I would really love to see more MPVs on the market, but marketers have decided it’s much more profitable to sell SUVs with less interior and luggage space at the price of a higher-class vehicle, rather than an MPV with more interior and luggage space at nearly the same price as a similarly classed hatchback or sedan. This way, if you need more space, you'd have to go for a premium-class SUV at 70,000 EUR or more. :)

A useful preview, thank you. The Audi/VW MEB platform seems to be holding up well for the basic engineering. Skoda seemed to have made the very best of MEB with the bits of design they can control, so a better UI/UX than much of the rest of the car group. A possibly insane comparison but the recent Bentley review shows that it is possible to put the iPad on the dashboard back in its proper place in the VW/Audi group. You do not need to go to the lengths of producing a revolving centre screen as in the Bentley, but something smaller and less obtrusive with even more real buttons need not cost too much to do. Commercially, the Cariad software really has been a disaster for VW/Audi. The pricing of these looks competitive all the way along the range. A film production point: good to see lighting to illuminate dark bits of the interior because it makes it so much easier to make sense of what you are talking about.
why are the instrument cluster so small in VW products (Audi exception)?? Does all that drive EV have Eagle eyesight compared to all that drives other cars? or whats the deal with that?? And having info shown in the windscreen can be done also on non EV cars so...Just a curios question...
As shown on your Audi S5 car, wouldn't it be nice to get a car with nice knobs for AC etc. All touch controls actually cheapen overall experience of a car.
I'm going to be honest. Skodas have always been decent and sensible. But to my eyes, this Elroq is the VERY FIRST skoda that not only doesn't look boring af but is actually eye catching, interesting-looking and dare I say... Pretty...???!!!! I am quite shocked actually...
Is there a crash safety or some other technical reason why all manufacturers are going for the main lights in this position and the DRL-s on top? Citroen did it first more than 10 years ago with the Picasso and now even the 7-series is like that.
Strange that they learnt from mistakes and made new Superb interior great but in this new electric car again without physical climate controls. And of course logo looks bad. Very strange. I m really curious if people really want huge displays, colored led lights everywhere. Are they doing some research about this or something? And not to mention its dangerous to look for something on those displays all the time.
If only they could keep the Karoq line as well instead of going full electric. I am driving the 2023 FL and its great, but if there is no ICE equivalent I will have to change the brand.
Hey Thomas, any plans on reviewing Hyundai ioniq 5 2025? As I see, it's much more interesting than this, especially N line trims, but I think, we all will appreciate your opinion on the subject. Thanks for your work.
Enyaq and looks like also this had one big flaw for tall driver that rear mirror is blocking view very well. Really often you need to peek below mirror to see everything you want.
Not a bad looking car. Bit mystified as to why Skoda took so long to bring out what is essentially a shortened version of the Enyaq. Smaller less "expensive" EV is always welcome of course. Which is why I look forward to the arrival of the Epiq, which apparently will have a bigger boot at 490 litres? than the Elroq. Would it be fair to say this is Skoda's version of the ID3 finally arrived? Why do european EVs not have a frunk built in as standard? Such as useful place to store cables rather than under floor of fully loaded rear boot. The KIA EV3 will make an interesting competitor for the Elroq.
The MEB of VW has a short hood for fitting all technic...and with this a turning circle of about 10,5m...no room for a Frunk. A Model 3 has 12m like a VW Multivan... I personally prefer a short turning circle in daily driving.
What are those awful orange seat belts doing in the car. Leatherette. There’s another cheap effect to reduce manufacturing cost and sell more expensive. Also, did I miss the umbrella. I was looking forward to the unveil of this smaller Skoda electric but have to say disappointed with the interior. They have gone the same was as everyone. Cheap. External design looks good.
