For an update on this, we had nearly $10k in this deal with hotels, uhaul, gas and the money to buy the stuff we did. Also, the first 3 consoles we went to test didn’t work unfortunately. That’s the cost of doing things like, we assume all risk when purchasing large lots like this. We also had to hire a another employee to start cleaning, testing and fully processing everything. Still feel good about the deal but there is so much work to be done…Buy outs like this are definitely not for the faint of heart!
Shout out to you Rick for not only getting the best deals and giving the best deals on the market but also helping out a friend to get rid of his inventory. You are truly kind hearted individual, and it definitely shows on camera, even though off camera I know you have claimed you come off as shy. You truly have heart of humbleness , humility and filled with meek. And I can not wait for the day I meet you to express the impact you have not only had on me as individual but the impact you continuously make in the community. Retro Rick, you sir are a one of a kind individual.
Also, the balls of this guy to ask for more when Rick throws out more than fair offers. People think there crap is worth gold. That guy could not sell this stuff for these prices on Facebook if he had a full year.
@@ant9771 I agree, that stuff isn't worth near that much and gaming stuff and consoles just aren't selling at all right now and that's a FACT because EVERYONE and their mama is broke as hell. My brother just tried to sell a very clean x box 1 with like 3 🎮 and a bunch of games on there and absolutely NOBODY is buying a dang thing because they just don't have it and he had to keep dropping the price until he would only go down but so far and FINALLY sold it and still pretty much gave the damn thing away which is just sad and stupid all at the same time. So many damn low ballers out these days as well with their lame and pathetic asses that want highly quality expensive stuff for a couple bucks, yeah how about uhhhhhh NOOOOOOOOO!!!!
There was a YARD SALE that had an N64. It was all DUST BUNNIES inside and out. Bought it anyway for a couple bucks. Took home and OPENED it. Cleaned DUST and CARTRIDGE SLOT with ISOPROPYL and Q-TIPS. Turned on N64 and VOILA! Now there's 6 games. 3 controllers. 1 Memory/Rumble Pak and wires. Nothing like the CLASSICS for a few bucks!
Idk if you’re talking about the first box 300 bucks for 5-N64s which is 60 bucks apiece. Yeah it comes with the controllers and everything, but was it a steal? Price charting is always a good reference point. And right now it’s saying 48.50 I console. And yes, stores always sell it at a higher price so there is profit to be made but I don’t know if it was a steal. I think he was very fair with the guy.
Ive seen those n64 with 1 controller no games go for 125 bucks. 150$ for one with 2 controllers. I get its part of the bartering but it was far from fair in my eyes but the guy seemed fine with it which is what matters, still got taken for a fool.
Nintendo released the "Challenge Set." This was a complete NES console with SMB 3 as the pack-in game. This is why the box for SMB 3 has Challenge Set printed on the box. That particular box you do not see very often.
Depends on the plush but I had an old AiAi monkey ball plush I got from a yard sale for $0.10 in the mid 2000's and sold it a year or so ago on Ebay for $140, so game plushes are worth money. I also recall the Harvest moon plush that came with the games were worth a bit too, I sold those long ago. I think you will do well with them
so much stuff has gone up in value the last couple years...i sold a pair of shoes for 50 bucks like 3 years ago and just checked recently and market price is around 800-1000 for them now...those prices were unheard of for that specific shoe a couple years prior
As much I don't understand full rooms in house dedicated to games, shoes, all sorts of collections at least I can get behind them in your house with easy access and viewing. But collections like this truly baffle me so much. What is the point of collecting them if you don't play or display? Mostly a rhetorical question but not fully.
I like that he didn't just say "well you said 250" when the seller said "I don't know, 250... 300?" and you offered him 275. A lot of people would have just fixated on the fact he said 250 first. Respect.
So I’m a new fan of retro Rick - both channels. I just got into selling old units and games. This was a CRAZY pull. I get it’s overwhelming but man he did let it all go kinda light. At the end of the day though…he sold most of it in bulk for a price that made sense for him. It was sitting in a storage unit and idk if any of you ever had one but it just adds up and becomes an expense. He had so much stuff that even just trying to move it and then ship it over time would just exhaust him. Might as well let retro do the work and you have to account for that in price. Great snag
Ive bought several collections like this for like 700€ -1000€ for the whole lot. Without looking too much at whats included in it. Usually one or 2 items paid back everything ive bought.
Dude reminds me of myself hoarding all that good cheap stuff from thrift stores. Except he rented a storage shed and I have all that sitting in my house. He made all his money back plus more.
Man I had to come leave a comment about how I appreciate what you do for the gaming/retro community! Just watched this video and the one of buying Retrowolf GameCube collection. I know you’ll probably make your money back on a lot of stuff but being able to buy these big lots and making these investments for your store are awesome! I’m not even a gamer but friends with Arkansas Pucker and started following you. I live in Bryant so hoping to check out your store in Conway sometime soon! I’m a picker/thrifter at heart so also enjoy the flea market videos!
Monty n64 boxes is what got me back on ebay 2 years ago. When I was cleaning my parents house out. Found so many game boxes and system boxes. Made around 900
Buyouts like this sure are not for the faint of heart. Sad to hear that some consoles didn't work. But this was a good restock. I literally checked the aged of the PS3 Super Slim recently and it became 10 years old. Some of the last-gen consoles are getting up and age and they have larger parts like fans and HDD and SSD failure rates are gonna be high if people aren't careful with them. New collectors and store owners like your self are gonna have to be careful. Great video.
5:48 I own the Sly Cooper Plush that was released along with the poster and the t shirt that sadly is too big for me to wear, and I’m never selling them. The plush is really cute and it has a removable cane with a magnet in both of his hands and a removable backpack. I also have a small collection of retro games across various consoles, my most recent acquisition is a CIB PAL version of Golden Axe, and it’s not only one of my favorite games, it’s also special to me because of the memories I have of playing it with my older brother.
Soon as Rick said 2k for the guitars, I think it was time to take a break or stop for the day. You can tell by the time the video was coming to an end his mind was mush.

