Im flying DA62 in Flight Simulator and its amazing how acurate the instruments and functions are. Seeing the real thing takes it to the next level, great video, appreciated!
Great video as always. Very interesting to see “for real” IFR in European flying. The console by your right hand for the MFD looks really nice. Also thanks for pointing out the Austrian F1 track!
So glad to see another video!! I thoroughly enjoy watching you fly the DA 62!!!! I have watched your crossing the Atlantic from Austria to Ontario many times and your crossing in the DA42!!! Keep them coming man friend!!!
Hello Micke - you have chosen some very nice music here ... and found a wonderful camera setting - tiptop ... (it looks nice how you are fulfilling your dream - keep it up 👍)
Hi Micke, thank you for sharing! Your best video yet! Even without the Austrian ATC it is very educational. All this fancy equipment makes it look easy. But I know it is not.
Toll geflogen! Danke für das Video. In MSFS ist die DA62 derzeit mein bevorzugter Flieger. Konnte mir einiges abschauen! Besonders das Garmin Keypad ist genial.
Sold my 58P Baron and will pickup my Diamond DA 62 in a few weeks. Thanks for allowing me to observe you flying the 62. Wow, flying with the Garmin 1000nxi glass cockpit looks so easy and enjoyable to fly. Love the simplicity of the power quadrant etc. BTW, your flying mannerism is almost like how I fly. My base is California and I fly the western states, Canadá and Mexico. I just love the space in the D62 with the great open views. You seem to use the O2 mask with ease which provides me comfort that I will have no problem using it.Using my pressurized 57B was simply great. In short, I am gladly leaving twenty century cockpit “steam gauges” and awkard knobs and dials. Hope your flying years to come are pleasant and enjoyable and I hope to mirror your twenty first flying adventures.
Nice job! Good to have all this stuff)) I had to pass some thunderstorms only with stormscope on board and this was interesting..=) Like hunting in the night. Would like to have WX radar)))
In the past, the French had already caused a plane accident on the ground of airport because they spoke French among themselves and the third person didnt understand. Completely unnecessary.
Great decision making!! Looks fun! Would love to do some of these ferry flights! Pretty nice flight deck in the 62! WX radar certainly helps aid the decision making!
Good to see all of the weather data being used like that Micke, it just highlights what a great machine it is. Was the lightening far away? Stormscope didn’t seem to pick it up. Great work as always.
Like some others watching this, I'm here as a flight simulator player who has only ever had the chance to fly a virtual version of this aircraft, and my god what a beauty the real thing is. In the game it feels so incredible to handle, I can only imagine how much fun it must be flying the real thing. Dream goals for if I ever have that kind of money to splash around. Side-note but I like the built in checklist function those Garmins have, the ones in the simulator annoyingly don't have that feature so I have to have it all written down.
Spannender Flug! Habe gesehen, dass du viel den Datalink nutzt-hatte immer den Eindruck dieser sei eher eine Notlösung für Flieger ohne Radar. Anscheinend nicht - wieder was gelernt 😃
Beautiful plane and great flight !!! Our Airforce is about to buy some of these for Border patrol, etc .Greetings from Patagonia Argentina !!! 🏁🇦🇷🏴🇩🇪
You made a great video. I think non pilot can have now an idea of an workload of small airplanes. I explain that autopilot thing more as an bus driver (line pilot),cab driver (commercial) , and road driver ppl/ifr as smaller the airplanes get as less automatization they have. the DA62,42 is a dream compared to traditional airplanes (PA32, baron etc) so autopilot is more for relaxing and supporting you as pilot in small airplanes not for totally making pilot redundant
What's the oxygen thing all about? Is that because the cabin is not pressurized? But the O2 is an optional package right? So what happens if you don't have it? You just pass out at 20,000 feet or something?! 🤨
Maybe worth to mention : for the "normal" general aviation (microlights or MTOW up to 2 tonnes) the two prominent airports (Cannes-Mandelieu and La Mole) are now way to expensive (landing and handling) since they are operated by a "private" company. No problem of course, if you can afford the jet and the yacht...
I would absolutely love to sit next to you for a flight and actually see the autopilot and pilot co-managing the flight. I've flown like 60 times, but casual flights. I have to say that this would be the most amazing birthday gift 😁
33:20 - "Its always the auto pilot" - so how do I sign up for the pax seat? I seriously wish that was a real offer, you are one of the most professional pilots on YT and I've learnt so much watching your videos.
Hi Micke, it requires extreme care in descending to mountainous areas in thunderstorm and rainy weather. Because during storm, there are instant changes and you may suddenly lose visual referans with the ground and terrains. Believe me , it is very difficult to turn back to IFR flight again at that point, if you don't have previously planed a "BACKUP" plan!!! Unfortunately, there are many crashes that happen because of this in General Aviation. While flying in this type of weather conditions, it is very important for flight safety that you keep the IFR flight to the minimums for the relevant approach, request radar vectors to avoid weather if necessary, concentrate completely on instrument flight and weather around you and use automation as much as possible... Don't hesitate to disturb the Air Traffic Controller's because that's their job... When flying alone, their help will be like the co-pilot sitting next to you, please disturb them :) Then, when you land safely, you go to them and get something to drink ;) Have a safe and fantastic fights...
@@MickeLang Exactly Micke, you certainly handled the situation very well. My intention wasn't to judge you, it was just contribute to your video as your colleague. Let's call it colleague solidarity... Sometimes, some things in videos can be misunderstood by the viewers. My comment was not about what you did, but to emphasize the difficulty and seriousness of the conditions you are in and how does a pilot handle it as you did... (On the other hand, your videos are really superb, please keep going, many thanks)
Hello! I've seen that at the beginning of the track there is a strange Papi. As far as i know the Papi has 4 lights that must show 2 red and 2 white. In your video the Papi has 5 lights and all of them are green. That kind of Papi is that?
Great video! What was the aproximate average speed for this flight? I saw that for most of the flight it was around 150kts. The flight was around 3 hours long? Thanks. Greetings from Mexico!

Whats the simulator? MSFS or X-Plane?
Very nice landing at the end... we don't get to see that kind of approach very often :-)

Very interesting video! Thanks for sharing! I love DA62!
Thanks Mate! It‘s a great plane!😊

Flying my absolute dream aircraft here. Great video.
Das war super interessant und spannend, glaube ich gerne, dass das challenging war! Super gemacht, vielen Dank fürs Teilen!
Vielen Dank Frank☺️
Great video, really interesting to see your decision making on a challenging flight!
Thanks😊👍🏼

Thanks you Dave! Next series will be an 62 crossing 😊👍🏼
How many miles were involved in that flight?
Love your aircraft! Good video and nice job navigating the weather.
Love the DA62 what a beautiful plane.
I do agree👍🏼
Yes it's fantastic they just let it down not pressurising it

Hehe, the French hate to keep to english on radio comm's, they don't care if it is international standard :)
Oh I know😂
You don’t travel a lot, you could ear others languages in ATC communications
actually its allowed in France to talk in their native language in ATC
Sécurité appartement n’est pas une priorité
