Akrapovic slip on That is what I know as far as the differences goes. I just purchased a 2015 and it's one of the best bikes so far.
not a full akra folks, just a slip on. Also only quickshifter on previous models, 2017 is the first to have the auto blip downshift as well. Its only a google search away.
i like the new look of the bmws1000r. It has a better sound to the exhaust with that one and the slip on exhaust on mine sounds a little the same but its smaller and i think its easier to take off if needed. The down blip is on the 2016 bmw as well. I use the quickshifter most of the time when i need to use it hahaha. the side little fairings are smaller in the 2017 model with the dash being a different color and the rpm needles are different. I would love to test ride a 2017 version soon just waiting for the weather to warm up. Ride safe

hi, are you sure this is the full akra. exhaust? i don't think this is the full system. it is only the rear akra muffler that comes with the 2017. maybe you were confused because it has now a smaller bottom silencer than the older one. am i right?

It seems like it doesn't pop and crackle (atleast as much) as the previous one. Or maybe the microphone doesn't pick that up. If they fixed the stupid pops and crackles I might just think getting one. The stupid farts and crackles get old after 5 minutes.
the changes will be mainly euro 4 compliance, that's why the Akro tail pipe doesn't alter the volume much, because all the silencing is done at the catalyst collector box under the bike. Fecking Euro 4 😠😠
+sergsrt8 yes and no. If you have a little cowl like the s1000r has then you’ll actually be okay at speed although the neck strain is a bit more. That being said, many people (myself included have bigger after market windscreens to help for long distance trips)
There is a trade off in certain cornering situations, but I would say they handle 90% the same. That being said, if you're a good enough rider then that gap can be narrowed to 95%
id rather have a loud bike compared to a quiet one because it makes me feel like im going faster then i am and i really fuck around on my sport bike because im stupid and a adrenaline junkie so im honestly surprised im still alive

To describe how irrelevant the bike and the exhaust are together is like having a Ferrari as a car and installing a Rolls Roys bumper on it. A very sporty vehicle with a bulky and old fashion looking muffler. I know it is part of the Euro4 regulation but still, can't take how ugly that thing is 😄 Other than that love the bike and your review was cool 👍🏼

Trying to decide between the 2 bikes now. Was set on the Duke....but for what you get on the BMW for the money...tough choice.
there is some tweaks to the engine so it doesn't buzz on the bars , there is more heavy balancers

2016 only had the quick Upshift no down shift unfortunately 😢. I wonder if they can install the new quick shifter on my 2016 beast 🤔
