I do not understand why all new cars dont have the charge port at the front or rear passenger side. Makes it easier to charge at tesla network and that makes sense for everyone. I’ll miss that badge though as it is awesome. Their simply clever stuff is simply clever…that charge cable! If they can not sort out their ‘packs. Takes a reasonably priced car from fair to expensive and very difficult to understand the specs when buying or selling 2nd hand,
😊the parcel shelf slot was in my superb L&K, the mid level parcel shelf while a good idea, it's not very practical as ot can't take much weight. all my presents vois 6 Skoda's had geed practical ideas.
@@NisseOhlsen It's just a PR stunt by VW and Skoda, because when comparing 10-80% times, the difference between the EV3 and the MEB cars is only about 2 minutes. MEBs have a higher peak so are better for short charging stops, for long distances the experiences will be similar.
How similar? Like dimensionally? The Ford Explorer is completely different inside and out. The infotainment doesn't stick out of the dash. And most importantly, it offers a 79 kWh battery with an upgraded BMS, albeit only for the four-wheel drive. That's a battery that the Elroq doesn't seem to offer.
@@petrbasa5742 same idea. Long wheelbase, short overhangs. Comfy ride. I’m guessing If they made the Elroq faster it would takeaway too much from the Enyaq.
Clever, an umbrella stored where it'll retain moisture, and get you wet getting access to it in the first place. You can't quickly get it up if you've first got to open the door, pull it out while standing outside in order to reach it, get back in, extract it from the bag, then erect the umbrella. Did they test this? It would need to be accessible in the cabin.
I have a Skoda with an umbrella I door and the stuff you’re taking about is just not an issue. You’re picking things out just for the sake of it. It’s been like this for years , not just a Skoda but Rolls Royce too.
Isn’t it ironic that Skoda, supposedly the bargain basement brand of VAG are turning out really good practical cars & VW themselves are working hard to destroy the models that made them great. 😬
Thank you for an interesting preview. I am afraid VW/Audi have lost me as a client until they euthanase their Cariad software division, something which seems to be in hand. That said Skoda seem to have tamed the worst of the UI/UX experience with proper buttons and not too much shiny stuff. I like the clever design features such as the cable storage below the rear shelf. I doubt I would want any of the range, but if you need this sort of thing it looks value for money. Just not much fun.
Currently got an Enyaq so will not be changing for a couple of years. But if this look ends up in a full-electric Oktavia (Eltavia?!?!?) then sign me up now!!!!
Looks as if they've gone and made the cupholders too small for a standard Contigo mug again, just like the Enyaq. Why? Skodas used to have usable cupholders. Renault Scenic has one usable cupholder in an inconvenient position (plus firm ride and disappointing efficiency) . Ford Explorer has excellent cupholders in just the right place, as do Kona and Niro. It looks as if the EV3 has badly placed cupholders because they've put a tray right where you want them to be - I'll be checking that out next week. Kona and Explorer have decent space, are comfortable and nice to drive and reasonably efficient, and Kona has a heat pump as standard. For me, that's what Elroq and EV3 have to beat.
I wonder what this releasing will do to prices of used Enyaqs. We currently have a used (2020) Karoq and have been waiting for the Elroq to be revealed. It looks more or less every bit the Karoq except for Range. My Karoq gets around 340 miles reliably on a tank, so given the quoted range of 340 miles EV, I imagine a more realistic range of 270 can be expected which is still very good 'don't think about it' range for an EV! I still get a little bit disappointed that the glory Skoda days of 'lets just outperform VW and outcompete our sister on price' are over though. Imagine how popular this car would be if it was priced at the same cost as the MG4? (One of the European automakers has to break ranks eventually and offer a crossover SUV at a sensible price :D) I think the styling is great. A mini Enyaq is more or less perfect for us as a 1 child, 1 dog family. I think it will be really interesting to see how many people buy this over a used Enyaq at a much lesser price...
Has it got Bi-Directional charging as standard? Have all the MEB platform cars got Bi-Directional charging and is it standard on all cars on the plpatform? Will Ford have its cars that are built on the MEB platform have Bi-dierectional charging and will it be standard? Why do reviews never comment on V2H or V2G only the next to useless V2L?
I like the look of this car, but the Kia Ev3 is better equipped plus 7 year warranty, and probably cheaper for the 81Kwh battery. Having said that, Volvo is now selling the 69Kwh ex30 for 31k, which is quite tempting 🤔
The new infotainment is the same on all new VW group EVs now. They all have those permanent virtual buttons along the button and they are all 13", apart the ID7 which is 15"
Another thoughtful and sensibly designed Skoda that again rather overshadows its VW cousins. Why pay more for less? The bigger battery version could displace the Hyundai Kona as the default EV crossover of this size - it is certainly better looking. Hopefully the Elroq will give the VW EV line up a real shot in the arm as on the basis of this review it looks to be all round better proposition than the ID.3.

