I got 10 pairs of these. the actualy mechanism of the joystick was very slighly off center but thats pretty much it. Someone made a report on it and they shut down orders until better batch comes in. also the sensors can be swapped on an ALPS stick if you really wanted to. gave it them the OEM feel the are supposed to have
Your channel is so informative thank you for all the time you put into your videos you should be a teacher you make it easy to understand how everything works 💯
Hi, I really like your channel and your reviews. What I find important as a FPS gamer is the feeling of pressing the thumbsticks so R3 and L3. Could you take this in account in the reviews? I'm also curious how this is with the GuliKit TMR/K-silver, I've installed the Ginfull hall effect sensors and the R3 / L3 don't feel the same als the original ALPS sticks. Thanks in advance!
Man, I understand what you mean, but the problem with Gamesir is not the analog stick, but the idiotic aiming algorithms that they have been modifying over the year.
Hi, would love to see membrane buttons replacement video on ps 4 controller with an iron, it's for select and share button , there are membrane buttons on the board.
Does that normal joystick cap/dome of Dualshock/Dualsense work with Gulikit TMR sensors? I don't really like the included Gulikit joystick cap/dome because it's slippery in my thumbs
Magnificent video thanks, one question though, for a casual gamer like me who mostly playes story games and maybe a few hours of online some days, which joystick module you recommend the best? 1. Guliket 2. KSilver 3. Favor union 4.Gingul I only care about durability of the joystick (not getting stick drift soon) not the sensitivity.
Nice review. Maybe these will inspire gulikit to lower prices. having installed and used the gulikit I prefer the stiffness of them and along with the original sticks in place the controller just feels more precise. For me personally do not want to go softer. On my next change out I’ll try the gulikit sticks and purchase their stick kit I run extension now so who knows. Thanks again your review just helps me be confident with my choices. Keep up the good work.
Excellent review. Bit of a bummer to see how these K-silvers are slightly more prone to magetic interference given their sensor is slightly more sensitive, but I don't even know if this would be a noticeable issue. Any plans on a followup video for these? Would love to see testing to check whether these sensors + magnets will fit and function completely normally on the factory Alps stick boxes. Desoldering through-hole components from a dualsense motherboard via hand soldering is such a battle compared to other controllers. Desoldering Alps potentiometers from a Dualsense is managable, but the stick boxes and even tact switch can be mega stubborn; I've usually had to resort to cutting the boxes apart whenever a repair or mod requires removal of the old Alps stick boxes. Also, any plans to test whether these will function nicely on the Ginful stick boxes? Jun-Zheng's hall effect mod from last year gave an option for modifying a K-silver hall sensor to fit Ginful boxes (by clipping the 3 positioning pegs on the K-silver sensor housings). I'd imagine these new K-silver TMR sensors and boxes have the same fitment as their Hall-effect counterparts. I really like the Ginful stick boxes as they're buttery smooth compared to everything else I've tried.
They won't fit well on the Alps frames. The magent holders will be a loose fit. I believe too many modifications would be needed for a good fit on the Alps or the Ginfull frames. The higher magnetic sensitivity is not going to be a problem. And here is a video with some ideas about removing the joystick with basic tools th-cam.com/video/slxgHcYHnm8/w-d-xo.htmlsi=tGo70onOhf2oIAYT .
@metalplasticelectronics354 thanks for getting back. A shame about the lack of cross compatibility with the Alps frame's wiper/magnet holder given how much similarity there is elsewhere. Thanks for linking the removal video. Yup, I use the cutting method. Feels awful being so destructive but rather that than lifted traces and damaged through holes.
Much lower electricity consumption, half or even less than half effect. Much quicker response times. More resolution, finer registering of the direction in which you are moving the stick. Les flickering.
@@metalplasticelectronics354 Thanks. I bought a 10pc v5 Hall Effect set so gonna install those. If for whatever reason I am not satisfied, I will buy the TMRs.
Hello, I would like to know which is the best magnetic joystick, especially that the sensitivity is not noticeable because I saw that it is high in magnetic joysticks and could affect the precision in games.
The K-Silver TMR and the GuliKit TMR are about the same. The GuliKit comes with what I think are some of the best thumb knobs but the GuliKit is a lot more expensive.
I have a joblot of Xbox 360 controllers with stick drift. I tried ordering replacements from AliExpress but they are terrible. Do they make anything actually good for the 360?
@@AnotherGuy909Then look for older videos on this channel. There are several options to replace only the "sides" of the module. You can install, I believe the GuliKit TMR sides of the module, and the Favor Union Hall Effect module sides, and put them on an ALPS module.
You are always the best one.. can you please try this one High Quality Kailh Analog Joystick Potentiometer For Game Controller PS3 PS4 PS5 from ali express its expensive and I really want your review please
I looked at ordering some quite a while back. I know the ads say for the PS5 but the only values I've seen for the joystick potentiometers are 10K Ohm. That is the value for the DualShock 4 controller. If you have a link for some 2.1 or 2.3K Kailh joysticks you can email me at mike@mlplel.com. thanks.
for now I only see this joystick available for dualsense, would be great if they expand it to xbox and dualshock 4. still gonna pick gulikit for that recentering and availability, it's easier to get gulikit's sticks here
Yes, these need to have the same shape of an ALPS module (also made by Favor Union), because those are the ones installed on a current 1st party controller (DualSense, XBOx Series, Nintendo Switch Pro). KSilver also makes modules for bespoke gamepads, and there they are free to use the shape they see best for their modules, as the controller is made around, and for, the kSilver modules they make. But the company is the same, the tech is the same, and I guess the sensor is the same. Maybe not, since current gamepads with KSilver modules are ready for 1000,Hz polling rate, and maybe 2000hz (BigBig Won Blitz 2 TMR)
I put GuliKit joysticks in my Scuf Reflex FPS because i play CoD games a lot, and i noticed the difference, GuliKit is more precise and a little slower than the original ALPS. I need to calibrate the stick range again because this ideal circularity is not good for games, better to calibrate like the ALPS has, with about 10% errors. ALPS is the best joystick ever made but with a problem of stick drift (we all understand why). 😃

