    A heads-up to people interested in the DJR 400 - this one in the video seems to have most of the optional features.
    I've played on two different units, and at least one did not have the cue LEDs (and of course, in a club with a poorly lit booth...).
    That one also did not have the cue/master pot which you can see in this video, and that was a major downer.
    Besides the switchable phono/line channels, sends, wooden sides... make sure you think about these options before ordering - I'm not sure they are by default.
    Fun bit of kit nonetheless!

    Actually, I'm pretty sure that there is also a market for a simple, stylish, analogue mixer that has faders instead of rotary pots. Most mixers these days copy and add more and more features on each new model, so it would be nice to see a beauty like one of these but with faders instead.

    Mo, really cool video. I played on a purpose built rotary mixer at a venue here in Tokyo. Once I got my head around it it was really awesome. the nice thing is the control of rotary and the sound. You keep working in the mix which is great.
    Enjoyed that and useful, thank you!

  • @Reticuli

    Curious how bad the Condesa measured in the RSH Audio 'Lions & Lamps' THD + noise and frequency response tests. Isonoe & MP2015 > Formula Sound & E&S > Mastersounds 4V (3rd tier measurements probably just because of the tubes) > MP2016 (lousy frequency response) > Condesa at the bottom of the barrel. They also did a bunch of useless other tests like max input & output clip points, cut ability, crosstalk, etc, and failed to do basic stuff like running impulse response, and test waveforms, or IMD tests. I'm almost wondering if the Condesa uses JFETs in there to mimic tube distortion, but it had an order of magnitude more distortion even than the 4V and worse frequency response than the MP2016.

      @@mikedubz5576, V6🍻 a piece of gold, as far as the increase in value is concerned, would also like to hear that. Small update, had meanwhile also sold the Condesa Lucia and the Mastersounds Radius 4, both of them again. I like the sound of Condesa a little better than the MS Radius, but they both color me too much. I also miss the spatial representation. With the 1620 also much better. In the meantime I also have an original 1620 and I have to say that my 1620 Le also has the nose in front here. This is certainly due to the fact that the components of the original 1620 are very, very old. The character of the Le is super implemented, also has a little more bass and the summation is on point. I like it better than everyone else, the DJR400 was also very good from my memory, Lucia and Radius were also good, only because of the strong coloring too washed out in the transitions, too much. For the 1620 and the Le version, I can only recommend buying phono and line cards from #danieldialatone, the best for me. And you can communicate well with him.

    • @Mojaxx
      @Mojaxx 8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I didn't actually use the send on the DN78, I'm afraid. We only had all the mixers for a short time, which is why this isn't really a review.
      If I had the money to buy one of these three (I don't) then it would probably be the E&S, for two reasons:
      1. It has the isolator, and 4 channels.
      2. It is on the tech rider of many travelling DJs, so there's a good chance I could make some money back by hiring it out to local venues sometimes.

  • @bladeronner01
    @bladeronner01 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    I dislike the fact that the E&S does not have gain control. I am a sound engineer. And every time a DJ uses this mixer, they overpower it. Incomming signal total clip!
    I know all/most the cheap djs do that. But hey, gain and chanel vu can fix a lot

      youtube's own audio compression would make hearing the mixers half worthless. It actually probably is (slightly) more helpful to hear subjective, separate opinions than to hear the outputs of the mixers at 128kbps AAC. Really, this is a simple overview, I'm sure if you're really serious about dropping 2.5k+ on a serious boutique rotary that you'd also be contacting manufacturers and trying to play around/with people who already have the mixers you're looking into. This particular video is about capping your imagination, not conveying super detailed information regarding audio quality :)

    Best sounding mixer - SUPER STEREO DN78.
    To all DJ’s.
    Stop using a computer and never turn the volume up all the way on any mixer.
    Set all your eq nobs all the way to the right and work the iso when needed. Learn how to pitch using the fader only on the CDJ.
    Do this and you will get gigs.
    If you do not do this you will never get gigs.
    Leave your ego and pride at home and learn your craft the right way.
    Play tracks that you & others will dance to.
    Also when you are booked to play at an event.
    Never have anyone in the DJ booth.
    You as a DJ will play the entire party by yourself.
    God Bless.

    Did You mention if the Super Stereo was discrete or ic based?

      DJR & DN78 are IC. The 78 uses valves/tubes. Condesa's are all discreet.