Ok Skoda...this is realy beautiful car...and Thomas for the previous Video, i am an Audi fan since the Audi 80 and you should tell the CEO's to return the built Quality of the early 90's and early 2000's 😅
Thank you very much for your interest in this topic. I also bought cars with animal skin leather seats before I did my research and got to know the industry. The most important thing is: With today's modern materials, you have nothing to lose, just to gain. You achieve the same kind of luxury and comfort or even better while having the same or better durability with less impact on humans, animals and the environment. You can use fabric/cloth, microfibre or leatherette. The classic approach is using oil/plastic as source material. Overall, a vehicle contains about 300 kg plastic. A car seat needs about 5 kg plastic. So the overall plastic share for the seats is very low and it is at this moment the most efficient way to produce a car seat. A couple of litres of fuel equals a car seat basically. So if you want to save oil/plastic, rather look at consumption for energy, fuel and heating and to other car parts than the seat. Note that animal skin leather also always contains a plastic coating for durability. However, long-term we should of course find raw oil alternatives. So going further, seats can be made from recyclables (e.g. from PET-bottles or old fishing nets) or even increased share of plant-based materials (like pine oil, canola oil or start-up materials like Pinatex from pineapple leaves or Desertex from cactus fibre or the mixed-plant-based Mirum, so be seen at th-cam.com/video/S1aNZeoatmE/w-d-xo.html). On a calculation base, by ditching animal skin leather from car interiors, the amount of emissions (CO2e) is reduced by 85 (!) % (www.press.bmwgroup.com/africa-dom-easteurope/article/detail/T0403389EN/on-the-market-from-2023:-bmw-and-mini-models-with-vegan-interiors?language=en) - and that is a very conservative calculation. So it is at this moment the most important thing you can do to make car interiors more sustainable. A good example for high-end luxury with ventilated animal free seats is the BMW X7 with Sensafin: th-cam.com/video/1pRNkW9nrrw/w-d-xo.html And the Kia EV9 with plant-based oil share: th-cam.com/video/6vXePQi_MAk/w-d-xo.html New leatherette materials can be superior in every aspect, even for cleaning: th-cam.com/video/u94YXJ72UTA/w-d-xo.html More and more natural materials are rising: th-cam.com/video/nRSsXEnwHDo/w-d-xo.html Also check out what the animal skin leather industry tried to with our channel: th-cam.com/video/nP_CvLlaFlI/w-d-xo.html For seeing how the animals are being treated and transported in the global leather industry, watch this footage: th-cam.com/video/tkjCAmq1_8E/w-d-xo.html Note that the footage is genuine and was recorded by a highly decorated investigative journalist in Germany I know myself personally. Also a group of researchers and German journalists from public media could recent directly trace the connection between car animal leather production and illegal burning down Amazon rain forest: www.daserste.de/information/reportage-dokumentation/ard-story/videos/illegales-leder-video-100.html In a high animal skin grade, the animals are specifically raised for this matter. However even if meat is the "first" misuse case, the hide remains a profitable body part. That means: If manufacturers put animal leather in a car and you demand it as a customer, you give your money to an industry that earns money by oppressing humans, animals and harms the environment, you make them more profitable. Alternatively, you could support industries with your wallet which try to improve the sustainability of materials. Also, if you turn the argument around to "meat is the waste of the leather industry" you realize that it doesn't make sense (and is ethically doubtful) to discuss the primary use of individual body parts of mammals. Mind experiment: You are getting slain down on the street; would it matter to you if it was for your smartphone or for your purse? Remember that animal skin leather is no different to fur, fur is just leather where the hair is still on. And fur is widely not accepted for clothing anymore, and of course not for cars. We cannot change what we have bought in the past, but with more information and compassion we can change how we decide in the future. For a great insight into sustainability in the automotive industry, you can also check out our extensive documentary: th-cam.com/video/-8gNXlRGngA/w-d-xo.html
It looks a lot bigger than EX30 no? The Kia EV3 I get but EX30 is a smaller car than this I believe? (Haven't seen Elroq IRL yet) .. that being said.. If those prices stick, it also blows EX30 out of the water. In my opinion they went too hard on EX30, removing neccessary things and cost cutting for example the audio system.. the soundbar does NOT feel good at all. It's good for those who just have radio on all the time they drive.. but people who like music, as in their own music and not people blabla on radio between music 24/7 ... the audiosystem is lacking big time. I'm looking forward to testing this Elroq.. would be a nice 2nd car pick up it feels like.
