going through medication to help with mental health (depression, possible bipolar if you take the manic episode joke at more than face value? Whatever it might be) and it not working out. New meds can have all kinds of effects that don’t always work out. Also the line where Ragatha said that gangle’s kind of annoying when she’s not sad like. Man. Imagine trying to work out and be better and being told you’re more tolerable at your worst. Good episode, genuinely made me feel things :) love to see gangle spotlight
I think each character is based on a mental disorder like kinger having PTSD gangle maybe having multiple personality disorders because of the multiple masks
I have bipolar and study psychology, and Gangle absolutely has it. I mean, it's a little on-the-nose with the duality of the theater masks, but that's likely how she was BEFORE she wound up in the Digital Circus, so her form fit her true self. As for medication, it is absolutely difficult treating Bipolar, because although pills work wonders, everyone has different brain chemistries, so FINDING the pills that work for you can be a needle in a haystack situation. Switching masks around was a good metaphor for medication. Owl House also did a damn good job with this symbolism, and Gangle likely has to find the same solution Eda did; in addition to "the medicine" that works, you have to make peace with yourself and your illnesses, because you're always going to have each other. Work together.
Adding on, her "meds" /fixes even if she didn't have/isnt bipolar, could still be making her actually manic, manic episodes can be caused by a mental disorder but also from the wrong medications or wrong doses
Telling her she was annoying while she’s happy broke me 😭😭😭💔 I relate so hard, I genuinely cannot function normally without my medication, but even then people still see me (and her!) as flawed or irritating when we’re literally fighting for our life to be normal and keep it together every day😭 I feel so bad. She’s such a sweetie
This is extraordinary episode story On multiple reasons, Jax getting consequences, Pomni meeting gummi, gangle projecting and working on her own issues. It’s all great.
Ragatha gets "drunk" and becomes brutally honest. Zooble actually participates and tries their best, including being there as a friend for Gangle. Yeah. This episode has a lot of highlights.
I loooove the little touches in the fast food restaurant like all the sticky notes on equipment for the employees to read, reminders written on whiteboards and posters, instruction labels still on the appliances etc. Crazy how authentic the environment feels given the wacky circumstances
One of the many benefits of indie producers is that they've actually had to support themselves working retail and know exactly how to recreate not just the physical environment, but the hyper-specific atmosphere that goes along with it. Someone who's spent their whole life in The Industry might not've been able to nail the vibes so perfectly.
@@Neptunequeen42 Sometimes life doesn't work out, your degree is useless in a faltering job economy and your career never happens. And we end up stuck working jobs most people have never had to work in their lives and try to support families in the process. Just got my 12th rejection email this week.
dude i love gangle's character development, since the first episode i've always ben kinda pissed at how zooble or gangle haven't gotten any character development till now, it's nice seeing this now.
16:36 This line is super interesting. Ragatha is portrayed as the emotional rock as the group, but Gangle, who wears a number of masks, probably understands that Ragatha is wearing a mask of her own. Wonder where this line leads to.
Seeing Ragatha's true thoughts about everyone this episode was really fascinating. Curiously, we didn't get to hear what she thought of Pomni, but I'm sure that'll come out in a later episode (it seems like every character is getting their spotlight). She doesn't seem like a *bad* person, but definitely not as positive and upbeat as she acts. Her calling Gangle annoying really hurt, though, that shit suuuuuuuuuucks to hear.
OH MY GOD, THAT SCENE WHERE GANGLE JUMPED INTO UNCOMING TRAFFIC AND WHEN SHE SMILED MADE MY HEART BURST, THAT TRAFFIC SCENE MAFE ME SCREAM. That was an AMAZING episode.
15:19 Love how Pomni is surprised/on guard when Jax just asks how she’s doing, as though this is the first time he hasn’t tried messing with her. I think antagonising others might be how he copes, that was taken away from him this episode and we see just how down in the dumps he got.
