My daughter is 3.5 yrs old. Right from start I started giving her same food we as family eat with lesser spice levels. For dinner we daily eat phulka and subzi. She eats the same plus rice. But at the same time we go to hotels,Domino's, mc Donald's on someweekends. She is habituated to eating everything, all fruits but of course she has her favorites.
My case is totally different. As I've never introduced variety foods(apart from varieties of sabji) for dinner, even if my son eats outside he needs dal chawal after coming home 😆 we only eat roti sabji dal chawal for dinner.
Thanks for sharing and helping us understand about importance of simple and home cooked food in today's time. Plz share few things regarding soon to be mothers...and post motherhood.
love you rujuta mam, love your tips and the speaking style and putting across your tips for us viewers,tu khupach chan vyakti ahes, wish could have a sister like you🙂🙂
Now this one is difficult... we eat lot of home made variety in dinner because that is the only time in a day when everyone eats together. I am wondering what is the right time to eat variety of Indian home made food then?
Kaavya Shah Ideal timings for breakfast is withing 2 hours after sunrise...Lunch around 1 or 2, and dinner within 45 minutes of Sunset....but these timings aren't always feasible with the urban schedule....but ideally somewhere close to these.
Please help us with a meal plan for just retired group of women and men, approaching their 60s and having a change in their daily routine owing to retirement.
Ma'am, now a days people are talking about Wheat has gluten. How healthy is it to have roties every night. Please help because my husband is diabetic and we all tend to have roties from past 3 years.
Hi, Rujuta, you keep telling to eat local food, what would you suggest for people residing outside India and the Indian local variety of vegetables and crops are not available.. like we are living in Switzerland and we do not get many Indian things
I really wish you will respond to my comment rujuta- I am a South Indian married to an American and by American I mean a Caucasian and not an Indian American. He obviously has not grown up eating Indian food so I switch up cooking Indian food and other kinds of foods in a week. We are now pregnant and baby is due in March. I am so confused what to make for the child when he comes of eating solid food age 🤔. Btw I cook only vegetarian food at home since I am a vegetarian and my husband was sweet enough to say no when I offered to learn and cook meat for him if he wanted. His reply was "I don't need meat. As long as it's good nutrious food it doesn't matter if it's vegetarian or non vegetarian"
hi mam muje 2 bacche hai,Mai roj uanko badam or walnuts bhigoke fhir mixer me nikal ke milk me details hun please please aap muje batao ye sahi hai ya nahi🙏
Rujuta u always talk about seasonal fruits and vegetables, however these days we see that even at local shops all types of fruits and vegetables are available, pl make a video on list of fruits and vegetables for every season of India. I understand it will be long list, however its important to include since it's your rule.
Hii..mam..i filled the registration form. But after that i dint get any further tracking forms. My son eagerly waits for the tuesday to listen to you. But we are missing the tracking part.
Aashi Karamchandani ayurved prohibits curd at night. It gives gynaecology related problems... Have curd anytime before sunset preferably by afternoon or early evening.
Akbar Khan Bilkul de sakte hain....But there's a few conditions with milk: 1)Fruits ke saath milk nahi khaana chahiye(Fruits are acidic in nature). 2)Fruits are best digested only in the mornings. 3)Milk raat ko best digest hota hain for all adults(and kids as well). Now, I feel Fruits are very important, especially bacchon ke liye, as they are still growing. Toh, I feel agar 7 baje ka school hain.. Toh unhe 2-3 varieties fruits de(1 palm quantity of each fruit) and a few soaked nuts(like badam, etc) also(15-20 average/ek mutthi bhar) Fruits will give them energy atleast for the morning.....Aapse ho toh Morning breakfast mein bachhe pura Roti sabzi wali lunch bhi kar sakte hain(As per shastras,Breakfast ekdum heavy hona chahiye. Toh pura din bhukh bhi nahi lagegi toh woh ghar pe aake lunch kar sakta hain(he will also avoid junk food at school also, you can pack some snack for schook breaks) So, coming back to the main concern..... Milk can be given at night 1 hour before sleeping, best with A2 ghee(you can research about A2 ghee, expensive but very beneficial especially if given in childhood itself. Just 3-4tsps daily by every individual in the family can be had throughout the day for benefits. )
My 3 years old son does not like to have milk but my MIL is forcing me to give him milk atleast twice in a day anyhow. What to do. pls help. My younger son is just 3 month old, so i dont have much time to puchkaro and manao and then pilao and problem is he is getting used to of manao and pilao. Pls help.
