Wow, part 1 and part 2 of this review series really did the DA50 RG justice. Can't wait for part 3.

This is my dream airplane. I only just got signed off on tail draggers last week, and as much I love tail wheels, nothing appeals to me like this Diamond does. Next stop, high performance and complex!

The glow plugs are used to heat up the combustion chamber just before start and limited time after that. It helps the compression ignition to fire up quickly, especially with cold starts and cold weather.

Nice... Micke with his "pet tug". LOL!
Fuel Pressure: What is the difference in pressure with and without the fuel pump?
I just noticed the the diamonds on the engine cover, in front of the windshield and the tail. Nice touch!
Without having flown the DA50, I would have to say my top 3 are:
    1. Safety
    2. Comfort - seating.
    3. Looks of the plane.

Are T Tail stabilizers as strongly mounted as conventional horizontally mounted ones?..they just seemed more flimsy to me..Thoughts?

You guys assuming anybody flying a Cirrus when faced with a problem just pull parachute immediately, couldn’t be further from the truth 🙄 that’s like saying fighter pilot is poorly trained because he has the ejection option. Poor taste to hate on a safety feature for an aircraft. I also found it funny that the diamond “demo pilot” couldn’t confidently say the glow plugs heat up the engine because it’s cold out 😂

Roomy plane, good payload, Fadec diesel engine, but underpowered - too slow with limited range compared to a Cirrus.

And expensive. I don’t understand why anyone would buy a DA50 when a far more capable DA62 isn’t that much more.