I think they are about the same.

Great review! A new budget king.

I would go with the TMR joysticks, the GuliKit, or the K-Silver. I would expect the life of the joysticks to be about the same for all 4.

I believe GuliKit has a thumb knob extension kit that fits the knobs that come with the DualSense TMR kit. I haven't tried it so I can't say for sure.

amazing review, it does seem like tmr is the future. but sony or nintendo would still use their potentiometer sticks for obvious reasons 😂
Thanks for the video. Can you maybe give some more details about what makes TMR so much better than the Hall-Effect?
Much lower electricity consumption, half or even less than half effect.
Much quicker response times.
More resolution, finer registering of the direction in which you are moving the stick.
Les flickering.
@blorbb5398 Thanks. I just bought myself some v5 hall effect modules to upgrade my PS5 controllers. Hopefully they work well.
@jojopojo9516 v5 are super good, and I am telling you first hand. I have then installed in a dualsense.
Less power consumption, less noise, and apparently faster response time.

which one has the hardest tension on the joystick, Ginfull V5 hall effect or those TMR K-silver?
I feel that Ginfull is the softest of all the joystick brands I've tested.
@@metalplasticelectronics354 So TMR K-Silver would be near similar to the original ALPS than Ginfull??
Yes
@@metalplasticelectronics354 Ok, thanks for the advice and for make so interesting helpfull videos
Between the Gulikit and this, which of them has the higher tension?
im not sure but i put gulikit joysticks in my controller and they feel great, i recommend them over k-silver but go with what you want
The GuiliKit ones have more tension.
These KSilver are slightly softer.
Nice
can ya provide a link for xbox series s/x replacement ?

If you aren't getting stick drift then yes
Totally, you would not notice. And the v5 have a wonderful movement feeling.