I watch this with my 70 year old dad, and he said what he likes most about TADC are the "small moments of kindness" like when Pomni offers to close for Gangle, or Zooble reassuring Gangle they're cared about and to join their group again. His favorite was last episode with Kinger comforting Pomni ❤
I love the message Gangle gives. That it's okay to be sad and that there's no need to force yourself to be happy all the time. I love to see how everyone is warming up with each other they're a big family in a world none of them want to be stuck in
@Nicolas-x6v I just love how I predicted for myself that Zooble and Gangle are friends and I believe Zooble is a very sweet person you can talk to pretty well. I think they are good at listening.
I related to her alot. Masking is such a hard thing to unlearn when you've been doing it for years and society wants you to. I felt so happy for her when she realized it at the end.
@@cyber_runner I know what you mean. Luckily I found the right people to be around to unlearn it easyer, since 2 years now I don't give a sh*t anymore what others think about me and I also don't act happy when I am not. I really hope you have or will find the right people who can help you with that. 🙏🏻
The idea that this episode doesn't have any sort of villain that needs to be concurred, or any direct goal or anything, but is just "work a single shift and go home" makes it such a great environment for the characters to really develop. I did like how Jax was absolutely exhausted from attempting to keep his smile on, no matter how ironic it usually is for him to have it, and how Ragatha stopped holding back the things she typically thinks of people after she gets Stupid Sauce in her eye. Which brings a question: does Ragatha get tunnel vision from only having 1 eye, or can she see out of the button?
Honestly, I think it was pretty cool that the special sauce sort of made her say her true feelings, and I have the same question, can she see out of her button eye?!
Uww Gangle made me cry :( 😢 sometimes I feel like her and the fact that I wanted to do manga and something with her drawings too 😭😭 He became my favorite character 😭 being tired and treating Pomni normally. Poni: 🤨 ah?
Love the visuals when Gangle throws her “happy” mask. Then the happy mask looks sad and the sad mask looks happy. Pretty simple way to illustrate the complexities of emotion.
I know the common comparison for Gangle's new mask is that she is effectively masking and suppressing her emotions. But I also think it could go a step further. When I first watched this episode I thought the new plastic mask symbolized or was a placeholder for medication. Especially when at the end of the episode Zooble said "the new mask was a bust...I'm sure we'll find something that works eventually." Because something that people don't realize is that just because you begin medication doesn't mean you suddenly solve all your problems. Sometimes it can actually make it worse or compound the problem. It can be very disheartening to think you are getting better, that you're taking the right steps and everyone says you aren't or that you were better off before you started getting medicated. It's a process, sometimes the dosage is wrong or sometimes you need to switch to a different medication. Although I can definitely see why people attribute the new mask as more of a coping mechanism and I do agree with that interoperation, but I just wanted to get my thoughts out there to.
Dang, I hadn't thought about it that way. I love that interpretation though, the idea that you can do all the good stuff and still not feel better can be really tough to get through.
my brain went to the exact same place, and as somebody who searched for years to find the right combination of medications, this feels like a really accurate portrayal of that.
I personally am extremely uninformed on such topics, but the mask being an allegory for medication was my first thought on my first watchthrough of the episode, especially with the "I feel normal, in a good way" in the beginning, felt very much like she felt it was influencing her in a good way, and then the way she grows more manic as it becomes clear its not working out for her- and yeah the comment at the end really sealed it for me, it makes me wonder if you could expand this comparison of the idea of replacing parts being a form of medication in how they alter themselves, specifically in how Zooble feels uncomfortable with their body and has been trying out loads of new parts. The fact it was Zooble who introduced Gangle to the mask also adds to this- a friend with experience here offering something that might fit for Gangle Definitely my new favourite episode all in all, likely in part due to Gangle being my favourite character
