  • In this episode, myself along with @thomas fuentes and @kamilla finetti get to work on the 2000 Camry. We conduct a much needed and overdue brake, trans, diff, and power steering fluid exchange. We had a great time working on the car and making this episode. Make sure you watch all the way through and check out the outtakes at the end. Any questions or comments, leave them down below. Thanks for watching.

    Just added another 21 years to the life of that Camry. 😀

      Yes, I agree! That’s the incredible ability of these cars. Even with poor maintenance and old crappy fluid, it still ran and drove great. Now, hopefully better than ever.

      Thank you! Love this model of the Camry. So good looking and incredibly reliable. Also, we have more videos planned with the Camry in 2022. Can't wait to bring that content to the channel. Thanks again!

    I drive the same car (same exact year)! I need power steering fluid change and front diff change. Wished you guys were in my area so I can get you guys to do it 😋

      Appreciate it! I'm assuming you were referring to Alex about starting his channel? I relayed the message. He's been working on some projects to edit and put out. He has a channel now, Thomas Fuentes. It's a lot of his older videos for now, but like I said, he's working on those newer videos. Thanks again!

    I dont completely get the brake bleeding procedure . In the past, there was a bleed nipple, and a mate would push the brake pedal while me opening/closing the nipple with a wrench . plastic tube & glass jar filled with brake fluid .continue till no air bubbles. simple . And with this thing, that machine? Dont exactly get it.

    • @TheNonnell
      @TheNonnell  หลายเดือนก่อน

      Indeed, that method is still effective. The use of a compressor and vacuum achieves the same outcome, but instead of being expelled by the pressure of the brake pedal, the fluid is extracted. The task could have been accomplished using either method. Moreover, employing the compressor and suction technique is particularly convenient when working alone. Ultimately, it comes down to personal preference. The end results remain unchanged.

    can you do a cam oil plug video.

    • @TheNonnell
      @TheNonnell  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I would except the Camry was totaled in an accident. Unfortunately, it’s no longer with us.

    Awesome video! Love this series!
    Do you know if the differential oil change can be done on ramps? My concern is if the car needs to be leveled in order to do the change properly.

    • @TheNonnell
      @TheNonnell  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Good question. My only concern would be as you have already pointed out. In order to get a correct fill, I would assume it would have to be level. Thank you for the comment and for your support!

    • @eduardohernandez974
      @eduardohernandez974 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@TheNonnell thank you! You think if I poured back in the same amount of oil that came out of the car the level wouldn’t matter?

    • @TheNonnell
      @TheNonnell  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I would always go with factory recommended amount. Depending on the year of the vehicle, mileage, possible leakage, etc. could change the amount that is supposed to be present.

      @@TheNonnell Thanks! Last question, did you re-use the transmission oil plug gasket? Or, is a new one always necessary?

    • @TheNonnell
      @TheNonnell  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      We reused the gasket. If I would have thought about it beforehand then I would have bought new gaskets. So far there haven’t been any leaks with the old gaskets, but next time it’s done we’ll definitely use new. Always a peace of mind thing for me.

    Hey Bro Great video one question one the diff you use the same oil as you would use on the transmission.

    • @TheNonnell
      @TheNonnell  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      For this year, make, and model that is what it called for(ATF). I’m not sure about other years but I believe this particular model ran from 1997-2001.

    Do you about how much dexron atf did you ended up using for the power steering?

    • @TheNonnell
      @TheNonnell  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I bought a gallon jug for the job. It was around $20-25. I know we didn’t come anywhere close to using all of it. We probably used between 1-2 quarts. Best of luck!

    • @TheNonnell
      @TheNonnell  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hey. The M1009 is still around; however, it is my brothers and not mine. He has done a lot of modifications to it, but a few things remain for it to be a reliable daily truck. I’ve tried to have him sell it to me so I can complete it but he is firm in wanting to keep it. If and when he finishes the last touches it will definitely be back on the channel.
