Hi Elaine. Yes, he is a clean freak. He told me that in America you have to be careful not to get salmonella. I never have. Damir is picky ... all his life.

Thanks for the recipe. It was a fun AND informative video, specially for the daughter-in-law of a talented Serbian Baba and cook, as I happen to be. I´m gonna try to make this one today. Gonna cut the recipe by half because we´re only three in the house. I´m not talented in the kitchen, but I´ll re-watch every minute of this video carefully. Wish me luck!!

Baby...God bless you a d your hands! Admit, kudos to you for wanting to learn your mom's cooking and baking. Food is love. If I may make a suggestion, when you are whipping the egg whites in mixer then you make the simple syrup then you combine the two in a make shift ( clever ) double boiler...well you can condense the process by making the simple syrup then slowly, very slowly pour it in to the whipped egg whites while still beating. Lots of love to you both :)

You don't wash eggs because the water will soak into the eggs and cause contamination.

Sorry, but Baba is correct you do not need to wash eggs as you do not eat the shells...go Baba, you know what you are doing and have been doing it for years through all sorts of world crisis and still alive so...I guess seriously one less thing the new world needs not to wash!!!
