One time I was on marketplace guy had an old baseball collection for sale $900 bucks texted him called him for 2 months. No answer about 6 months later I get a phone call out of the blue. Hi my name is so and so I still have these cards you want them....told him $500 he agreed. I sold the mantle for 80p on ebay and 2 other cards for plus 500 each. I tried calling the guy back to give him some more money make his day.....he apparently passed away during my time selling and looking everything up....idk man sometimes I believe in angels and that man was an angel. Exactly! If someone was buying an item for themselves that they wanted, they wouldn’t care where it came from, just resellers thinking yard sale sellers should have cheap stock for them to flip for profit
If I see printed eBay listings at a sale, I go elsewhere. Often times, like you said it's a current listing and not a sold comp and oftentimes the sold comps are for similar items, not the item offered. Many times I've brought this up to folks at sales and they just get butt hurt.
Today no sales really.. bought a mobile home hitch for 40, sells $700 consistently on comps. Push weed eater for $30, already sold for 200. Tools r insane for me usually.

So many people trying buy and sell games now has really made it hard find many at garage sales. I go to average 20+ sales almost every weekend and when say, you have games? People like ugh, no. Or they will be asking $10 for stuff not even worth $1 lol.
I had one yard sale where things were priced at ebay rates: They sold me a chronograph, said one sold recently for $100 and got me to pay $20. I looked online and none of them had sold
I sell on ebay and have 1-2 yard sales a year. For the yard sales I price 25-50 percent below ebay. After fees, etc 25 percent is about a wash. And I can still leave some meat on the bone for resellers….
5:30 Even worse than that I experienced last week where a garage sale had the Amazon renewed listings printed off and used those to justify their pricing. $350 for a 3ds is a little steep for me. And not a chance that you'll get $15 for a loose copy of Mx vs ATV untamed on the DS.

Chase, I saw in one video that you like to try and get a clean double up on your purchase. But what margin are you generally willing to tolerate? I am sure it varies by Price point given a smaller margin on a more expensive item can still mean a more worthwhile profit.
You should remove the batteries from the DS consoles when they are just on shelves like that, my red 3ds backing cracked when the battery started swelling.

As a potential reseller, I think I should base the price of my items 100% over the amount I purchased them for. So, if I bought a hat for $5 I would sell it for $10 at a yard sale. Then adjust that number to tickle the flippers and amaze the collector. So, I would sell the hat as much as $15 to $10 depending on the vibe of the purchaser. If I were greedy I would purchase a hat for $5 and sell it for $25 at a yard sale. Online is different, so if I were selling online I would price just under market value unless it was personal. 😁
