Awesomeness! I have a 2015 in black, same mirrors and turn signals, Akra header with stock silencer. It was just too loud! Also a Winderlich comfort seat, sliders, LED headlamps, etc.

So awesome. I was looking into the full Akra system with headers and the carbon fiber can. Too loud though? Although I think your setup would have been louder with that shorty stock slip on.
DukeOfDC I put in a generic baffle and with the stock can it is quieter than the Akra shorty. I sold the Akra for nice money👍
I'm on a similar journey FZ10 to the Superduke and now I'm looking at what's next I rode the BMW when shopping the fz10 and it's what I would consider a perfect bike and I think that makes it a little bland in comparison to the others and the dealer support and warranty is absolutely phenomenal. Much better than KTM especially here in Vegas but that new Tuono may be the one.

Congrats! I bought my red 2014 S1000R new - still have it, but I also can't help but slobber over other new bikes. I farkled mine with Rizoma, Corbin, carbon fiber and S1000RR parts that fit too, like the tank cover sections (you may want to check compatible pieces before you spend too much on aftermarket). I hope the previous owner had all the minor glitches warranty work done. Cheers!

There were a couple I can think of and it was determined by the VIN and where they were sold. Some people had some sort of valves problem (I didn't, although my dealer checked for me anyway.). Another recall was for the fairing connection in front. At high speed, some broke free. My fairing did while I was rolling down the highway doing about.....well, fast...and the left side broke loose . If it wouldn't have been for my Wunderlich slider on that side, it would have blown off. There was a designated fix issued by BMW involving a more secure attachment and I had that done. The fix works. I would check with the guy that sold the bike to you or reference the records from his maintenance history or his mechanic (?).

Hello Duke! Congrats on the new bike my friend. I will be joining you on the s1000r adventure as I sold my 2017 Aprilia TuonoRR. It was too much for a daily ride in the city which is 90%-95% of all my riding. It was over kill. I enjoyed it & loved the bike but I can't have multiple motorcycles or I'd have kept the monster that is the TuonoRR. I took the 2017 s1000r out for a test ride & holly mother of God it's got power at call. Smooth as butter at low speeds (below 3,000 rpm) and the quick shifter & down auto-blipper is magical. The no rebound suspension is the coolest thing I've experienced. A great motorcycle that fits all the needs and has buckets of power & torque to burn. That is more than enough power for people that don't ride with sponsorship leathers ;). Respect to you mate.

Congrats on the new bike! Question: you mention the crg mirrors and rhino? bar end weights eliminate vibration in bars. Is that the case with all rpm levels or above some? Does it eliminate buzz in bars above 6k rpm? thx
Thanks!! I haven't felt any noticeable vibration in the bars at any RPM, so I would say it has helped tremendously

R1200R would be more up my alley I think - I even like the F800R, it's quirky as hell but I dig it.

If you look up motocomposites they can add color to the carbon fiber as an accent. Super clean looking

I actually haven't and might not do any more mods to the s1000r. It's a great bike just the way it is.
Hi Duke! I just got this in red yesterday, and almost shit in my pants. You're right it needs no more mods, the standard exhaust is laugh enough for me to unknowingly annoy others. Mine has got an MRA windscreen and all the engine covers and safety bobbins. Might change to some black rear sets to match the bike. This bike is SEX!
Welcome to the club! 14-16 are no slouches. That bag is the handiest thing. Get the HP levers. That colour looks sick with an Ilmberger carbon belly pan. Comfort seat is worth it. Check the New Rage Cycles tail tidy, it’s super clean. Enjoy!

DukeOfDC my IG is lightspeed1138. There are pics of all the bits I mentioned. People poopoo the cost of the HP levers, but they feel way better than the OE stuff, look sick, and are awesome adjustable billet pieces. I kept the tail on for a year, I wish I would have done it sooner. Totally cleans up the look.
how do you like the Corbin seat? Have you tried any other comfort seats?

It's definitely not 160 rear wheel bhp. The top 4 super nakeds are all awesome bikes. But the Tuono is top in just about every group test. Treat yourself to the new 1100 next. I thought my old tuono was good. But the newer Tuonos are next level.

I also adore the SDR and I think the 2017/18 would replace this in the future once they hit the used market.