Yeah I went through like 6 antidepressants before landing on the one I'm on now. It's the only one that's worked for longer than a year. Such a nice feeling when you finally do find the right one.
The fact that as soon as Jax leaves the building he just, stops smiling really indicates more about his character, like as soon as he’s alone he just gives up on the “smile all the time” thing, I can’t wait to learn more about him and his facade, he’s definitely a jerk don’t get me wrong, but something is definitely up
At 18:31 I loved the detail of Grangle's happy mask's eyes turning the exact shape of the sad mask. Makes me wonder what would have happened if Pomni wasn't there
i love gangle’s character. the whole idea of the new mask representing suppressing or “masking” how you feel, and the new small details that might be about her life before the circus (a shift manager at a fast food place who wanted to have their own web comic)
Ok im getting a bit matpat here but i think the part where she got hit by a truck could imply that maybe in the past she got a head injury so she was tranferred to a program (the digital circus) Idk random theory lol i need sleep
@@Doweeto oh wow, that is perfectly possible. Imagine everyone on the digital circus is already dead or smth, and they were all transfered there without memories of those events.
“Guess you’re never getting that unicorn horn, Pomni.” There was a TADC comic (or storyboard, whatever it is) which showed Pomni with a unicorn horn saying “my iconic unicorn horn is picking up Soviet signals!” Edit: Wtf 6.9K likes.
Near the beginning, it seemed gangle remembered a part of her actual life since she stated “being a shift manager was my job at one point”. I also love like how relatable and true she is. And like is her drawings also connected to her past?
I kind of love how Jax is nice to pomni because it was probably the only thing stopping from him going insane yet he still remained kind of normal towards her
This feels more human than any past episodes. I manage a small family business myself, and I get why Gangle broke up in the end. It's very difficult to motivate others and connect with employees while being the one who's in charge of assigning them work. The little anime-esque representation of Gangle's breaking point is a cool little nod to her real dream. Kudos, this was certainly a step forward in every aspect.
You know, reading a lot of people's comments here, including yours and how I've also been feeling about life, it's just so sad to me that a lot of people go through such pressure and feelings, especially dealing with external input on how to act and how to feel. Am I the only one who relies straightly on external validation to move on with my day? Kinda like ragatha, I can only think I am worth anything when I make every one else happy...
I really like how Gangle mentions how she gave up on trying to be a manga artist and at the end you can see that she's drawing in her sketchbook. She's still hanging on to hope that she can achieve her dreams someday.
It took me until the end of the episode to realize, but whenever Jax breaks Gangles comedy mask the tragedy mask is still on. When they put on other masks their depression isn't actually hidden, even when it isn't showing through their masks. It's not gone, just hidden. No idea if this was obvious to anyone else, but i liked the detail
Yes! I actually believe that the comedy mask and that new plastic masks are like medication. Everything just fits, "We'll find one that works." not to mention the downward manic spiral from having the 'wrong' mask, one that doesn't work right for them. Gangle doesn't really express a need to hide their depression, only that having the comedy mask, and for a bit the plastic mask, makes them FEEL better. That, to me, sounds like it is the same as medication for depression then, rather than an attempt to 'mask/hide emotions'. That's the only way I can see it now!
"I just want to wish you a pleasant day; thank you for eating at Spudsy's." I think this line from Pomni really shows how well she's developed since the Pilot. Instead of still being in denial about her new life and trying desperately to get Gumigoo to remember her, she accepts the situation for what it is and allows Gumigoo to leave, but also using her CR roleplay to convey how she still cherishes her first real friend in the Amazing Digital Circus.

