Isn't that a space for a second clip, and therefore a second stick of RAM? Provided, of course, that one can solder. I'm also thinking about an internal hd or sdd in that empty-ish spot (there are tabs stamped into the cover that will have to go)
hi , i see you video and i install the ram, i have the same issue with the slab tha keep the ram on place, i try to fix but impossible , how you fix or you left with only one side ? thank you
Trying to upgrade to Crucial 8GB DDR4 SODIMM, but doesnt boot, the caps lock led light keeps blinking, is this RAM not compatible with HP 14s-fq0513AU ?
Answered my own questions. There's no SATA port, tho that little set of contacts right above the empty space is labeled HDD. If someone had the skill and part, they could probably add a working port. This same basic layout is used for a wide range of configurations and some of them come with 500 gig hard drives. A 7mm drive fits perfectly in the space. There's just no place to plug it in on this configuration. Too bad. I wish they'd spent the extra nickel to include the hardware.
Almost a year later, this computer is still going strong with the added memory (despite accidentally bending the clip)
Wait so I can’t add 16 GB?

But if you going to upgrade the existing 4gb DIMM with the 8gb DIMM anyway, you will either swap out the 4gb with the 8gb DIMM. Or if there is 2 DIMM slots, you will leave the 4gb in place and insert to 8gb DIMM in the second slot. Either way, you will need to open the laptop as shown in this video.
@@LanceMan6012 man, your laptop works good With 12gb ram? I have a hp 14 cm007la With 4gb ram and has another slot, should I remove 4gb ram and put a 8gb ram or better add a 8gb ram in other slot to have 12gb ram? I can have 16gb ram limit
I am searching for someone to make a video about "discharging high energy capacitors in power plants" ... since the RAM-Clip bending in your film you are my favorite guy for this kind of tasks. 😉
Sounds like an interesting challenge, but I suspect a professional at a power plant would have the proper tools for that
Good guide for dis-assembling the hp laptop.
excellent breakdown, thank you!!
Thanks for the post, now I can install my memory!
‼️ I found that rather than prying it open with a thin object like the guitar pic, just use that same precision screwdriver to push through the exterior holes from the very first screws you undo. It pushes the keyboard away from the bottom plate with no damage!
Hello I don't know if you're replying anymore on old videos but, I upgraded my laptop(same as yours) with a 16gb ram. So in total I have 24 gb Ram now. The problem is the audio, when I play a game, midway or 2mins into the game the sound buzzes in tandem with the in-game sound. I would really appreciate it if you know something about it.
I put 32gb RAM and not working, dark screen....
I'm assuming this applies to other laptops with internal batteries?
Well, for other HP laptops of the same design, but I think you'd need to look down at a teardown of a particular model to know for sure if the memory could be expanded
I also have Pentium Silver HP15
I do heavy gaming on it :D
GTA 5, Assassin's Creed, etc
So i wanted to add 4 GB RAM extra to give a boost to gaming
does it actually handle that?
Thank you! Very useful. Hopefully I can use this instruction for my HP Thinbook 14-bp021nd
FINALLY, I found a video for the specific model I’m working on, BUT, I need to access the SSD drive and I can’t find the friggin thing. Anybody know where it’s hidden? This model is different from others of the same 14-xxxx line.
Keep watching these videos to hopefully add nore memory into my laptop which is a HP 15-ba009dx
It seems easy enough.
I have exactly like this kind of laptop
How can I upgrade the ssd?
Is it possible to add 512 gb of ssd by removing 256 gb?
Space for 2nd ssd with optional ribbon cable and caddy. I love how each piece is it can't be expanded but it clearly can be but the processor does not support the extra speed
opening an hp is always an adventure
Indeed, and not necessarily something for just anyone
Thank you, very helpful to replace my hard drive for ssd on my hp cf0018ca which use same case
What's the name of your motherboard in the laptop?
Amazing tutorial
Hey Aaron I was wondering if you could help me .... I have a model 14 - cf0040a hp laptop ... I made the mistake of ordering ram online and when it came it didn't fit properly. Do you think it would be a good idea to purchase the same product gou used in your video ?
Isn't that a space for a second clip, and therefore a second stick of RAM? Provided, of course, that one can solder. I'm also thinking about an internal hd or sdd in that empty-ish spot (there are tabs stamped into the cover that will have to go)
Hi! Will this work on my HP 14-cm0014AU laptop?
hi , i see you video and i install the ram, i have the same issue with the slab tha keep the ram on place, i try to fix but impossible , how you fix or you left with only one side ? thank you
Could I also upgrade the processor ?
Not that I know of, it looked like it was soldered in when I had it open
Sorry, is it just me or there's no fan on these? If its there, where does it take in air from?
The speakers double as a ventilator/fan
Trying to upgrade to Crucial 8GB DDR4 SODIMM, but doesnt boot, the caps lock led light keeps blinking, is this RAM not compatible with HP 14s-fq0513AU ?
is it necessary to still stick on the ghz? and also can you reinstall the rubber feet?
Argh! Will that open space fit a hard drive or not? Is there a SATA port? You're killin' me, Smalls!
It not about skill but where to find the parts i think its just shity of hp to not include a sata port.
You could add a msata ssd but i think that port is occupied by the wifi chip
Sir is it possible to put an harddisk into this laptop, because i opened my laptop and i don't see where to connect my hardisk
This looks close to my HP 15 dy1051wm, hopefully should be just as easy.
