I saw the teaser when I last went to the cinema. Bear in mind that HTTYD is one of the pinnacle movies of my childhood that I have watched to death and still love. Even watching the trailer then my immediate thoughts were "it is frame by frame exactly the same, what is the point?" It is 100% a cash grab, and while it has some good ideas, and is definitely nice looking as far as one can tell, it seems to offer nothing that would compel me to go watch it instead of just putting on the animation. This era of just putting into live action any animation that did relatively well is a horrible trend that never does well, and I don't know why studios are still putting them out. Just make original things, goddammit. Or, at the very least, take the premise of HTTYD and turn it into something expanded or different.
One of the reasons it’s the exact same is because all the movies made where stuff if changed people complain about how ot’s not like the original I like both where stuff is and isn’t changed
it really is an issue, that you really can't please the people anymore. but there's actually one really simple fix. just don't remake old movies unless there's a good reason to...
I honestly think this will be one of the better ones. getting the same director, keeping the most important things the same, and it's actually a story that can be transferred to the medium of live action quite well, I just don't think it's necessary to remake these already great movies
You are saying the right things here. I'm not goong to watch it. Mostly because i do not support the idea of taking something creative and good. And turn it into a moneymaking trash.
According to Jesterbell, it's to promote an upcoming theme park attraction.
I believe if they released both the original and the live-action versions in theaters, the original would easily earn more money.
Great Video, keep up the good work!
fire vid once again
