I just picked up this laptop for $500. Mine came with a 16GB so im definitely upgrading to 32GB. I didnt know it was so easy to take this thing apart lol, nice video thank you so much.
Alright so installed 32GB of RAM no problem. When i installed the new drive and installed windows onto that, the laptop is being read as a "Desktop". Trackpad and everything doesnt work anymore. Trying to fix as we speak but definitely a weird issue.
Update: After doing a bunch of windows updates and restarts, it works now. Looks like it was missing drivers. It detects my GPU and track pad works, wifi works, etc All the HP bloatware is gone so i guess thats a plus? If you plan on swapping out the drive itll prob be easier if you just clone it to another one and then swap it to avoid this hassle.

Well, that depends on how you go about it. If you just take the one out and put a completely blank one in, yes you’ll have to reinstall everything.
