@@Matanumi My first kit was the MG EW Deathscythe and I ended up with some other video game 1/100 scale kits, so I just wanted to keep everything in scale, not to mention master grades just had more small detail and better overall accuracy. The Zeong is actually my first RG kit and I feel like I'm overdosing on small detail. I am absolutely in love with it, but it feels bittersweet to have insisted on MGs and spent well over double the price of the RGs for a product that ultimately feels inferior in the face of their RG counterparts.

Needless to say I was very quickly in way over my head, but I haven't been able to stop my plastic addiction since. Too many kits in the backlog to count at this point, but I can't wait to get my hands on this RG to match with his MG counterpart.

Hi-Nu should always have been taller, since it was just an alternate Nu at first. The short height is an artifact from when Nu was said to be 20m in the old kits, MSVs and novels, and the Hi-Nu was just the slightly bulkier illustration of Nu that Izubuchi drew for the Beltorchika's Children novel. Nu was updated to 22m at some point in the 90s, but when the "slightly bulkier Nu from the novel" became its own design and got the name Hi-Nu, it kept the 20m height from the novel, even after Izubuchi slimmed it down in the early 00s.

I thaught Mecha-G came a bit too hard on the RG Nu Gundam.
I've built the RG Nu, and I built the RG Hi Nu yesterday, and I have to say the two kits are still different, in the sense that they don't render the other one useless.
I mean, if you've built the Hi-Nu, you'll still enjoy the Nu, and find proper differences between the two.
Obviously, the RG Hi-Nu, has more plastic in the box, its design is richer, but yeah, it's how this mecha was designed. It's logical that the kit would be more detailed.
So yeah, the RG Nu is still a great model kit, and isn't render obsolete with the release of the RG Hi-NU.

I 100% agree. If you want this look just buy the MG Ver Ka and some paint and you will just have an even bigger version of this.. And I guess scale isn't that big of a deal.. Unless you have fourty 1/144's on your shelf that have all done a reasonably good job of scale .And then this.. I am really glad I couldn't care less about this kit. Bandai let the customer base down with the low numbers of release.. I swear they are working with resellers to spike the Scalping market... This really should have been a new line.. Definitely not a Real Grade (by prior definition), definitely not a MG. !! RG Unleashed !!

Mecha, you missed the moving collar piece that allows for the head to look even further up and the flap at the back of head allows for the head to move 360 degrees. Also the ankle joints can be pulled down to allow for a much wider range of movement in the foot. I was quite disappointed you never took off the leg to test how far it can bend without the foot leaving the ground. Like you did it with all sorts of kits, but not the "king of gunpla"? C'mon dude.

This... this video blew my mind with everything Hi-Nu has to offer. I might get 2... Still need to get an RG Sazabi.
I feel like when it comes to the RG line up, Gunpla or not, they're testing some stuff out for what would be future kits. For example, the inner skeleton, Advanced MS Joint, is still around to this day, but made in a way where it's more so for smaller stuff. Crossbone and Impules' core fighters are a good example along with Nu Gundam's funnels. Unicorn went in with a better plastic and, the biggest one of all, moving parts for it's transformation. Sazabi completely did away with the MS Joint internal skeleton and went with polycaps instead. Making kits incredibly sturdy. Then the insane articulation that is of the Eva Units, especially with those ab crunches. You get the point.
I started my first Gunpla with an RG, Strike Freedom, and since then, it has been my favorite line up. I've done a few HG and SDs before and only recently got into MG with Dynames. I'm looking forward to what Bandai has install for future RG kits.
