Maybe the history said that they didn't "need" KD, but I doubt they will ever win in a series against Prime Lebron and his healthy team. In 2022, LeBron has passed his prime. In short, they need KD to beat the LeBron Cavs, specifically.
Him joining the warriors ruined an all time rivalry between bron and curry. They was at 1-1. Imo bron was going back to back. But KD shifted the balance. Also, the reason why people criticize Durant is not because he left OKC he left them to the team he JUST choked a 3-1 lead to in the playoffs. If he woulda gone for example to Houston with Harden and beaten GS to a ring, it woulda been legendary.
Honestly, the Warriors got so lucky with the Rockets injuries like still, they got pushed to game seven that Houston teams would’ve crushed the Cavaliers
I grew up less than a mile from oracle arena, Steph was drafted the year I was born and I will never forget this era of not just nba history but my life. They put Oakland on the map and I will forever be grateful to have grown up in this city at this time. (2017 warriors are clapping 96 bulls btw)

No one knows , its game 1, even kawhi didnt get hurt, warriors still win in that series cuz curry, klay and kd still hungry in winning championship rings no one cant stop this trio
Well they won a chip before and after they left and made a lot of teams irrelevant. Even 2018 playoff LeBron which I consider the best form of him couldn’t take down that team. We know KD is good but until he wins a chip without the warriors or a super team he probably will keep being disrespected.
They eventually won in 2022. That speaks volumes on how good that team was without KD. They also won in 2015. Having said that, I think that the 2017 GSW is the best team ever assembled.
Yep they both needed each other just to beat Bron. That 2015 title was Bs due to those injuries. When the cavs were healthy they beat GSW. So clearly KD and the GSW both needed each other. Idk why people can't see that. Kyrie and love don't get hurt in 2015. Cavs prob won those back to back. And would've made KD move even more logical. Nobody would be saying what they are saying now
Ya’ll can get triggered all you want but it’s the truth. I agree the cavs looked strong and bron definitely had a good shot at carrying the cavs forward. He clearly proved that. I’m not a Lebron fan at all but the proof is in the pudding.
As a warriors fan. This was the greatest move they did acquiring KD without getting rid of the big 3 is huge and all those crying are lebron fans to be honest 😂😂
As a die hard 90s Bulls fan, no doubt that KD's Warriors is the greatest team ever assembled, especially the last version....the 2018/19 with the Cousin, Pole and all that bench. Only injuries could stop them
Raptors beat them twice in the regular season (both times, the Warriors were 100% healthy). It's just a shame that BOTH teams were so crippled for the Finals. Raptors were without OG (their most versatile defender) and both Lowry and Kawhi were playing with injuries (Lowry had a hand issue requiring major surgery and Kawhi injured his leg/knee at the end of the Bucks series).
@@Paulafan5 at that point warriors did not take the regular season serious at all. When kd came back against raptor for that 1 quarter they were destroying the raptors. Plus they got raptors to 6 games and only started losing when klay got injured.

@@patrickoloko4184 I still believe the 72-10 Bulls are the greatest team of all time. However, just by a razor thin edge with all the skill and spacing of today's game. I would like to call myself at the time a die hard thunder fan, so when. KD left I was irate; but I’m older now and wiser. He went there and got 2 rings, and had THEE best offensive PER season in nba history. I’m not gonna say I respect what he did, but he definitely got results with that move. There’s so many great players that never got rings, Love em or hate em he made a tough but smart decision. That was one of the best teams I’ve ever witnessed in basketball personally. It was a fun time, respect KD 🫡
As painful as it sounds, losing Game 7 in 2016 was a blessing in disguise for DubNation. All that loss did was unleash an active volcano on the rest of the NBA. Kevin Durant's arrival signaled one thing. "CLEVELAND YOU'RE A DEAD MAN WALKING!" Not to say the Cavs weren't pushovers, they had come back from 3-1, and most of if not their entire 2016 team would be back in 2017. However, I must admit this. The only time I've never ever gotten nervous during a single playoff run of any of my teams was the 2017 Warriors. I made the point that this team may never lose again. Their only loss was Game 4 of the Finals where the Cavs got off to a ridiculously hot start and never looked back. Other than that game Game 3 against Cleveland, and Game 1 against San Antonio were the Dubs ever in a position to lose a game during that postseason. 2018 I thought would be more of the same. But then we realized that the Houston Rockets were going to make us earn every minute of that series. The Chris Paul injury was a big blow, but thats not why they were eliminated. The Rockets got beat at their own game. The 3 ball. You tried to copy us Houston, but to no avail. And by the way, enjoying missing 27 straight 3-pointers. The Finals was a coronation other than the overtime epic in Game 1. Once JR Smith didn't know what he was doing, the Cavs were dead on arrival. 2019 would be considered a What If by most Warrior fans, but to be honest, they got outplayed by Toronto. When you lose all 3 games at home regardless of who is out there, thats not a good look. I know KD was hurt, and Klay tore his ACL in Game 6, but there's no excuse to go 0-3 at home especially losing the final game at Oracle to lose the series. I do think it was best that KD left for the Nets only in the sense that both he and Steph wanted to prove that they could win a title without the other. Durant hasn't really come close other than in 2021, and Steph was able to win it all in 2022. That team like the 2015 Warriors had 30, 11, and 23 leading the way with their Strength in Numbers motto of unsung heroes making key contributors helping them out. Who knows if the Dubs will make it back, but I must say this. Boy, what a joy it was to watch those teams, especially 2015-18 play.