I was curious when you guys were talking about the rock band fender guitar and drum combos and how much they all go for as well as my rock band guitar, I had no idea those things that have been sitting in my house for awhile were worth that much. There were many times I just thought about throwing it all away it since they take up a fair bit of space and I thought they weren't worth anything anymore.

Yeah I agree plus $8k is a good sum of money that could get invested in other things like buying a second hand car, paying down bills/credit cards, saving for a deposit on a home, buying gold, investing in stocks, going on a holiday, who knows.
Running a business is not cheap, it will probably take him weeks/months, to test, repair and sell everything. If you run a retro store you probably want a decent level of stock. I have seen stores in Australia with like 2 display cabinets seeing N64 games between $100-$200

Guy is wearing scrubs, guy was like “hey Rick, I have a storage building full of retro games but I’m in the middle of a surgery” Rick says, “Dude, they can wait. I need you at the storage building NOW” lol
If you need a storage unit to store all your gaming related stuff, you definitely have an addiction problem. On another note, I'm pretty sure most (if not all) non-working consoles can be brought back to life if placed in the right hands.

Love your Videos, hoping to get a Nintendo 3 64 for my birthday plus I’m in 🇦🇺 🎉
i wouldn’t mind buying one or two of the wii guitars, where could i purchase them from you
Good luck ❤🎉
You looked so tired dude. Just remind yourself it will all pay off in the end 😊
Should make a video of you selling games, would just be interested to see how the process works and how you're able to continue buying loads of games (the amount of money is obviously none of my business' or anyone else's) just curious. Probably TH-cam too I'm guessing? Love your videos!
Edit: Watched a couple more videos and had my question answered. Quite impressive!
Dallas, Texas, huh? How did y'all like the weather?
