    Is it me or is this so much cleaner than the EQ band on a DJ controller? Incredible

    Yes, +10 LED on the meters should entirely be your emergency headroom. I would recommend actually normally mixing only up to +5 and leave +7ish for the more dynamic, less compressed music that needs more oomph. Bounce symmetrically around zero and try to keep stuff a good average loudness rather than all the same peaks. FYI, you can't easily clip the channels since it's float, but red does equate to clipping on the master out with both the master volume or session out volumes at unity/max.

    Lovely equipment!!
    If you don't mind I have a question:
    I have only 2 Turntables (Technics). No CD player, Midi Controller etc...
    Can I play regular vinyl as well as Digital vinyl back and forth from the turntables, WHITHOUT HAVING TO SWITCH the input (Phono/SP) on the back panel of the mixer?

    Just picked mine up 2 weeks ago.
    How exactly did you get sound to play (in regards to this video) with your master and booth levels at 0?
    The rotaries feel a bit too loose for me; there's very little tension compared to urei 1620. I guess it takes some getting used to?

    Hey Rane,
    Wil this mixer ever come out with faders? I know its probably missing the point, but rotary aint for me, but i really like the design and features of this mixer. since many mixers have a rotary option, maybe change the game and offer a fader option for this beast?

      Funky1ism As you say, that's kinda missing the point of the 2015...
      You could achieve a similar feature set by adding an external isolator unit such as a Bozure ISO-201 to a Xone 92 either on the main out or through the 92's superior send / return routing options.
      If USB connectivity is a must perhaps a DJM 900. The 900 has the advantage of internal effects also, however it's filter section isn't in the same league as the Xone's.
      If it's the wood panelling that appeals to you, both of the above mixers have rack mounting threads on the sides, so finding someone to make you up two panels with the correct fixings wouldn't be too much trouble. The knobs can also be replaced on both mixers to get that lovely vintage look.
      Hope this helps :)

      +Jamie Mac yeah i know, i own a db4, wich is rather bad in terms of build quality. Thing is, i am in the market for a high end mixer, with faders, and i just love the whole look and design of this mp2015. There is nothing on the market right now, wich has my interest because i already owned a x92 and a pio djm 800. But these dont cut it anymore, so i was hoping Rane would release this with faders also...or something like this

      +def creator I've actually bought the MP2015 since my comment and can confirm its the best mixer I've ever touched.
      Have had a Xone 92 and DJM 900, and this blows both of them out of the water. It's fantastically spaced layout and great sound make it a joy to use.
      Was never interested in Rane before as their 64, 68 etc have always looked very cluttered and covered with controls if never use, but this beast has brought me over to them big time :)

      I like the DBs. You can also switch between fader or rotary on the 4. The MP2015 has a FIR-filtered ADC stage like some high-end DSPs. So it sounds good with line inputs. It is ruthlessly revealing, though. It's not going to cherry coat whatever you put into like a Xone, Mackie, or old Denon, and it's not going to give you bloomy, exaggerated lows like the DJM800.

    When did they add "MMXV" above the ISO? Mine doesn't have that :)

    • @ranecorporation
      @ranecorporation  9 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      It wasn't added, this is a factory prototype mixer. We thought MMXV was fun in roman numerals, but some didn't get it, so it was removed.

    Can you apply the Isolator on a channel and not the main out?

    • @ranecorporation
      @ranecorporation  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Favor Heights No, but the channel EQs are all 2nd Order Linkwitz-Riley full-cut isolator filters :)