I 'm. Doubting between the rsv4 factory aprc of 2013 s1000r sportpack and the the tuono 1000 2014. They come all at the pricetag of 9000 euro. Except the rsv4 for 9250. You have significant some experience of the 3 bikes. Which would you pick. I had a hypermotard 1100 and I felt it was underpowered and loud at highway speeds. They say that the s1000r revs to high, read noise comparing to the actual speed. That is what I really don't 'tlike in a motorcycle? Is that the case.?

Of those three bikes I would go for the s1000r. I personally think you get a LOT of bike and features (especially if it’s the fully loaded model) for the price.

hai ! i got a question , what is the comfortable speed for this bike ? like harley sportster is only at 110kmh ..
If you mean what is a comfortable cruising speed, I've had the bike at 80mph for hours on end sitting on the highway with no issues nor any feeling that the bike was running out of speed. I assume you could cruise even faster if desired.

What i Mean is , that i Prefer a bike with more character and Fun than a bike with 3 options more ..i don t have thé money to.get a new SDR, cause it has everything.. but i believe that i would ben happier with a first gen SDR than a s1000r.

Me i am waiting Tuono 2018 sold recently Superduke 2017 and year before S1000R...Tuono by far best out of 3 a side of petrol consumption...and maintenance intervals...
+DukeOfDC Definitely! would love to see that video. I owned the 2015 Tuono 1000 and have rode the BMW back when I bought that bike. I just bought the 2017 tuono 1100 in September and have already done 3k miles on it.
The only one I haven't rode is the KTM, I test road the monster 1200 and it was a great bike but nothing has given me same feeling that the Tuono does so far. I just can't stay off it. 3k mi in two months. lol

DukeOfDC probably not mine is loaded with a Bren Alpha Tune full Acura exhaust every piece of carbon fiber you can put on it 520 chain conversion luimoto seat cover all kinds of stuff. The reason why I have not sold it and started modifying it more is because of the value of the bike has dropped so much since when I bought it brand new but I am learning as a case with most of my motorcycles.
Yeah, fully loaded with aftermarket goodies I would have expected to pay more, for sure. As long as the bike gives you joy, then the value degradation shouldn't hurt too much. At least that's what I tell myself, haha.
DukeOfDC that is very funny man I say the same thing I have a lot of bikes that have now dropped in value but I'm not really regretting it I just put deposit on the new V4 Ducati so I'm pretty excited

This is so ironic! Your video on the 2017 Aprilia Tuono V4 1100 RR was a big influence on me deciding to begin the process of trading in my 2014 S1000R for the Aprilia! Would you still say the Aprilia is the better bike, money aside? The Aprilia has the up and down shifter plus that TFT Display! What are you thoughts? Love your videos!
First off, thank you for the positive vibes! Always special to hear that people love my channel! It's a very difficult question you ask regarding with bike is "better". In my opinion the NEW 2017 Aprilia Tuono is a better raw super naked sports bike than any year S1000R. I think someone who rips it in the twisties or frequents the racetrack would agree, however I do strongly believe that s1000R is a better daily commuter/all around bike. The DDC, and smoothness of the inline 4 make it that way for me. The sound, raw power, and character of the V4 make the Tuono very very special though. All in all, they both do what they do incredibly well.

Thank you for your response! Yes, Better is not fair to ask. Every bike has its pros and cons as well as each bike is better suited for certain types of riding. The Tuono just seems to shift smother, in videos, and I would really like to have the autoblipping downshifter. What's your opinion on the way the two bikes shift both with the autoshifters and manually. My S1000R is a bit clunky in both areas. Thanks again!
+ajs dirtbiker from what I’ve experienced thus far, the s1000r quickshifter is very smooth. Rev matching for downshifts takes a bit of practice with the responsiveness of the inline 4 but over time I’m not to concerned with it. The V4 is incredibly smooth with quickshifter, autoblipper, and manual shifting. Have you been able to take on for a test ride yet?

No, I have not test rode the Aprilia yet. Trying to find one to test ride! The only dealer in my area doesn't have any on stock. The closest dealer or at least the easiest to get is a dealer is Virginia which is about 3 hours away!
If you're ever in Northern VA I would take one our from La Moto. They are an amazing Aprilia dealership up here. Talk to Steph, tell her I sent you :)

It was just the right time for me to move on financially. I LOVE (read it again, love) all my old bikes. When I buy something new it means nothing against my previous purchases. Ever forward man, ever forward.