Maybe the history said that they didn't "need" KD, but I doubt they will ever win in a series against Prime Lebron and his healthy team. In 2022, LeBron has passed his prime. In short, they need KD to beat the LeBron Cavs, specifically.
There is something called "in the moment" and they definitely needed him for those 2 years... plus the nba world changed since he left...don't be dumb
Lebron with healthy teammates beat them before and after durant...they needed him
The most fair assessment of the KD / Warriors saga i have heard yet.
OSM videos guys keep it up :)
I think he played with Harden before and wanted something new
Greatest Offseason Signing Of All Time!!!
Your the best bro
Man I wish I still lived in this time it was so fun watching bball just isn’t the same :(
KD and the warriors was special 💯 bron bron fans/cavs fans still bitter 😂
Honestly, the Warriors got so lucky with the Rockets injuries like still, they got pushed to game seven that Houston teams would’ve crushed the Cavaliers
man stop it lebron would never lose to james harden in the finals🤣🤣🤣🤣
TBF Rockes' star players James Harden and CP3 are known to be injury prone. Rockets GM is to blame for betting on their health.
You joking right you got to past a lebron team dude
I’m sorry but they probably would’ve won 1 chip if CP3 didnt get injured
Btw I am talking about the warriors
Please please do a video on the Toronto Raptors run to a championship in 2019
What I liked about this warriors team was their bench, those bench guys were also great and most of the time score a lot when they have the lead.
I grew up less than a mile from oracle arena, Steph was drafted the year I was born and I will never forget this era of not just nba history but my life. They put Oakland on the map and I will forever be grateful to have grown up in this city at this time.
(2017 warriors are clapping 96 bulls btw)
most definitely. they would destroy the bulls. the only people that say otherwise are oldheads with nostalgia.
Question: What if KD stacked the deck again? Request a trade to the top 2seeds in each conference and stacked the deck again after that? Then enters the GOAT DEBATE
Fax warriors were insane
A GREAT video. A reminder of who the Warriors really are.
if kawhi didn't get hurt in game 1, spurs would have beaten them
yeah sure.............. whatever helps you sleep at night buddy
Sure buddy sure
You’ll never know that lol
No one knows , its game 1, even kawhi didnt get hurt, warriors still win in that series cuz curry, klay and kd still hungry in winning championship rings no one cant stop this trio
Not very likely but yes there was a chance. That spurs team with kawhi was special, they always matched up well vs gsw.
The Bulls still are the greatest team of all-time
lmao the warriors would be shooting 3s all over them
Nice video
"Because he was Kd it worked" 🥶🥶🥶 (12:45)
Goddman even this video skipped out Mark Jackson’s role in the birth of the dynasty wtf
Brought up don nelson but skipped right over Mark Jackson aka the guy who got the dubs into playoffs
One of the best final performances by kd
Michael Jordan said, "But did you 3PEAT??"
Yall need to respect KD more. And it's more of a shame that Warriors fans don't give him respect
na
Well they won a chip before and after they left and made a lot of teams irrelevant. Even 2018 playoff LeBron which I consider the best form of him couldn’t take down that team. We know KD is good but until he wins a chip without the warriors or a super team he probably will keep being disrespected.
@@quentinhans4755 you have a warped understanding of what greatness is
@@adekunle4672 na you defo do, he is 100% correct
The "Warriors fans" that hate on KD are just insecure Curry dickriders mad that he wasn't best player during their 2 rings together
And had to hurt Khawi Leonard to secure a win vs the spurs and lost to the guy on 2019. Khawi the Dubs killer!
I agree
Kawhi on one leg beat the Warriors in 2019. He had some leg/knee injury he suffered at the end of the ECF.
@@Paulafan5 Warriors was depleted in 2019 clown
as much as it was snake for kd to join them, the value he provided proved they also needed him
They eventually won in 2022. That speaks volumes on how good that team was without KD. They also won in 2015.
Having said that, I think that the 2017 GSW is the best team ever assembled.
I love Kd, but I am not sure if he would have a ring if he did not join the warriors
Everybody can say what they want but that warriors team needed KD as much as KD needed that warriors team.
Stop💀
Obviously! Lol without KD bron was gon be in in 2017 again
Nobody would be saying what they are saying now
They won a championship and we're one game away from another...they could have gotten any reasonably good player to get back on top
Ya’ll can get triggered all you want but it’s the truth. I agree the cavs looked strong and bron definitely had a good shot at carrying the cavs forward. He clearly proved that. I’m not a Lebron fan at all but the proof is in the pudding.
