@K Agree with you K. I'm also waiting out for the 2019 version but as we are now in July I don't know if BMW will indeed push out the new/revised version. I hope they do.
I understand the heart wants what the heart wants, so, if you do, make sure to stay in rain mode for a while and remember it's all about the wrist, go EASY...good luck 👍
Very good review, thank you very much. After 15000km with an S1000R, I can only say that it is a very versatile motorcycle, without highlighting in anything.... My Tuono v4 1100 factory MY 2018, isen´t for sure so polivalent, but when when I get off the bike I have a smile from ear to ear...and that's what I was looking for in a motorbike
It is a great bike. To make it perfect: Add a TFT screen and change that front lighting (Not even on the 2020 model, even though most of it BMW sister bikes have them)
thanks for the review .. any advice plz? my bike is 2017 and it wobble only on high speed cornering .. i do low speed cornering with no problems ,, only high speed corner is my problem with the wobbling and I am using Ohlins steering Damper ..
First thing I would do is check if the wheels are correctly balanced (maybe you lost the sticking weights) then check if the wheels are aligned. Otherwise try stiffening the suspension. Sorry but is really difficult to diagnose something without feeling it
I went out today to buy this bike, and ended up with the 40th Anniversary GS. After my 700GS, I just couldnt find love for the ergonomics. The speed I ABSOLUTELY LOVED, but I'm 56 now, so I chose comfort over speed. Sad, I know lol
thanks for the breakdown on the 2018 vs 2017. im going to start looking for 2017 models fully upgraded as dealers are making room for new models. cant wait to ride it. hopefully by the end of the summer i will be ripping through the canyons and commuting daily on a bmw s1000r!
I've seen this video now. 2 years later. One fact: the official power since 2014 is 160 hp, the inofficial power since 2014 is nearly 170 hp. The 2017 and 2018 S 1000 R has not more power. BMW has only to declare the power is 165 hp - without searching for more power. The job from BMW was only, to save the power for Euro 4. A very clever strategy...
I would have loved the lower weight of the S1000R, but I decided to go with the XR due to wanting a taller windscreen to protect from wind/bugs; both excellent bikes.
Would have been nice if you did some hard pulls with it so we could hear that exhaust. Maybe you don't want the shop to think your beating their bike? Maybe still in break in process?
Was still in the break in period, only 200 miles on the clock, the shop has no problem with me open it up as long as it's not on the break in period. It still sounded pretty good at low RPM but my mic. Didn't quite pick it up.
Only 165hp.... Lol... What's your opinion this or a 2018 triumph Street triple? I currently ride a GSXR-750 and looking for something a bit more versatile. I ride the street as well as the track.
I think the BMW is a little better on the track than the triumph, but I like the way the triumph looks way better than the BMW, I was thorn between them as well, then I ended up buying an Aprilia Tuono
@@AlbesADV I kind of thought that, but I wanted a 2nd opinion, thank you. I was going for the gsxr600, but decided the seating position on a naked is better for the type of riding in going to do.Thx again my friend, ride on.....
I bought this exact bike, I love this bike! Female rider of 2 1/2 years.
Good choice 👍

Wonderful review. I am looking at a used S1000R and this was very helpful.
Good choice Brad 😀👍
Thanks man. One of the best reviews on the s 1000 r. Very informative.👍

Excellent review, really informative, told me everything I needed to know in a constructive way, refreshing brother! 👍🏼
just bought this beauty in red/black 2017 sports package :D it arrives next week i cannot wait!!!
Congrats Kasa!!! It's a great bike 😀👍
The most valuable review I’ve watched. Many thanks!
Thank you 😀👍
I consider buying that as a fist one. Understand it is not a toy and not very suitable for beginning.
I understand the heart wants what the heart wants, so, if you do, make sure to stay in rain mode for a while and remember it's all about the wrist, go EASY...good luck 👍
Heading out to ride the 2019 right now 😁 Thanks so much for the review, Albe!
Very nice overview of the bike 👍 I've just today purchased
A 2017 s1000r sport with the HP wheels. Picking it up Tuesday.
Ride safe!
Very nice, congratulations 😀👍
Thanks I've had 14 bikes in the last 13 years, I kept going back to the CBR1000RR until now... It's got to be the best bike I've ever owned :-) Enjoy
Great vid! Really enjoyed your review :)

