    FYI, the PC issue is a Windows driver issue, not a controller issue.
    Windows assumes default calibration parameters, and isn't reading the calibration data correctly for the Switch pro controller. I've had this same exact issue on my potentiometer-based original Pro Controller.
    Steam also suffers this issue, where it does not properly read the on-board calibration data which is required to ensure the output is correct.

    Did mine during the beta testing. The included sticks are slightly taller and the top of the stick is like the steam deck's to me - so smooth that my thumbs slide off of it. I recommended getting a grip cap on it. With regards to the centering of it, I played an entire playthrough of rebirth where the left stick click is sprint when not in battle and the right is lock on. So far everything is still dead center.

    • @Ice_2192

      @@H786... no latency. How ever just today actually I noticed the the controllers were sticky. Turns out the stick modules were not sticky at all it was the skull candy rubber cap that was hitting the controller when I return to neutral position. When I compared it to the original controller turned out that the modules are like 1 mm deeper making the caps run against the black plastic. If you use the sticks without the rubber caps you have no problem.

      Does anyone know if any of those modules can be used with the Xbox One Elite Controller (V1)? I have a bunch of them that I still use, the V2 is garbage, but I would like someh all effect sticks for them.

    • @eeedawg1019
      @eeedawg1019 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@cheater00 I can’t say with 100% certainty but I’ve heard it’s not recommended to use the TMR or hall sticks in the elite controllers because the elite controllers have extra magnets that interfere with the sensors in the modules. I’ve also heard that apparently the elite controllers don’t have calibration software so if you install the modules, they might be way off and not able to be corrected. I don’t have an elite controller anymore so can’t test this but if you open the Xbox accessories app and you have the ability to calibrate the sticks, that would quickly answer that.

    The plastic will rub in the shell, Nerrel confirmed this in his video. You should apply a tiny amount of grease such as Super Lube (do not use WD-40 that is not a lubricant) to reduce plastic shaving happening on the controller shell. (This is a common technique used on N64 controllers and pretty much fixes the issue entirely)

Just wanted to point out that their is a way to get a good calibration of the switch pro controller on pc, but you need to use a program called Joycon Toolkit to dumb the pro controllers rom and use a hex editor to copy the switch calibration to the default calibration that is used on PC.

    • @SIGNALacquired
      @SIGNALacquired 23 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      No. Hall effect and TMR (Tunnel magnetoresistance) are different technologies. But they are both electromagnetic.
      But TMR is more power efficient.
      According to their product page on TMR see their website:
      1. Why do the replacement joysticks for Sony, Microsoft, and Nintendo's original controllers need to use TMR electromagnetic joysticks rather than Hall electromagnetic joysticks?
      The original design of Sony, Microsoft, and Nintendo game controllers uses traditional resistive film joystick technology with a constant power supply design, with a power capacity limited to about 1mA. The power consumption of single TMR sensor is between 0.1mA and 0.3mA, while single linear Hall sensor consume 0.5mA to 2mA. This makes linear Hall sensors can not work very well, while the TMR electromagnetic joystick have lower power consumption and perform much better, and TMR electromagnetic joystick can be installed as a perfect 1:1 replacement without any other circuit modifications.

    • @Vizr.
      @Vizr. 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      It works. Even with all the magnet intact. You just need something to lower the Interference for LT or just use the triggers stops.
      If you want ALPS tension sticks. You need to add Emi protection. And the biggest issue is the magnetic dome. So if you can DIY one or remove the magnetic piece at the bottom without deforming it or 3d print one and use a screw to changed tension then it's doable.
      I have a video from a build in July with them installed. To show if the magnets would to anything. It's a gabble. I've done two purchases in the last month. And it seems some sellers are offloading old product with the range/overshoot issue.

    Any information on if an _Xbox _*_Elite_*_ Wireless Controller Series 2_ compatible variant with their custom Stems will be released? 🤔
    What about the possibility of buying Series 2 compatible Sticks and grafting the Guli Potentiometers onto them? 🤨

    Do you know if any of those modules can be used with the Xbox One Elite Controller (V1)? I have a bunch of them that I still use, the V2 is garbage, but I would like someh all effect sticks for them.

    Installed them in one of my Xbox Series controllers and the set came with a faulty joystick (yes, I was using the correct version). It would not calibrate correctly. Gulikit is not known for their QC unfortunately.

      This is actually a problem with Microsoft's calibration software, there are several reports of problems related to this software.

    • @Kris-Zed
      @Kris-Zed 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@tiagodias3325 the issue people seem to be having is the calibration tool going outside the maximum joystick range. One of the modules I received worked perfectly after one calibration. The module that was defective would not reach maximum joystick range even after numerous calibration attempts. There are reports on Reddit of other's having this issue. I don't think it's just a Microsoft problem.

    Bro, almost 18$ for 2 sticks is crazy, I don't care that they give me caps, you can get cheap caps anyways. Got 2 pcs hall effect for 5.49 on ali, took my controller to an acquaintance to replace one joystick(the other does not need replacement for now, right one of course, used less).
    I will update here once I get it and calibrate it.
    18$ for 2 joystick is crazy, 3x that(or a little bit more) and you get a new controller. Small parts like that should not exceed like 8$, I get if it's one of the boards that need replacing but 18$ for joysticks, nah bro. Talking about a Series X controller btw.

    • @VKsChannel

      Those other modules you need to calibrate manually and they also have added latency and jitter

    • @AndyB243
      @AndyB243 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@VKsChannel I got the controller with the changed joystick, went in the accesories app, calibrated it and it seems fine, I played Spider-Man and rocket league with it and it seemed fine. The only thing I saw when calibrating in the app was that it moved just a little when pressing the left trigger(so the one close to it) but it didn't move that much so nothing moved like I would've moved the joystick.
      If those from gulikit or another company makes joysticks that are not moved by the trigger at all and don't need manual calibration(still don't understand exactly what you are referring to, if it's something else than calibrating in xbox accessories app) for like max 10$, that would be a fair price, 18$ is too much, at least for eastern europe(for America and W EU sure, maybe).
