      Red Demon I’m not lying or trying to make MJ look good. Just like the other people made assumptions such as GSW doubling Jordan and let Pippen loose for a win I’m stating my opinion without disrespecting others by calling them liars. And yes I still think that he would go to the line many many times. The bad boy pistons doubled or tripled MJ constantly and that never stopped him attacking the rim and they were much better defensively than the GSW which I think you would agree to. And with today’s no touch rules a guy like MJ attacking the rim like that and getting fouled many times only makes sense.

    • @VeliThaDon
      @VeliThaDon 4 ปีที่แล้ว +39

      Dylan Cresswell Well first of all the Warriors did average more blocks but not more steals. Secondly, there’s a lot more to defense than just steals and blocks. It’s possible for a player to be shut down and not allowed to score without the defender recording a single block or steal. Yes, it’s nice to see numbers on the stat sheet but stats don’t tell the whole story. For example, Kevin Durant averages more steals and blocks for his career than Dennis Rodman. KD is a far superior player overall, but defensively he doesn’t even come close to Rodman. Rodman is universally known as a top 10 defensive player of all time and KD has never even made an all defensive team. Lastly, Jordan was able to drop 63 on the 86 Celtics, in an era that they could actually touch him. In this era when you can’t touch him, he’d be damn near impossible to stop. Jordan was go great at scoring that he often told his defenders what he was going to do before he did it and he was still able to score on them. He did that the night he scored his career high 69 points. If Lebron could drop 51 on the 2018 Warriors without a consistent jump shot, and without any real help on his team...Jordan could drop 60.

I happened to have just moved to Schaumburg, Illinois, the exact year of the start of the 2nd 3-peat. I can attest that the Warriors would eat that team up. They were not perfect, by any stretch of the imagination. This Warriors team would have given them a LOT of trouble.

    • @apexperfection740

      The obvious way to explain this to people is that the Utah Jazz ALMOST had the Bulls in an impossible situation, in the Finals. And GSW are 3 times better than that truly great Jazz team. So what if Rodman beats Draymond. He doesn't shut Draymond down totally, and Draymond isn't the main scorer. That matchup is a total wash. Rodman couldn't score, and they both battle each other to the death.

      @Hizuro Nation ... So you actually think leaving Pippen open, as well as other players, is a good thing? Apparently you know nothing about that Bulls team as Pippen played the same position as Lebron (point-forward). Jordan would get the ball whether you wanted him to or not and he was known for his ability to beat the double-team, freeing himself up for the easy basket or making the pass to an open teammate. Stop watching Kobe and thinking that is how MJ played. You have no clue!

    • @ericjordan6059
      @ericjordan6059 5 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      @Hizuro Nation ... Again, you have no knowledge of the game back in those days. Teams such as Boston and LA played what was called a floating zone. Magic was not a good defender so they needed a way to hide that weakness. In 86, MJ dropped 63 on the Celtics actually played that way (look at their setup in the half court... typical 2-3 zone) and you see how well that worked against him(his team were no shows). The zone is very simple to beat but you all make it out to be more than what it really is. Plus, in those days, college players were taught to play zone and man-to-man defense (play against it as well).
      My friend, you need to do more research to learn more about the game.

    • @ericjordan6059
      @ericjordan6059 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hizuro Nation... The way to beat the zone is spreading the floor and passing over the top while players move because the zone follows the ball, not the player. Jordan, Pippen, Harper, and the like were excellent at moving without the ball. This leaves gaps in the defense for midrange jumpers and/or backdoor cuts for easy layups AND And1's for players like Jordan and Pippen.
      I don't even have to discuss their defensive prowess, whether it is straight up, zone, playing the passing lanes, or help defense.

