    I've been co-running a house/boogie/disco night for a few months exclusively using the radius 2 version of this mixer and we've been loving every moment with it. I'm pumped that they've made a 4 channel version and glad you guys got a review up so more people can find out about these awesome mixers!

      any opinions in comparisons to a condesa lucia?

    • @SparkleCarcass
      @SparkleCarcass 7 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      Honestly both are excellent and I'd be happy with either one. The Lucia is fatter sounding because of the fact that it's hand wired and not ic based. It also has full eq per channel and that fancy wooden case. The downside with the Lucia (in comparison to the radius) is that it costs about $800-900 more than the radius (and you also have to account for shipping from Australia). The radius also has split cueing which comes in handy for me from time to time, and even though it's ic based still has loads of warmth and headroom. The single high pass per channel is also a pleasure to use on the radius. In the end both are excellent mixers. My personal recommendation: If you have a large budget and want the best sounding mixer possible then go for anything that Condesa makes. On the other hand, if you're like me and want an excellent sounding and highly portable mixer (throw it in a backpack) to take out with you for weekly gigs then I'd recommend the radius.

      ordered a radius 2 ! thanks for the info , I heard that condesa was very open and the clarity was amazing, one person also said that there was a distinct EQ curve, that the colour was very distinct, I went for the Radius based on its transparency, and customer service

      Just curious, but are there any other kind? I've never seen a stepped ladder control in any mixer before. I can't imagine what something like that would cost.

    I look forward to your reviews and all. But, I wish you take time out to put into your reviews, some sound examples. I like to hear the sweep of the filters and the eq. I know it's youtube, but I like to listen for warmth of the track coming thru the channel and if the master is at the point of clipping. Is there any distortion. Some mixers and I purchase many of them. Has a problem of dropping off warmth and clarity, the louder you push the mixers.
    Same as the review on the technics 1200GR. I miss the part where you move the pitch and the deck wobble. But , if you showned the vinyl on the platter and backspinned the platter with needle on the vinyl. We all would seen the problem with the feet.

    Whats the deal with the send return? I am very keen on this mixer and would hope to use it with an external FX like RMX 1000 . Can you explain a bit more what the problem of using this is?
    Thank you

  • @tombeary2095
    @tombeary2095 ปีที่แล้ว

    I presume it's possible to use it with a RE-20 Space Echo with the send/return function? Should the dial be on pre or Aux? Or is it just left on pre with the pre button to turn the effect on and off? thanks!

    I would love a review of the Can Electric Taula 4. I’m in the market for a high end rotary and I can’t find much in terms of sound quality on this mixer.
    Features are pretty much exactly what I want.

    • @NineHellHeaven
      @NineHellHeaven 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      As good as the Taula looks, it is huge compared to other similar mixers. Not necessarily a problem but worth considering if portability is important.

    Hi MOjaxx - you mention the summing, really good point, how would you compare the pure summing between this and the RANE MP2015? I'm trying to decide and I'm after a sense of how creamily two tracks sit with one another -= what do you think?

    • @SkeleMusic
      @SkeleMusic 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      MojaxxVDJ this mixer is awesome! I use my rane mp2015 in a very similar way.. although i wish my rane had individual aux send volume that would be sweet! I have a boss re-20 and a TC Electronic Hall Of Fame reverb connected in series to my mp2015's fx send. Both pedals have their own dry wet so i use them to control the fx and put the fx send on fully wet from the submix. Its tedious getting the gain staging right!

    This is the first time I see a review of a rotary mixer being only familiar with fader mixers. Can someone tell me what the upsides are of a rotary or are they only preferred by people who like oldschool and analogue gear?

    • @Mojaxx
      @Mojaxx 7 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Pierre Verbakel It's kind of two-fold. Firstly, rotary faders do encourage a very smooth mixing style, perfect for long blends of house or disco, that kind of stuff. And then companies that build rotaries are also often companies who use high quality analogue components to create products with lovely warm sound.
      It's interesting to note that some of the big rotary guys, like Morales and Vega, have moved to the PlayDifferently Model 1 recently. That has the same philosophy about sound (and is designed by the same guy who designed the Radius), but has faders instead of rotaries.
      So it's mainly about sound, but kinda crosses over with rotary controls. If that makes sense.

      bias69 If you're playing house, or disco, or any genre which is all about smooth, long blends, using a rotary is a joy. They aren't to everyone's taste, but they definitely offer a different way to play, which many people love.