I thought the same thing when I saw the way he looked at her as he was walking away.😢
Thank you for helping me notice this!! He looks sad to leave which could be nothing…but could be something
God dam that Gummy crocodile is going to make me cry again
See, I got a different feeling from that scene. His expression, especially how his eyes slightly shift to the door then back to her, make it seem like a more uncomfortable/anxious "oh this weird stalker girl is here again."
Same dude. I was like...wait, something's up
The split second conversation between pomni & jax is super interesting.
Omg fr tho
Jax is not a bad person he is just like me he cant take this seriously and acts like its all a game
Even i dont feel bad about npcs in gta and use any gun in street
he most likely acts like this because this episode definitely played on his weakness of relying on others to entertain himself, he’s been traumatised by the experience and can’t find joy in anyone else’s suffering in this adventure

Мне нравится Зубловское "мы найдём что-то более подходящее", это в очень духе Зубл и в духе Гузворкс
Pomni is the G here, she prevented Gangle from what could VERY MUCH be abstracting

While they're digital sentience and their existence is for cains enjoyment, they're ON SHIFT lol
Not kidding but my manager basically said that to me. I was doing COSHH training ehich is basically chemical safety and she said "it's basically just dont drink bleach on company time and don't drink company bleach".
I've worked fast food and retail, it really is like that tbh
Hello you is bot
Makes sense that Zooble is the one comforting Gangle at the end. Ragatha is always cheerful and supportive, but as Gangle said, it can be hard to tell how genuine she's being. If she actually likes you and wants to help, or if she's just being the "nice one" as her own method of coping.
Meanwhile, Zooble is always genuine. Never puts up a front or pretends to like anything. Words of support can be nice, but sometimes some "real talk" is more comforting than all of that. And it helps that Zooble does seem to really care, as well.
Yeah I think that makes sense now.
And Pomni too
Which is why ragatha will kill zoobl in a later episode
True that make a lot more sense if you think more about it

Gangle is so cool. She used to be a shift manager, she draws, she had dreams. Actual dreams that she was probably told were never possible. She has depression and is trying to overcome it. Shes insecure. She's not that bad of a leader.
Hard same when she stopped those times Jax and ragatha said/implied that they liked her better or she was easier to deal with when she was depressed.
The way Zooble has her back and is trying to help Gangle be more comfortable in her own body too is so sweet, and how Pomni was willing to sit down and talk to Gangle and help her, even covering the closing shift at the end...
Wait it’s a she, I thought it was a he (no hate just me being dumb)
She is amazing!
HIIII!!
si es buena pero es algo mala ya que en una escena ensiera a jax y esp seria secuestro malo 11:24
Tbh haven't seen presentation of such personality that much in media so I'm happy to have it somewhere!

I like how Pomni was relatively stable throughout all of this, easily the most stable we've seen her so far. She's just comfortable when things aren't weird and are relatively normal.
After eps 2 and 3 those experiences def hardened her and it seems the idea of having friends at her side has kept her in high spirits.
to be fair, she’s still the newest so is probably still the most intact mind out of all of them
aside from the weird customers, this is actually a relatively normal environment compared to the stuff shes seen prior, most of the characters seemed to show how they'd actually act in a real environment, with zooble ironically being the most competent out of all of the characters despite never wanting to partake in adventures

As someone who used to work in fast food the attention to detail here was S-Tier. Caine mentioning non-slip shoes, those weird rubber floor mats with the holes, the little drawers for the finished burger patties... Apologies for the misinformation!
I appreciate Pomni taking a back seat for this episode and allowing the rest of the cast to be fleshed out a little more.
Also it seems like she enjoyed whole being a fastfood worker thing. Good for her. Nice to see them actually have fun in these adventures.
Yeah I'm eating captain crunch while watching this
For real!
Pomni let the others shine.
That look gumigoo gives pomni when leaving really makes me think that he remembers. Also the fact that gangle worked so hard and did everything “corporate “ wanted and still only got a B+ is so real
also, notice how Gumigoo actually tries to reach out to Pomni when she said his name? yeah, I think he remembers
Of course he does!
In defense of corporate, it’s obvious the in the truest indicator of an excellent fast food manager is their ability at bull riding, hence why Kinger was given an A+. So really Gangle just didn’t put it all out there. 🤷
I don't think he does
My manager at Walmart once told me “isn’t giving a 4/5 on your personal eval thinking a bit too highly of yourself?”
So Walmart only ever gets 3s.
But they did say there is nothing heroic about him
He looked super stressed out after the evaluation, I know I might be looking too deep into it, but I wonder if the evaluation might have any meaning later on and what Jax saw
@@Nezuko_Kamado415Yeah. There isn’t anything heroic about him at all, it’s just that because of this episode he seems more.. human I guess.