Warriors vs Cavs 2017 were just perfectly matched. The original core were all drafted and Cavs core are all traded to form a superteam
If they were perfectly matched the cavs wouldn't have lost in 5
@@sportstalkonly1442 not the Warriors fault
@@user-dq1ow5ql7e never said it was. I only said they weren't perfectly matched
if they are perfectly magtched, then 96 bulls would beat 2017 warriors
They looked perfectly matched in 2016 and then they added the 2nd or 3rd best player in the world and it's still even?
Fun team to watch. Everyone here in Northern California was rooting for em
KD followed a principle
’If you can’t beat them, join them’
72-10 don't mean a thing without a ring.
73-9
So... it goes us another two in the end!! And a 7 game series is no slouch. That's as close as it gets
lmao 73-9 is more meaningful than a ring. I forget who even won the last 5 rings but I'm never forgetting a team getting 73-9
@@dar7279 This is peak basketball retardation right here. Dumbest of the dumbest comment.
2017 sweep 96 bulls
they were struggling with hobbled kawhi and injured spurs team, how would they beat 96 bulls?

As a warriors fan. This was the greatest move they did acquiring KD without getting rid of the big 3 is huge and all those crying are lebron fans to be honest 😂😂
i miss this time man the best team ever
Klay boasting his 4 rings being just carried😂
yeah sure
KD will forever be a snake for joining a 73 W team that he couldn’t beat the year prior.
As a die hard 90s Bulls fan,
no doubt that KD's Warriors is the greatest team ever assembled, especially the last version....the 2018/19 with the Cousin, Pole and all that bench.
Only injuries could stop them
I think the title should be: Kevin Durant Documentary 2017-2019
2019 roster should be the best ever. They had curry, klay, KD, Draymond, and boogie.
Tee hee they still lost to the raptors
No offense I mean they could have been goated but KD always gets injured
@@spiderman-zs9ej Put it in a what if perspective.
Raptors beat them twice in the regular season (both times, the Warriors were 100% healthy). It's just a shame that BOTH teams were so crippled for the Finals. Raptors were without OG (their most versatile defender) and both Lowry and Kawhi were playing with injuries (Lowry had a hand issue requiring major surgery and Kawhi injured his leg/knee at the end of the Bucks series).
nah, the bench sucks
@@Paulafan5 at that point warriors did not take the regular season serious at all. When kd came back against raptor for that 1 quarter they were destroying the raptors. Plus they got raptors to 6 games and only started losing when klay got injured.
The 96 Bulls would have demolished this team with 90s rules. They would have won comfortably with modern rules.
Sorry to tell you bro but the 2017 warriors would blow the 96 bulls out every game in a best of 7
@@PriestDaSensei lol, no....bro.
They can never take that from the Dubs. We have Steph, and 4 rings. The Core will continue to be in the Best Team conversations!!💯💯
They need a movie or a tv series
so much bout kd but u cudnt once speak abt how gud curry was during this period. all the gud part of the team u spoke abt was circling around kd and all the bad part around curry and the splash brothers. lowkey sad. are we really gonna forget how curry inhibited his own growth in ball for the overall team success. he cudve have played like how he does now way back then too. with insane finishes at the basket. hes just more than wht stats can show. and cmon he averaged just 2 points less than kd in the 18 finals. the main focus of defense was curry.
this team will never match 72-10 chicago bulls.
If Chicago went nearly undefeated in the playoffs in their 72-10 season, they would undoubtedly be the greatest team of all time.
who can you compare them to?, they got the job done, went a historic 72-10 and still won the chip. total domination of all other teams. if thats not your standard for the GOAT team then I don't trust it.
@@patrickoloko4184 I still believe the 72-10 Bulls are the greatest team of all time.
However, just by a razor thin edge with all the skill and spacing of today's game. Plus, by the numbers, the 2017 Warriors were better. They're my favorite team all time but objectively, 72 wins with a ring edges out slightly.
This team went 73-9 without Kd and you think the bulls are better then them with KD 😂
Can you please make a video about some centers
I STILL can’t believe people genuinely think 96 Bulls beat this team 😂
It's cuz Jordan fans think that he is christ himself
We'll never know
Research the 1996 bulls and tell me what you see
They wouldn’t lmao
I’m sure KD regrets joining the warriors.
The whole video about the Warriors dynasty is incomplete without Mark Jackson
laughing to klay rn😂
Jr smith running is the most iconic move in nba finals
4:45 They got murdered by the Durant Curry Pick and roll 😆
I still can't believe how the 2018 Cavs almost beat this team in game 1.
1 game! Not impossible to believe, my guy
Title should be: "I love Kevin Durant" 😂
Even if the warriors are done I'm really happy that they won in 2022 this season is straight sad
Are you forgetting that the 1982-1983 Sixers did the same thing first in the playoffs.
Yes very powerful team! Wish they can get back together for one more championship
Boy, what a joy it was to watch those teams, especially 2015-18 play.
i like the Logo the franchise the players everything 2017-2018 best team in Nba history
