Great, informative and fun videos Matthias, thank you! I’m in New Zealand and have a new Enyaq iv. Yesterday it spontaneously charged itself to 100% even though the level was set to 80% in infotainment. I did receive a notification on the day before about battery care mode adjusting the level but didn’t take any notice of it. Now that I have researched this issue, I see that I’m not the only one.
Compliments on this new format Matthias! Nice to see the ‘real deal’ instead of an avatar. And let’s hope your Business Plan will be a great success! Headlight leveling caused multiple visits to my dealership. But since my Enyaq received ME3.7 the problem didn’t occur. I’m more or less ok with 3.7 as it is much more stable overall, but I use Android Auto as much as possible because the Infotainment system is substandard. The charging flap is replaced (warranty) after a mechanical defect causing it to lock shut completely. Quite problematic when I needed to charge while underway on a Motorway. The spontaneous charging to 100% happens to me in about 5% of the sessions, but not when using a preconfigured charging location. Preheating? …. Let’s keep dreaming. I agree on the other issues you mention. Basically Skoda should really start to interact with the community. Please COMMUNICATE Skoda!!
Well presented! Why am I not surprised that there isn't any communication from Skoda (VW) about all the issues you mentioned to them? The only concern is how to save money and sell new cars. The money of existing customers they already have.
6:50 Thank you for another great video! I also have the bug(?) on charging limit automatically being set to 100%. Some dealers have stated that the car does this on purpose to «calibrate the battery». I think it sounds like BS. Did you ever hear anything similar? And what is your impression of this statement?
Perfect timing - I had my charging flap actuator replaced at the dealership today after bringing my 2022 Enyaq to the garage for the third time. Flap actuator was locked. Skoda Assistance was called and they forced the flap open so I could at least charge - as long as I didn't close the flap. This way I learned you can happily drive around with the fuel flap ajar... Invoice says "Confirmed fault - carried out gff fault showing on actuator, followed test plan found unit failed, as per Elsa stripped & fitted new actuator & door. Retested all now ok" Also I didn't know of the 100% bug (only updated to 3.7 a few weeks ago) but I had noticed it and just thought I'd forgotten I'd set it to 100%. Now I know it was likely not me! So far only seen it once.
The locking device is a common problem for all VAG range EVs. I cut the square parts off the round locking pin. I will never ever have an issue with not being able to open the charge port. I see why the port locks for ICE vehicles but not these.
My 2021 iV80 has been (touch wood) fairly trouble free. Only once has it ignored the 80% limit, but I managed to catch it at 85% & once had an issue with the charger flap, but this was because I managed to press it open at the exact moment the car decided to re-lock itself as I hadn't opened the doors. Fortunately a locking and unlocking cycle solved it. Headlights level fine, never been flashed by other drivers when using the matrix auto high-beams, battery condition seems good and everything else just seems to work. The Infotainment system even seems more stable and marginally quicker to respond since the workshop update to 3.7 in June. Have I got one on the unicorns?
I don't think you got one of the rare ENYAQ-unicorns but it's way more common to receive Feedback with problems than without so I assume a big majority of drivers are quite trouble free but don't tell :)
Recognizable topics, thanks. I only miss one: The issues with the hands-on detection of the steeringwheel. TA is a great driving function, but not when you have to weave the car to show you are still present.
It's funny, I just got the message about battery care getting back to 100% today in my car, not knowing why, as I had not set it to 100%. But when I looked into the app, it was change to 100.. Mine is running software 5.2, in a 85 2025 model.
@@electrifiedspeicherI'm an optimist. I haven't noticed the 100% problem either, but that may be because I almost always charge at home using Intelligent Octopus and add a specified % up to around 80% full.
Hello, I have 85x 4.0 - I sometimes have problems with charging flap. Maybe 5% of unlocking is unsuccessful. But re-lock helps every time. - maybe 1x week I occur problem with the 100% charge. I was adviced on Skoda EV lounge to set Charging place. It helps me to secure not charging above 80%. Charging place is connected with the GPS position and outside disposition the charging is 100%
I also have the problem with charge limit changing to 100%. Though it only happens when battery care mode is activated, so I decided to disable it. Enyaq 2024 SW4
You ask how they are working on a solution if there is a TPI out there, but perhaps you forgot how they were swapping steering wheels for 2,5 years until they came up with firmware update for camera? Skoda being Skoda, they don't learn.
Now and then I get a varning message that the 12V battery is not charging. Usally I just drive along and totally ignore this stupid error, and everything works fine anyway.
I have also the same issue with the car setting the charge limit to 100% by itself. Software ver. 4.0. And the Keyless has stopped working when I want to unlock the car, and there are constant messages from the app about battery protection being exceeded. Enyaq RS Coupe 2024.
@@electrifiedspeicher I commented on your previous video mentioning that I also see battery warnings in the app all the time. The latest update however, is that my Enyaq is currently at the dealer having the charging module replaced. It turns out that the 300 V -> 12 V charging module was playing up, hence the 12 V battery system was not properly kept at the correct voltage. The VW roadside assist technician said it was a problem he had seen a few times before. I can give you more details if you like, in case you want to include it in your next video.
I also have the same battery protection issue and the 12V battery seems to drain in a day or two after charging to the point that kessy stops working, no remote preheating and sometimes no seat heating(!). This makes my Skoda Enyaq Coupe RS 2024 worthless as a winter car, absolutly ridicuolus.

That was too much for this episode (as a lot of others) so it will be in the next community news. Hand recognition is a real pain as of now...
I have a 85x for 1,5 months now and had the 100% bug several times already. Good luck on the jobhunt
No 100% charging limit bug with Software 5.2 since the delivery of mine
I have problem with charging limit automatically sets to 100% occasionally. I have an IV80 -23 with software 3.2.
Yoyo driving in winter.... what could possibly go wrong?
It got me a red turtle...
A lot but it is still the best option to get a bit better charging experience

I do not have a headlight problem. ME3.7 June 22 delivery.
Don't have defects with the charging flap either.
Am I unusually lucky?
That's one way to deal with it. Never thought about such a solution

+1 on the car randomly setting it's charge rate to 100%. What an emberrasment.
I gave up on Skoda and Elli. Next car is not going to be from VW at all.