You ever hear about what happens when a depressed person is suddenly really happy...
i relate as a person with autism, when i don't have to "mask" around people especially in school i feel free and happy, i think gingle has autism
I almost cried with em bro….
@@OhMyGodMuffinsoh that tracks as they ran into traffic. It was an accident but still
And then do you jump over to traffic?
The concept of "masking" in a retail environment is such a unique topic. What a cool way to explore it. Well done.
It all stays inside until you're alone in the break room or taking out the trash and that's when the facade falls off like Gangle's mask.
oh yes. I can relate. after a while your mask is permanently broken and need to brute force through the day anyway. omg this episode was too real.
agreed
Awesome, RWBY osts guy.
No seriously, the buzzing and the swaying is SPOT ON to how it feels at the end of a long shift
Woah it's you. Thank you for sharing a new perspective
Too real
I mean, they're not dead, they're just playing a vr game they can't escape. I can see a failed attempt though
@@colorbar.s OR or.. hear me out.. she uses VR as a way to escape reality and she somehow gets herself into TADC
this would be a great theory if that was the case, them all being im the after life together some how?. i could see this being gangles life before dying fr
When Gummigoo gave that look to Pomni when he was leaving, made me think that he remembered her. It kinda made me cry a little for some reason.
Me too man... We need more Gummigoo
SAME
He also reached out to Pomni when Gangle interrupted them at the table but pulled back.
The expression sort of felt like he was asking her to not make him remember, "Please, let me stay ignorant this time", even though if he does actually remember it's not genuine ignorance.
crybaby
14:54 I have never seen a more emotionally evocative scene than this one about working fast food, the constant beeping of the fryers in the background, the muffled crowd noises, his exhausted face as he feels stuck in time like an ant desperately trying to crawl out of a drop of sticky honey, it's perfect
21:20 I love how Kinger is the only one that has an A+ even though he wasn't even there.
Because we all love kinger
@@Dat_Guy-IsCool Was thinking the same thing fr 😂

I like how as the episode continues, gangle starts acting more like her sad mask self, when she clocks out and talks to pomni, she slouches, fidgets with her hands, and starts talking as she usually would with her sad mask. The new mask didn't change her, it gave her a perspective of who she wanted to be.
I think it could represent meds wearing off, as some of the comments used that analogy.
Lord forgive me for what I'm about to do: HOLY SHIT 1K LIKES?!
My farts are better than GLITCH’s farts
her actual comedy mask allows her to express happiness. It allows her to be happy genuinely, but the fake one.... It didn't. It was just placebo, and once she started feeling stressed, she had to fake it to keep sane, until eventually, she just cracked from it all.
same
I’m just gonna say it’s a metaphor for depression, masked behind a feeling of what you want to be
18:27 love how this is deeper than just Pomni covering for Gangle.
Music choice tells you everything, it feels like Gangle would have abstracted here if Pomni hadn't intervened.
There were a few occasions in the episode where she would have without a distraction.
Gangle was definitely about to abstract glad pomni was there
Would Gangle have Abstracted? How can you be sure? We've never actually seen how getting Abstracted actually works, we've only ever seen the aftermath.
@@frozenfoxgames5300I think it’s basically when the character completely gives up all hope or succumbs to an obsession. Example:
Kaufmo abstracted whilst looking for an exit to the Circus.
@frozenfoxgames5300 Yeah, but we've been told how it happens in literally the first episode.
Danm despite zooble being grouchy, she is kind and caring to gangle! Im honestly suprised to say the least
I love how confused Pomni gets when Jax acts "normal" towards her. Like he doesn't say anything mean, asks how she is, all because he's been now traumatized by the reality of working a dead end job with no way up. Great episode
This was my favorite part!!
it could be a “I’m to tired to be rude” thing plus I do believe he cares for them that’s just how he is
I think he also just hates dead end jobs lol
Do i smell Character Development?
Heyyyy
The environment artists deserve more praise for their work. They really captured the dreamlike feel of early CGI. That shot of Gangle standing under the streetlight was absolutely beautiful.
That part was fucking beautiful, it made it such an inpactful moment
And then Gangle gets isekai'd.
Shatafaka
Dude they were absolutely COOKING with that scene
im so glad someone pointed this out!
15:20 it feels... kinda genuine to see Jax talks like a sane normal person, with frustration and tired feeling. It kinda feels like he's showing his genuine personality instead of his sadistic persona, he asked how pomni's doing and said later pomni.
Pomni almost wet herself when she saw Gummygoo 😂😂😂

I love how Ragatha is usually the nicest and moral out of the circus members and seeing her act laid back and lazy while being done working at Spudsy’s is absolutely hilarious.
Makes Gangle's line about Ragatha not being genuine hit harder.
Low key has me worried about what's coming with her.
Is because like in gravity falls food there contains 💉🌿
EDIT : and also probably in the earth of helluva boss
Its Ragatha without the, well, mask. There's something to the idea that Ragatha is trying really hard to present this perfect positive supportive persona but deep down she's just as flawed as everyone else and trying her best.
Ragatha isn’t laid back in this episode she is drunk
I just love how everyone is slowly and truly turning back into a normal being in a ‘normal life’. Like, Jax’s broken and tired personality, ragatha’s tired and lazy work even if she’s the one helping the others in the last episode. Pomni’s desperate attempt to talk to gumigoo, and gangles depressed side.
You can feel and tell that everyone in the circus is just tired and wants to leave. Even Caine just glitched after gangle left the office.
I also saw some hidden hints on the next episode.