I already have an Enyaq, and I’m a little disappointed that Skoda has simply used the 4year old enyaq interior in this new car. Yes they have updated the materials in the seats and the centre boss of the steering wheel, but the interior is 4 years old now. Other makers have moved the game on and can I just say, those cup holders are useless.they can only hold a 330ml can. Not even a takeaway coffee will fit.
Skoda-Volkswagen designs are bold yet elegant and timeless. The new design language from Skoda is awesome. Here in India they are bringing the new design language from soon to unveiled Skoda KYLAQ. Also they will come up with a smaller EV ( Epic or maybe some other ) as market progresses. Brilliant content & explanation 👌🏼🤘🏻💯🚗
To be honest was expecting more. Feels like a downgrade from the Karoq. Not only because it is EV only and that market is cooling rapidly but also because some of the biggest markets for Škoda do not care about EVs really that much so seems like they are alienating their own customers. Shame.
@@iron_b0olt There will be no continuation of Karoq models. I own the 2023 FL but i'll change brands regardless of how happy i currently am if there is no ICE equivalent in the next 2 years.
@@iron_b0olt Because of no new models for ICE coming. I have a 5 year old Karoq and slowly looking around and Škoda at this point is not offering me anything new and im looking away.
At this price point the Chinese manufacturers do not offer anything better in Western markets. This Skoda probably has the best value-for-money ratio in the compact EV market at the moment!
This car has a very complicated future. If it enters the Tesla Model Y price range (which it will), it won't stand a chance. And we all know that this particular car with all the extras will probably be much more expensive than a Model Y with the standard battery (because that's the range of this Skoda's battery). So yet another electric car from the VAG universe that will sit on factory lots like the ID3 and ID4, with no buyers. Add to that the Kia Ev3 or the Volvo Ex30 and Skoda might as well focus on combustion cars. Regards from Portugal! One of the best car channels :)
@@abraxastulammo9940 I'm not comparing it to the entry-level models that nobody ever buys. 52kw/h? Just to point out that a Renault Zoe has a 50 Kw/h battery, I think that's too small for this car. So I think the buyable model of this car will be in line with the price of the Model Y
@@timoxd5129 It better sell and fast. The Meb platform has frozen in time, and this is just another car on an outdated platform! When the ID 3 came out I felt it would be (in line with what I see in the Golf on combustion cars) the electric car I would see most on the roads. I very rarely come across an ID3. I really like the Skoda Enyaq, one of the best electric cars out there, but at least here in Portugal it's very expensive and sells very little. The VAG Group in general is lagging behind in electric cars, let's see how it goes with sales of this one, but it has a lot of competition.
What’s happening with the stupid trend of not having proper gauge cluster. First screen. Now small screens. The next generation will be no gauge cluster screen directly. That’s the greatest no no for me. Well, it was electric for starters so I don’t even care about the car. But if this trend comes to combustión cars I’ll start considering myself as a classic car enthusiast ONLY
Don’t like the new design language. They removed the iconic front grill! Imagine bmw removing their kidney grill design! All are just going for this split headlight design.
I have karoq sportline 2023, which is a downgraded version of karoq, more like the electric version of kamiq. 1.The capacity of 470 liters is lower than the Karoq’s 521 liters. The electric vehicle version does not even have a storage space in the front of the car. 2. The grille on the front of the car is missing. 3. There is no physical button for the air conditioner. 4. The dashboard is too small. 5. The logo on the steering wheel is gone and replaced by the ugly big skoda words. It’s better not to have it. 6. The rear shape of Karoq has not continued or evolved on this car! I suspect there is something wrong with the planning strategy of Skoda's designers.

SUV, SUV, SUV, crossover, SUV, crossover, SUV…
Is there a crash safety or some other technical reason why all manufacturers are going for the main lights in this position and the DRL-s on top? Citroen did it first more than 10 years ago with the Picasso and now even the 7-series is like that.
Strange that they learnt from mistakes and made new Superb interior great but in this new electric car again without physical climate controls. And of course logo looks bad. Very strange. I m really curious if people really want huge displays, colored led lights everywhere. Are they doing some research about this or something? And not to mention its dangerous to look for something on those displays all the time.