    Mental toughness alone would be the Bulls biggest advantage. MJ & Scottie would gas each other up, make up stuff to motivate themselves. They always talk about teams in the 90's being aloud to defend in that way as a negative if those teams played today. What they always miss about those 90's teams is that not only were they allowed to defend that way, but they were also scoring points against other teams that defended that way. It was a lot tougher to get points back then
    (which is why playing under those rules, 99% of people pick the 96 Bulls to beat the Golden State) yet even still Jordan still scored so many points.
    So imagine the Bulls from 96 playing today, yes not being allowed to defend like that, so ok they concede a few more points, especially 3's, but they also have no one defending like that in front of them, no one stopping Jordan from scoring way more points. Who from Golden State is going to stop Jordan and Pippen getting 70/80 points (or even more), between just the two of them. Then the rest of the Bulls team chipping in points. That's just attacking as they did in 96. But on top of that, they would definitely be able to adjust to the new version of defending to not concede that many more points, plus going for and getting more 3's themselves. I'm not going to say for definite, because you never know, but I would bet a large sum of money that the 96 Bulls would beat 17-19 Golden State, under the old rules and even the current rules.

      @@racedezign336 This video isn't about Lebron, but Ok. It depends on what you mean by help. Lebron had more talent around him in Miami and his 2nd run in Cleveland. But the Bulls had a better team and that's not even close. Great coach/system and the right players to implement it. All of those guys could play defense, rebound, and shoot FT's. Big, physical and mentally tough. Didn't take a lot of 3's but shot them more efficiently than teams today.
      You have to take into account however that MJ *made* those players that way by demanding it from them in practice. If you weren't willing or capable of those things he'd run you out of Chicago or forge it out of you. He didn't just make players around him better by passing them the ball. He forged them into better players. When he played baseball that team compromised of role players with only 1 all star was still 1 game away from the finals. Durant is more than capable of blocking Jordan shot at the rim . Jordan has never seen a player the size of a center that could handle the ball plus he can defend. Jordan would be looking like he did against the bad boy pistons when he lost except these guys can actually shoot the lights out . what's he going to do when hes down by twenty. he going to be exhausted trying to defend these guys. Jordan wouldn't have the energy to score that much because remember in 96 he wasn't getting younger.

    • @bryanduran5039
      @bryanduran5039 6 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      What do you mean man? With today's rules, Jordan would have way more energy to score because he wouldn't be getting as banged up as he would have in the 90s. KD has the height not the size of a center, even if he were to block a few, it still wouldn't matter because Jordan would just keep attacking every next possession and posterize him. Do you not remember Jordan dunking on Hakeem?
      If they played with the 90s rules, Bulls would just abuse Golden State on both sides of the court.

In todays game it is a harder decision to mark the 3 point shot tight because there is more space in behind. Therefore from my point of view the 3 point shot is easier to shoot (less pressure, more space).

Pippen, Jordan, Rodman and Harper are all elite defenders. really the only way to beat the Bulls were to pound them down low (which is why teams like the Jazz, Sonic's and Pacers were the only teams to manage to win games against that 2nd three peat team). The Warriors can't do that. being such a perimeter orientated team actually plays to the bulls strength. Matching them up against the showtime Lakers whould be more interesting.

      I hate Warrios but they are really good and they have KD, Curry and Thompson... They against Lakers 01? It's tie

      @@eyeconqueror1185 Yeah I agree I wouldn't call them scrubs. They just weren't offensive scorers but that worked because Iverson liked to shoot the majority of the shots. All those guy's were great defenders. Eric Snow, Arron Mckie, George Lynch and Tyrone Hill were all solid players that could play defense. Theo Ratliff was playing really great as the second best player but then got traded for Mutombo who was also great in that role.

    If you hooked Steve Kerr (he played for the Bulls and coaches the Warriors) up to a polygraph machine, he'd either chose the Bulls... or his deception readings would be of the charts.

    Three of the top defensive players of all time MJ, Pippen, and Rodman (also top rebounder of his time), , and an unheralded defensive star Ron Harper, reliable sixth men Tony Kukoc and Steve Kerr, a decent center Luc Longley and Bill Wennington, James Edwards and John Salley. Hard team to beat. great on defense and top players ever at shooting guard, power forward and small forward.

    Both teams can obviously score and you can probably give the scoring edge to Warriors. But as for rebounding and defense the Bulls are much better than the Warriors.