Mam my daughter she is stubborn stubborn for everything , I’m 28 but looks like 50 what to do mom life anyway she’s stubborn to everything especially fruits veggies and all healthy items, 6 months ago she was not like even thought she doesn’t like veggies and fruits but she was very kind, soft and she hates junk food all of a sudden now she wants all those kids junk food So my question is what we give them as healthy snacks and if kids reject to eat that what can we do? How to give their fruits and veggies?! Please suggest something about this What can we do for those kids blackmailing like shouting, crying and all , my daughter is now around 3 years old if she starts shouting we can’t stop her and if she getting any anger she tells us don’t talk to me,I don’t want to talk to you , leave me alone, omg these kind of dialogue now itself she is not even 3 and last question is how to control the kids become mad about tv , phone and all even we don’t gave them they don’t listen us what to do mam. This is daily war between most of moms and kids I guess 😀
Bhagya Bhagya Keep her away from all the bad influences and internet....If a 3-year old is like that, imagine what it will be like handling a teenager...this generation is getting out of hand because of all the exposure to unnecessary things and media...Throw out all the bad influences and bring her up like how your mom brought you up :) Get her soft toys, make her play with kids that play physically exahausting games(instead of internet games) Give her a bit of junk but start glorifying and hyping food that you want her to have like Popeye did with Spinach(like how celebs glorify junk in tv ads) so that she automatically 'chooses' to eat Dal rice sabzi....
1)You can give her 2-3 fruits that can be had in combination, in the guise of fruit juices(Black grapes, Apple, Pine-apple cocktail and so on)in her favourite fancy cartoon mug(so it creates a habit out of her liking) 2)Mango aamras puri is delicious and super healthy this season(Keeping it seasonal is golden, will benefit her even when she's grown up) 3)Invent games and play with all the members in the family(Games should involve whatever habit you want her to have or inculcate....like who eats a bowl of cherries faster, etc.), till she notices and catches on.... 4)Use strawberries and you can use literally all and any type of fruits by making Fruit truffle(Very easy....Layer of slice cake, sugar syrup, custard, Sliced fruits, Repeat layer...Garnish with organic home-made chocolate/strawberry sauce) For veggies: 1)You can make Pav bhaji(Max. Veggies like Peas, Capsicum, Cauliflower, Dudhi can be eaten through this) 2) Make chicken vegetable soup, puree all veggies and add them to your gravies, or make biryani with veggies.... 3) Frankies are the best....Roti with vegetables rolled up disguises as junk food but isnt.... 4)Make Vegetable heart-shaped or any fancy shaped cutlets and present it as something tasty out of a restaurant....
Thank you so much for rply By the way She is the only child for me and we are residing in USA So for away from family and friends ☹️ Thank you again I ll definitely try your tips
Hi Bhagya, has she started going to school in the US? If so, just check if she is eating properly at school...If so, that could be one of the problems for the difference in eating habits..The same thing happened with my son's eating habits ,since he started his daycare in Us when he was 2.5 yrs old. Still he eats Indian food, but not everything as he used to..he used to love khichdis, parathas and all..but now he prefers everything dry and separate.he loves dosas..eats rotis too..but nothing stuffed...he eats some of the veggies ..but prefers it more dry than our normal curry..Similar is the case with rice..he eats it sometimes .but insists on having it in a dry form rather than mixed with curry or dal..he eats veggies and Rice separate..same with fish and chicken too...he says either he wants only fish or only chicken..initially I used to insist a lot that he should have it all the same way we have it..but many others also told me the same thing..the kids are getting confused with the varied food habits at home and school and we can't blame them alone..avoid junk food, but try out various ideas of this kind..may be something will work out