You could try the speech commands
I absolutely hate that the logo is replaced by letters , it's U G L Y
Indeed
Fair enough when they changed the back badge but I thought the logo on the bonnet was to stay.
someone said that text logos aim to Chinese market where a lot brands available and people just do not know all the logos so here is the text.
Not my type of car, but it's another great presentation video.
Personality waiting to see the Kia EV4 hatchback.
Thanks 🙏
I like the new design language, eventhough the front does remind me of a Dacia Sandero lol
If only they could keep the Karoq line as well instead of going full electric. I am driving the 2023 FL and its great, but if there is no ICE equivalent I will have to change the brand.
Which Brand? ...any will stop producing ICEs for the EU in near Future
Damn, thats a nice looking Dacia
Hey Thomas, any plans on reviewing Hyundai ioniq 5 2025? As I see, it's much more interesting than this, especially N line trims, but I think, we all will appreciate your opinion on the subject. Thanks for your work.
Cheers ! Not planned so far caus not soooo much has changed
As always a perfect video ❤
🙏🙏🙏
What about the usual Skoda touches like ice scraper in the filler cap, ticket holder in the windscreen and umbrella in the door, are those present?
Yes ... All three present and correct
Ice scraper moved to the inside of the rear hatch so nobody can steal it
Ich liebe deine Videos autogfühl❤❤

Hello🙋♂️ Thomas Sir Good To See You🇸🇦
🙌
If VAG doesn't make this car a success it will be a part of the swansong in Wolfsburg. So far it seems 10-20% to expensive in high trim editions.
Not bad looking at all. Skoda really got an EV design a lot better than the Enyaq.
Both are nice
I can see a winner here!!!
Does it look better than Enyaq or Xpeng G6? 😊 Great options for buyers.
Dear Skoda,
Please stop following Chinese trend with all letter logo. I hate it!
Skoda logo remains on the wheelcaps 😊
But chinese EVs are the best FYI.
@@architkumarsingh4547 Yes, we get Tesla 3 highland from china
I speak for the 99% that prefer ditching the crap badge and having the Letters spaced out..way to go Skoda!
Enyaq and looks like also this had one big flaw for tall driver that rear mirror is blocking view very well. Really often you need to peek below mirror to see everything you want.
No physical climate controls... If I had to choose, I would rather get the sportline version of Karoq.
It looks pretty good, it could just be a little elongated in the side profile behind the rear doors in my opinions.
That would just be an Enyaq
@@oliverstemp9132 with the new design language, it would be!
One more question.
Has it a tow rating and roof load rating, please?
What are those awful orange seat belts doing in the car. Leatherette. There’s another cheap effect to reduce manufacturing cost and sell more expensive. Also, did I miss the umbrella. I was looking forward to the unveil of this smaller Skoda electric but have to say disappointed with the interior. They have gone the same was as everyone. Cheap. External design looks good.
Did Thomas make them discard the natural wool? 😢
I miss sedans with clean body lines and real exhausts.
Nice Video 🤙⭐️
I like the look and wonder will Karoq look the same.....
I like the fact that the dashboard design looks like the steering wheel design.
It would be interesting to know the dimensions compared to the Karoq. I’m sure the Karoq has a 520L boot where as this is 470L.
Skoda finally introduce their "ID.3"
Slightly inaccurate comparison. This can be fitted with a tow bar and is a much more practical design.
Best thing about this car. A center console finally not filled with gloss black plastic
Ok Skoda...this is realy beautiful car...and Thomas for the previous Video, i am an Audi fan since the Audi 80 and you should tell the CEO's to return the built Quality of the early 90's and early 2000's 😅
Any idea if there will be a panoramic roof option?
17:07 Das Video wirkt irgendwie abgeschnitten
I’m sure it’s good but does it come with a heat pump? And is it really that affordable?
It’s probably an extra…
Explain sustainability?
