    I gotta have three channels, but I'm tempted to get one for my DJ Tech players, which I only have two of and are about the same size.

    great review, the Gains, if you set both your channels mid way on these mixers volume ,then use master to set volume of the room. Then you can set the gains with the channel volumes.

    • @raduc0m
      @raduc0m  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Jeff Thomson that's the mixing technique on most rotaries. I personally don't go over 7 on the channel pots, this gives me enough room for gain.

      yeh its a tricky one i found changing over to rotary, iv a lot of old vinyl with low recording and this is what i do.peace

    good review, one question. how is the isolator on the mixer? little worried cause someone said it doesnt cut enough db's out. also how do you like the mixer now that u have little more hours under ur belt?

    • @raduc0m
      @raduc0m  8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      +Elias sss sorry for the late reply, holidays :). I do like the mixer, as I said in the review, great performance for what you're paying, the built in quality is really good. I've already taken it out a couple of times and it sounded really good.
      As for the isolator, I'm not an expert but I think it does cut pretty well, one thing that I noticed is that if you cut the highs with the isolator, then if you cut them again using the channel eq you do feel a difference and it basically cuts a bit more when you're using the channel eq, if that should happen or not, I'm not sure. I'm not sure how that works on an E&S for example.

    Another question / what type of power unit is it? is it external? I assume this is 230v but could it be swapped for a 110v?

    • @raduc0m
      @raduc0m  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +isaidicanshout yep it's an external power unit. In their specifications they say:
      Power supply: 100-240 V AC, 50/60 Hz
      via supplied power unit

      Hope this helps.

    So as developers told us today: Isolator can't be heard in headphones, it was a mistake in MKI, they solved it in MKII. Thats strange because most of rotary mixers like Rane or E&S has this feature. But let it be.

    • @raduc0m
      @raduc0m  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Eshi Mischi well I have the MK2 version as you can see in the video but I don't hear the isolator in the headphones and I noticed that from the very first second, now if this is an issue or not I don't know.

    • @eshimischi
      @eshimischi 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Radu Comaneci as i said, i wrote to the developers and they told us that it was available in MK1 (i also have it and can hear the Isolator).. but it was a mistake. Well they are developers, they decided this situation in such manner.

    Hey i was just wondering do the high/mid/low knobs click in when they are in the middle?
    Thanks

    • @raduc0m
      @raduc0m  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      Nope, no mid click for the isolator. You have it for low/hi on each channel though.

    In your opinion, is it good enough sound wise to play out or in the club on a big system?

    • @raduc0m
      @raduc0m  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +mixit313 definitely, it's good enough, I've played already a couple of times, had it turned on for like 6+ hours, didn't have any problem, sound is also good.

    • @mixit313
      @mixit313 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Radu Comaneci thank. Where are they selling them?

    • @raduc0m
      @raduc0m  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +mixit313 They don't at the moment, you can ask them on their Facebook account, I think they're still producing the second batch right now, will go out in May, I guess.

      It's a very average mixer....and it's not good sound quality...believe me!
      And Ecler nuo 2 would blast this out of the water!
      Just coz it's a rotary mixer...it doesn't mean it sounds good!

  • @Gnarm0

    I wonder how often you need to adjust the gain of your Phono-Inputs for the turntables...
    Isn't that something you set just one time, when you're switching to other TTs?

    • @raduc0m
      @raduc0m  8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      So I have to say I have never adjusted them cause it's almost impossible to get there. I think Omnitronic did a wrong decission to:
      a. add gain controls
      b. place them in an unreachable place
      c. design them as 2 screws and not real knobs
      Just my opinion, might be wrong though.

    • @ibbyschannel
      @ibbyschannel 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Radu Comaneci nice review. have you found that the gain needs to adjusted for quiet vinyl pressings or can you just turn up track volume to compensate when playing quieter records? Cheers

    • @raduc0m
      @raduc0m  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      thanks Dan Ibbotson. That's exactly what I'm doing, mixing normally at 7 and then if the vinyl pressing is to quiet bumping it up to 8, 9, maybe turning up the bass/treble a bit on that channel. My gain controls are always at 50% I think.
      That's completely fine if you're used to rotaries, some people might have troubles though when coming from pioneer/allen&heath.

    • @ibbyschannel
      @ibbyschannel 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Radu Comaneci yeah sounds like the best solution. Where did you order from and how much? The stores advertising it say it's a pre order for March? Thanks again

    • @raduc0m
      @raduc0m  8 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      +Dan Ibbotson Here's where I got it www.musicandmorestore.de/dj-equipment/dj-mixer/2-kanal-mixer/omnitronic-trm-202-mk2-rotary-dj-mixer.html?force_sid=8a9dd8b71f741be3277a3fe72ea5dc31&listtype=search&searchparam=trm
      I was lucky enough to catch it last year right after the MK2 version got released. Available again starting March the 11th it says on the website.

    whats the sound quality from this mixer? compared to a pioneer djm ?

    • @raduc0m
      @raduc0m  8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      +Sile H so it depends what you're playing and what you want to hear from your mixer. The bass on this guy is definitely not comparable to the bass that you get from any digital mixer (pioneer/allen & heath). If you're playing only vinyl and you like the nice fat sound of an analog mixer, then you might wanna buy this and you'll find out it sounds much better than a digital Pioneer mixer.
      And yes this is a 100% analog mixer. No digital preprocessing inside.
      My opinion? It sounds better than a Pioneer.

    • @SileDevil
      @SileDevil 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Radu Comaneci Good! Abia acuma am realizat ca esti roman :)) eu momentan folosesc un djm 250 si pun doar pe vinyl deep house techno deci caut un mixer cu sunet cat mai bun la un pret mai accesibil.

      Radu,
      what do you mean by saying:
      "The bass on this guy is definitely not comparable to the bass that you get from any digital mixer (pioneer/allen & heath)" please???
      bass on this omnitronic is way better then on digital mixers or digital mixers have better bass?
      many thanks

    • @raduc0m
      @raduc0m  8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      +ARKADIUSZ MIKINA The bass on this mixer is definitely better than on most digital mixers on the market.

    It would have been good if you did a little mix rather than just messing with the isolator for 2 minutes. The rest of the review was helpful though.

    • @raduc0m
      @raduc0m  8 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Of course, but I had to hold somehow the camera and I need two hands to mix, so couldn't do it. If you wanna here some mixes though, I have lots of them cause I'm doing a weekly radio show. All of them get recorded.

      This makes it easier to cut the frequency's as the knobs are bigger and more spaced apart and should sound better too when cutting and adding volume etc.