Looks great. Love Skoda and had one of the pre-VW. I’m happy the car has a name (sick of 3,4,5 etc.) and the link to Karoq is great.
Takes a reasonably priced car from fair to expensive and very difficult to understand the specs when buying or selling 2nd hand,
7:50 Why cooled seats? Did you confuse it?
I like the interior 🙌 but imagine if the screen could fold down and lie flush withe the dash 😃
All sounds positive to me. I like it 👌
Great looking car. I'll be interested to see what the UK OTR price is going to be.
The front looks like a Hyundai Kona. The "tablet" on the dashboard looks a bit large. But many, practical things to like about this car.
😊the parcel shelf slot was in my superb L&K, the mid level parcel shelf while a good idea, it's not very practical as ot can't take much weight. all my presents vois 6 Skoda's had geed practical ideas.
Nice audio edit!
Electric Yeti please!
Pretty sure my 2016 Fabia has the same arrangement for the parcel shelf!
"No piano black - except here, but it's not a touch point where you're gonna leave sticky fingers" *proceeds to leave numerous sticky fingers on it*
I'm thinking the EV3 should beat the Elroq due to having more kit as standard. VWG needs to stop fleecing customers for options.
EV3 unfortunately only charges with 100 kW... (why, Kia, WHY!!!????)
@@NisseOhlsen It's just a PR stunt by VW and Skoda, because when comparing 10-80% times, the difference between the EV3 and the MEB cars is only about 2 minutes. MEBs have a higher peak so are better for short charging stops, for long distances the experiences will be similar.
@@Dqtube OK, that surprises me, as for the Enyac and the ID4, for example, the charge curves are pretty flat (compared to, for example the Model 3)
Wasn’t expecting something so similar to the Ford Explorer.
@@petrbasa5742 the explorer is the same car mechanically lol, they just have the trim that VW/Skoda would sell as GTX/RS as an option already.
Wrong. It most definitely does not get in stowage and is easy to access
That's hot looking, for sure.
Why you have that huge thing attached to your phone ? =0
I like the Skoda´s new design.
Why to do need an ice scraper when you can set cabin preconditioning.
This is one electric car I would love to have 👍
5:58 thank god they have a space where you can rest your hand while using the diaplay
Isn’t it ironic that Skoda, supposedly the bargain basement brand of VAG are turning out really good practical cars & VW themselves are working hard to destroy the models that made them great. 😬
Not a fan of SUV's, but that's a good looking Skoda 👍
Thank you for an interesting preview.
I am afraid VW/Audi have lost me as a client until they euthanase their Cariad software division, something which seems to be in hand. That said Skoda seem to have tamed the worst of the UI/UX experience with proper buttons and not too much shiny stuff. I like the clever design features such as the cable storage below the rear shelf. I doubt I would want any of the range, but if you need this sort of thing it looks value for money. Just not much fun.
Honestly, this looks pretty nice! It will probably be a good seller... especially if they offer it at about the same price as the ID.3!
With the prices they mentioned in the video, it undercuts the ID3 by a fair margin.....
@@Brian-om2hh Yeah, in the UK. But the ID.3 is quite expensive there. In Germany the base ID.3 Pure is below 30k€ now. Should come down in the UK too.
The look is waaay better than the Enyaq.
when compared to the competitors, I prefer the skoda
its a NICE citroin C3 Cactus with that under frontlight design, its awefull
7:50 cooled back seats? I doubt it
Love the so solid 21 seconds joke lol
I watched this earlier but it went all “private”on me 😳
It tends to remind me of “breaking bad” with the name..🤔
El-roq El-Camino 🤔
i think its missing the LFP batteries...
Currently got an Enyaq so will not be changing for a couple of years. But if this look ends up in a full-electric Oktavia (Eltavia?!?!?) then sign me up now!!!!
Prachtige auto. Mooie aanbieding.
Yes that's now on the list
(One of the European automakers has to break ranks eventually and offer a crossover SUV at a sensible price :D)
I think the styling is great.
I like it 😍😍
Price seems pretty decent.
The new infotainment is the same on all new VW group EVs now. They all have those permanent virtual buttons along the button and they are all 13", apart the ID7 which is 15"
The front looks like a Hyundai Tucson!
Interesting car, let's see if it rocks!
I get the umbrella, but why do need an ice scraper in an ev?
Never driven a car then?
@@rogerphelps9939 - you clear the screen via your app before you get in with an ev; been doing it for years, thanks.
Very nice!