I don't understand how nobody is talking about the way this is supposed to reflect on Caine. I feel like this episode was trying to show what it would look like if another character from the circus took control of running it, it shows how much pressure there really is on Caine.
Pay may be good for manager positions, but dang is it depressing and stressful ESPECIALLY when upper management is completely unhelpful at times.
There are many people who commit s*icide due to so much pressure in real life but I still don't understand why they committed s*icide.
I was really intrigued by
Gangle mentioning one of her previous jobs and Ragatha saying that she misses her horses!
Ragatha had horses?? It gives me an idea on where or how Raggy live! Maybe she lived near a barn or she was a wealthy person who owned a horse or maybe she was a horse racer.

Holy smokes that's a cool detail! The movie was pretty cool and to me No Girl's Toy maybe was the most memorable song in it.
I KNEW I recognized that phrasing from somewhere!!!
Really cool to see how jax, for a second in time, opened himself up a little and just like had a casual conversation
EDIT: Wanted to put this here as thats probably the best way people will see it (with this comment having 8k likes wowzas!); When Caine assesses gangle’s performance for the day there are two things I want to point out:
One, The images teapots in the office is a reference to this one teapot(it has a name, I just forgot it) that many modelers use as a placeholder or test.
Good job

I like how Cane is not being rude or mean to Gangle during the "evaluation" yet hurting them, he is just completely disconnected from what his "employee" feels/thinks
The issue is that unlike them, he's an AI and therefore cannot truly feel or understand how others are feeling.
Because he`s is an AI
Why do I feel like that Caine would be the employee at McDonald’s that always forgets what people order
I mean, it's just like in real-life jobs, so...
But then hit by the truck

@@valhatan3907 no that was before

so, I guess no one is gonna talk about the fact that pomni literally had to overcome such a great internal battle just so she could tell gumigoo to have a nice day rather than let him know what's' really happening.

Gooseworx also said something about how it’s funny how everyone is talking about Evil Ragatha considering episode 5 or something like that. We’ll see!
Ooh, I didn't remember Gooseworx said that. I'm even more excited for the next episode now 🔥
She also just called her annoying so
Seeing Ragatha's true thoughts about everyone this episode was really fascinating.
AWWEE
Frr it felt like an anime tbh and the feeling to be free of your own prison.

FR BEST ONE YET
15:19 Love how Pomni is surprised/on guard when Jax just asks how she’s doing, as though this is the first time he hasn’t tried messing with her. I think antagonising others might be how he copes, that was taken away from him this episode and we see just how down in the dumps he got.