More microplastics in humans = more sustainable
A good example for high-end luxury with ventilated animal free seats is the BMW X7 with Sensafin: th-cam.com/video/1pRNkW9nrrw/w-d-xo.html
And the Kia EV9 with plant-based oil share: th-cam.com/video/6vXePQi_MAk/w-d-xo.html
New leatherette materials can be superior in every aspect, even for cleaning: th-cam.com/video/u94YXJ72UTA/w-d-xo.html
More and more natural materials are rising: th-cam.com/video/nRSsXEnwHDo/w-d-xo.html
Also check out what the animal skin leather industry tried to with our channel: th-cam.com/video/nP_CvLlaFlI/w-d-xo.html
For seeing how the animals are being treated and transported in the global leather industry, watch this footage: th-cam.com/video/tkjCAmq1_8E/w-d-xo.html
Note that the footage is genuine and was recorded by a highly decorated investigative journalist in Germany I know myself personally.
Also a group of researchers and German journalists from public media could recent directly trace the connection between car animal leather production and illegal burning down Amazon rain forest:
www.daserste.de/information/reportage-dokumentation/ard-story/videos/illegales-leder-video-100.html
In a high animal skin grade, the animals are specifically raised for this matter.

So why shouldn't I buy a BMW 3 series at the same price?
The lettering on the steering wheel reminds me of Dacia. This makes the car look cheaper than it is.
Why are they removing all the Skoda signs? Hopefully it’s only for the electric cars to have a difference to the usual petrol or diesel.
It would have been great if they used this sharp edges on the new Kodiaq also... :/
Hi Thomas and the team, is there a possibility to see the facelifted Citroën C4 on Autogefühl?
Hey m8, thanks for the inquiry, i ll see what we can do!
Many thanks. 😊
Finally we found out who these 🤮 inducing are made for.
Thanks 🙏
@@autogefuehl 🤘🏻💯❤️
hey again thomas, i'm missing the pump it up part while testing the seat position. Ok this one was electric, that's excusing you 🤣
To be honest was expecting more. Feels like a downgrade from the Karoq. Not only because it is EV only and that market is cooling rapidly but also because some of the biggest markets for Škoda do not care about EVs really that much so seems like they are alienating their own customers. Shame.
Why would they alienate anyone? You can still buy the Karoq, which is looking better than ever from a design point of view.
I am glad that I ordered an Enyaq and did not wait for the Elroq. Boring face design
VERY beautiful!
A difficult sale with the Chinese on the market offering better materials in the interior, better charging speeds, better prices.
At this price point the Chinese manufacturers do not offer anything better in Western markets. This Skoda probably has the best value-for-money ratio in the compact EV market at the moment!
Please name a specific Chinese model that is supposedly better than this and actually available or soon available in Europe.
Obrigado 🙏🙏
Elroq = Y minus 10000 EUR 😅
Leasing is 259 EUR already, what do you pay for Y?
Their previous EV model, Enyaq sold pretty well actually so I’m pretty sure Elroq will do just fine.
Is this the same platform as the new macan and q6?
Obviously not, this is the platform for poor people.
MEB like VW ID3
@@autogefuehl thx
How have they got an “X” version when the ID3 and Cupra Born only offer RWD on the same platform?
Good point
Most likely more as an ID4/Enyaq, which has all wheel drive.
4,48 m and Enyaq is 4,65m...ID3 is shorter...most likely too short.
Doesn't quite allure me design-wise,even though it feels like a good rival to the grandland ev for example,id take the grandland over it...
I am delighted. They really did an amazing job. This will sell like hot cakes, at least to those who like and want electrics.
Hope they bring it to India
Thomas is such a chad
Would've prefered the Elbia as electric Fabia.
I really like the net for charging cable. Good idea 👍
Disappointed compared to the concept drawings. It's nice but it looks like a Kamiq facelift more than an exciting new design.
Trust Skoda to mess up the naming! Clear as mud.
I'm really disappointed with the design of this - it looks way too similar to the Enyaq!
I wonder how this car will be rated by EuroNCAP, once they start counting the lack of physical climate controls as a safety flaw.
The stitching on the rear headrest is really bad😮
Front lower bumper is literally a copy of Seat Arona
Shame we have to wait for it to be available in the UK
Why are the video ending like that?
?
Super! Good!🎉🎉🎉
The front looks future skoda ... but the back is to old skoda .... if you make a front like that ... do something similar in the back.