Bought black/red one a week ago after having Yamaha XJ6N... I am in love

Thank you man, thanks for watching
I love the BMW S1000R, its a gorgeous bike, and very refined! thank you for doing this review! one day Ill get to own one.
Austin-C Media one day is the main point

Awesome review, spoken so well even though English isn’t your first language 👍🏼
Lol, thanks
Is there any issues with the 17/18 model? I’ve read about the tensioner issues and some switch gear problems but these were earlier models
Awesome review I took this bike for ride awesome power and bike all away around
Best review I have watched and I have seen them all My new 1000r sport will arrive in 3 weeks full package
Best compliment ever, thank you 😁
The dash needs to be updated. Model year 2021?
I hope so, the dash is very outdated compared to the same class rivals
Excellent review. Love it.
excellent review thank you

I agree, it’s time for those changes

Nice
Albe's Adv had it for a week now. If anyone is considering this bike, get it. It's so smooth, so fast, so controllable, so fucking fun!
I agree, enjoy your new bike 👍
Hello agian .. which mode set is best for racing ? dynamic or dynamic pro with some settings? thanks ..
That is very subjective, everyone is different, I found myself liking the dynamic factory settings to go fast
@@AlbesADV really appreciat ur answer .. ill subscribe now 🤗
Greet review. How Tall are you? Im looking for this bike but im not sure if its big enough for me, im 1,95m
I'm 1,86m and felt comfortable, might be a good idea to, at least, go sit on it at the dealer 😀👍
best fuckin video on these i've seen yet man
Thank you man 😀👍
Great review 😎
You done well good review and well presented I will go now and order 1 not kidding drive safe M8
Enjoy your new bike I guess 👍
A very good informative review.
Thank you
Awesome review
Great review as always, do you still like your Tuono better?
I do, I think it's a mental thing, that V4 just gets me, even if rationally the s1000r is probably the better bike.

Thank you Albe, great video..but I prefer videos of your F800GS.. you really give us good information.. shears
Thanks for watching anyway, more F800GS coming soon
I would have loved the lower weight of the S1000R, but I decided to go with the XR due to wanting a taller windscreen to protect from wind/bugs; both excellent bikes.
I agree, I had a blast with both of them

Albe's Adv anyway to add an additional mic on the tail for specific exhaust notes? Thanks
Yup, I'm working on it

Great review! Covered all the things I wanted to know.
Glad to hear
Is the seat height taller than the S1000rr version?
Slightly
Very informative but its high time BMW put a full TFT Dash on the s1000r.
You are very right, it is time
Bring it back to the dealer? This whole time, I thought you were reviewing your personal bike.
Nope, in a galaxy far far away, before COVID, BMW used to lend me demo bikes for a few days...
This will be the next thing on my list if BMW revamps that awful Instrument Cluster. ü
i dgaf about that cluster, gimme that engine and quick shifter right now haha
Love mine 😃
why his right hand bigger than his left tho
Cause is my pimp hand, lol
I found a dealer selling a 2014 s1000r with 35,ooo miles and they want $8,000 for it.Is that a good or bad deal?
I think it's a bad deal, almost 5 year old with 35000 miles, it should be cheaper, you can probably find a 2015 with half the miles for that price
@@AlbesADV I kind of thought that, but I wanted a 2nd opinion, thank you. I was going for the gsxr600, but decided the seating position on a naked is better for the type of riding in going to do.Thx again my friend, ride on.....
Naked has definitely a better riding position, good luck with the search, ride on
S1000R or Tuono? :)
I ended up buying a Tuono, but the s1000 is undoubtedly a great bike.
165hp! Dam.