Ponmi × gumigoo forever 💛💚 ❤💙
Hopes he gets a better way to cope by the series end
Or atleast be less violent with it-
I really liked that scene, hope that next episodes we get more interactions between Jax and Pomni
Gangle's struggle is very relatable. Wonder episode once again. This team continues to amaze me
I watch this with my 70 year old dad, and he said what he likes most about TADC are the "small moments of kindness" like when Pomni offers to close for Gangle, or Zooble reassuring Gangle they're cared about and to join their group again. His favorite was last episode with Kinger comforting Pomni ❤
Damn your dad is wholesome lol
How did he feel about the 'angel' last episode? Genuinely curious. 👀
“Kindness might not cost anything but it means everything.”
Funny, I got my elderly father into this show too. He really likes it.
tell your dad he's awesome
I love the message Gangle gives. That it's okay to be sad and that there's no need to force yourself to be happy all the time.
I love to see how everyone is warming up with each other they're a big family in a world none of them want to be stuck in
Makes me wonder what the big finale will be
@Nicolas-x6v I just love how I predicted for myself that Zooble and Gangle are friends and I believe Zooble is a very sweet person you can talk to pretty well. I think they are good at listening.
I agree with Jax sentence. Right at 3:11, or actually, just make it instant chaos. That’ll be relaxing and fun.
And that kids is the shower thoughts winning (but seriously tho can she see out of the other eye?)
Honestly, I think it was pretty cool that the special sauce sort of made her say her true feelings, and I have the same question, can she see out of her button eye?!
Agreed, and I think she can probably see out the button
Well, Kinger can hold his breath without a mouth or nose. So why wouldn't she be able to see out of a button eye?
Better question, WHAT THE HELL WAS THAT HELLSPAWN THAT RESEMBLED GANGLE!
Uww Gangle made me cry :( 😢 sometimes I feel like her and the fact that I wanted to do manga and something with her drawings too 😭😭 He became my favorite character 😭
being tired and treating Pomni normally. Poni: 🤨 ah?
Love the visuals when Gangle throws her “happy” mask. Then the happy mask looks sad and the sad mask looks happy. Pretty simple way to illustrate the complexities of emotion.
That truck was pretty happy too.

I actually loved seeing more from Jax this episode. I like the moments where he’s just acting normal and not rude.
Me too
He was getting tortured this episode 😭
Yeah. It was satisfying to see Gangle finally getting back at him (in a way), and I felt vaguely sorry for him by the end of this episode.
I love how he was legit like 'I legit did not mean to do that.. this time' after breaking Gangle's mask XD
Useless episode

Should have written that it's going to be wastage of time
19:47 bro NOBODY would have expected that epic cutscene! 🤩
The fact it was Zooble who introduced Gangle to the mask also adds to this- a friend with experience here offering something that might fit for Gangle
Definitely my new favourite episode all in all, likely in part due to Gangle being my favourite character
Yeah I went through like 6 antidepressants before landing on the one I'm on now. It's the only one that's worked for longer than a year. Such a nice feeling when you finally do find the right one.
@@wolfmoon256 YEARS!?!?? That's a thing that can happen? 😟
The fact that as soon as Jax leaves the building he just, stops smiling really indicates more about his character, like as soon as he’s alone he just gives up on the “smile all the time” thing, I can’t wait to learn more about him and his facade, he’s definitely a jerk don’t get me wrong, but something is definitely up
same, every episode has been tailored to a certain characters backstory and i cant wait to see jax's episode
My farts are better than GLITCH’s farts
Yes sir
Kind of mirroring Gangle’s conflict of wearing a smile as a mask
True.
At 18:31 I loved the detail of Grangle's happy mask's eyes turning the exact shape of the sad mask. Makes me wonder what would have happened if Pomni wasn't there
Probably would have walked into traffic either way
@@calpic9748 I think they mean to imply that gangle would've abstracted.
Ainda bem que a Gangle não morreu se não eu teria chorado 😭
i love gangle’s character. the whole idea of the new mask representing suppressing or “masking” how you feel, and the new small details that might be about her life before the circus (a shift manager at a fast food place who wanted to have their own web comic)
Ok im getting a bit matpat here but i think the part where she got hit by a truck could imply that maybe in the past she got a head injury so she was tranferred to a program (the digital circus)
Idk random theory lol i need sleep
@@Doweeto oh wow, that is perfectly possible. Imagine everyone on the digital circus is already dead or smth, and they were all transfered there without memories of those events.

Near the beginning, it seemed gangle remembered a part of her actual life since she stated “being a shift manager was my job at one point”. I also love like how relatable and true she is. And like is her drawings also connected to her past?
Also, it sounded like ragatha was talking about her childhood when she was out of it. Something about dance lessons.

❤ i have cancer the only way to help me cure it is to join the servers in my bio ❤ 😭
Even down to the Truck-kun lol..
But it seemed like the fall was accidental

"I just want to wish you a pleasant day; thank you for eating at Spudsy's."
I think this line from Pomni really shows how well she's developed since the Pilot. Instead of still being in denial about her new life and trying desperately to get Gumigoo to remember her, she accepts the situation for what it is and allows Gumigoo to leave, but also using her CR roleplay to convey how she still cherishes her first real friend in the Amazing Digital Circus.
