Thanks! Yeah, it was pretty straightforward, especially since Crutchfield sent a PDF with every nut and bolt you have to remove in order to install the speakers. I’d say for less than $100, it was a huge upgrade.
Nice! 101k sounds like a barn find. Don’t think I’ve seen any with that low of miles. Great cars. Will last you forever. Thanks for the comment and best of luck on the speaker install.
Love the Camry content I plan to tackle this and the video helped me to decide to do it I bought my 2000 Camry 2 years ago with 107k miles on it she’s been great

That’s awesome. They’re great cars as I’m sure you know. Speakers were a relatively easy and straightforward install. Also, you can get great speakers for the Camry(all around) for less than $150. Best of luck and enjoy the music!
Pro-Tip: if you can’t find the correct adapters to connect the speakers you can cut and strip the stock wire and solder them to the new speaker wire, watch a quick video on how to solder (it’s very easy). I did this for my back speakers on 2001 Camry
Indeed. That’s why I went with the adapters. I wanted to avoid soldering. If I did speakers or stereo installs more often I would want to learn the soldering technique, but adapters work great for the time I have available. Thanks for the comment.
I ordered the speakers off crutchfield.com and they came with the adapters. If you buy your speakers from there then they will send the adapters but if not I’m sure you could get the adapters there separately. I hope that helps!

I want to say the rear speakers were Pioneer and the fronts were Kenwood. If you go to crutchfield.com it will tell you the sizes you need for your specific car depending on the location of the speakers you want to replace. I hope that helps.
So recently I’ve replaced both door speakers with a pair of Kenwood KFC - 1666S, as well as replaced my factory Toyota radio with a new JVC KD-X280BT single din car stereo. I’m looking to replace the back speakers which never worked when I bought the car used a couple years ago with the same pair in your video the Pioneer TS-G690. At the checkout cart on Crutchfield’s website it says, “Replacing the high-impedance factory speaker with a 4-ohm speaker will result in higher volume levels and can cause the factory radio or amplifier to overheat. 🚫” are you able to explain that further since you made the same exact upgrade as myself? I’m a bit worried, so an explanation would be truly appreciate. Thank you so much, Nonnell for your knowledge and help.
I'm not an expert in audio systems, but I recently had to replace the subwoofer in my Lexus. Unfortunately, the replacement speaker didn't match the factory's ohm rating. The technician informed me that due to this mismatch, I would have to increase the volume to achieve the same sound level as before. I don't know the specifications for the Camry, but it seemed to produce better sound and was definitely louder with its factory radio, especially after having new aftermarket speakers installed. The Camry has never had any audio problems relating to this installation. I hope that helps. I found this Reddit page that may help explain more: www.reddit.com/r/CarAV/comments/pozovb/replacing_8ohm_speakers_with_4ohm/
Could you have added additional sound insulation to the doors? Would this have been a good idea? If so can bubble insulation be used? Maybe do a video on insulate the car for sound. Thanks
Hey. For sure. We could have added some sound proofing behind the door panel, but this was a low budget DIY install. Installing a sound dampening product could be done in the future but that would be up to Kamilla. I’ll suggest it to her and see what her interest is in doing that. Thanks!
Please link the items you purchased for this! Especially those brackets! I know there aren't any mounts that fit the original screw layout for the original speaker, so I'm super curious
Hey. Thanks for the question. Honestly, I’m not sure the exact speakers she bought for the car. They were purchased on crutchfield. You can enter your car and year and it will provide you with speakers specifically for your vehicle and the locations they will be placed. All the connections and brackets came with the speakers(free). Hope that helps.

Nice video, thanks for posting. Got lucky with those windows dude lol. Question: when you installed the rear speakers and put everything back together did you put the new speaker screen/cover things on or stick with the originals? How does it look?
Yeah, definitely better to drill with windows up. 😅 We went with the OEM look. Tossed the covers that came with the speakers. She wanted to keep that Camry look but with an upgrade to the sound, so that’s why we went that route. Still looks great though.
Hi just got a grandma’s 1999 with 27k for $500. The window motors are apparently fried after inspection of a mechanic but not sure if it’s a lie, would you be able to help instructions?

The speakers came with brackets; however, I did not choose to use them. I felt that it was easier to attach them directly to the doors and rear deck. The Camry has its OEM head unit. Thanks!

@@UNEEK_LOGIK oh good. The only other thing that I could think of is that the Camry came with two types of radios. A double DIN and a single DIN. Maybe that had something to do with the harnesses? Glad you found a fit that works for you though.
I have a 2007 camry with non JBL stock speakers and I found 2 pairs of speakers from a JBL system camry (2005) and after installing they sound weak and the highs are so low worst than the stock ones. Now my question is do I need an amp to run these speakers? I have a aftermarket headunit too and i think those aren't powerfull enough to push those JBL speakers (speaker model 86160-AA400).
Let me first say that I'm not super knowledgable about speakers vs receivers. I recently upgraded my Xterra speakers and found that my aftermarket head unit needed the volume turned up to a higher level to get similar sound. My previous speakers would start to distort around volume 26, but now I can go to 26 and higher without distortion; however, I don't feel that I get all the power sent to the new speakers that I know they can handle. For that purpose I would get an Amp to increase the power output. I've noticed there is a lot of physics that go into speakers and head units from what I've read. Like my head unit is 50w x 4 channels. My understanding of this is that each speaker gets pushed 50w of power; however, my speakers are capable of much more. I believe thats why I have to crank the volume higher to get a similar effect as my old speakers. The new speakers are better by far, but I think I'll need to get an amp if I want the most out of them. Also, my new speakers are 4 Ohms all the way around. I think that rating deals with the impedance. Again, beyond my scope, but I know they have a higher impedance than my old speakers. I don't know if that helps or not, but I would recommend calling like a Freemans Car Stereo or maybe even Crutchfield and one of their associates would have a better answer then what I can give.
@@TheNonnell yes and the issue is my aftermarket headunit has less wattage output than my factory ones but I don't want to put my factory one again since that doesn't make sense to do. Also the speakers I got are 2 Ohms vs the 4 Ohms stock ones so I believe the headunit having hard time pushing that much power so I guess it better to go with a simple 2 Ohms amp
I think you need a amp because mostly every car with a premium sound system comes factory with a amp my 5th gen Camaro 2LT RS has boston acoustic premium sound speakers and it came with a amp from factory
Honest answer is that I bought these speakers for a friend. The factory speakers sounded awful. Pretty sure they didn’t have matching front and rear for the two types I bought at the time, but they were both good quality and had good reviews. After install they sounded great and she was happy to be able to listen to music again. 👍

@@vigilante9259 if you decide to upgrade let me know. I may follow suit and do the same for my Xterra.
I think you need a amp because mostly every car with a premium sound system comes factory with a amp my 5th gen Camaro 2LT RS has boston acoustic premium sound speakers and it came with a amp from factory

Haha. Thanks
why would you buy speakers from two different brands it makes zero sense unless you don't really care how it sounds
Honest answer is that I bought these speakers for a friend. The factory speakers sounded awful. Pretty sure they didn’t have matching front and rear for the two types I bought at the time, but they were both good quality and had good reviews. After install they sounded great and she was happy to be able to listen to music again. 👍
do you mind me asking how much the speakers costed all together?
Sure. No problem. They were around $100. Not bad at all. That price was for speakers and included the mounting/connecting hardware.
