@@zeekamvs-2111 Its a single 8gb stick, have the same laptop that I've upgraded myself. Had 24gb until recently bought another 16gb stick and took out the 8gb stick. Now I have 32gb, which is barely noticeable unless you are using certain applications. Its a pretty nice laptop if you can get it on sale, but there is no driver support online so idk how long it will last.
Thanks. Bought this and upgraded my SSD to 2TB and RAM to 32GB to replace my 4 year old Lenovo Legion that ran into some screen hinge issues. Runs far better with 32GB of ram.
Just bought the laptop wednesday, and I ordered a 16gb stick when I bought it. Arived today, and I must say its a HUGE improvement. I had to debloat it day one, and trying premier pro just crashed every time I tried doing anything. Id say for anyone that wants to upgrade, but dont wanna spend 80$, to just get a single 16gb stick. Keep the 8gb stick it has, and have a total of 24gb. Youll have enough for any games, and have some headroom for some multitasking.
@@cozidonapreguissa yes correct, I just put in another 8gb stick and bought a 1tb NVME to upgrade. I didn't see it in the math to upgrade to 32 for the price. Would you agree?
Looking forward to the SSD upgrade video. I bought this laptop after seeing the Original video on this because its one of the first budget HP laptops ive seen that lets you upgrade both sticks of ram.
I can't say I am surprised. Good move. Last time I bought/built a system with only 8GB of RAM was back in 2005. Well, I also bought a very cheap celeron laptop back in 2014 or so with 2GB of RAM, but that was more of an experiment. (upgraded to 8GB myself). 32GB can be very helpful if you do video editing over a certain amount of complexity and length. Good looking laptop too. Pity about the only one SSD slot.
@johnathonready9347 yeah, but other than the cost it is also the matter of speed. I suspect for certain jobs it's better to have data on different drives.
@@TrusteftTech Never had a drive fail, but I don't do alot of data transferring. Wouldn't buy this laptop for that reason, but as a gaming and school laptop, hell yes. 4tb nvme is gonna cost you, but will cost less in the long run. Once you bought just one or 2 portable drives, you could of just gotten bigger internal storage.
Sounds like having a hardware cloner could be of a extremely useful for you. It would let you do a cloning with out needing software and wouldn't have to use the laptop or a desktop ; that would tie up that system. 32gb is nice - but when I do a laptop ram upgrade ; Ilike to get the amximum capacity in the fastest speed that's supported.
I have the same laptop, but it has 8GB of RAM. It performed much better with the pre-installed Windows 11, but after changing the operating system, it has become very slow. Even after updating, downgrading, and reinstalling Windows several times, the performance issues persist. I’m considering upgrading my laptop’s RAM to improve performance. Any help with this issue would be appreciated. Thanks!(conclusin : should i upgrade my ram of 8gb+16gb=24)
did you experience any drops to CPU temps, I'm running i7 14th gen with 4060, and 16gb RAM and im getting 80-90c CPU temp even with max fan speed, while ram memory usage is around 80-90%, If I upgrade to 64gb 5600mhz, do you think my CPU temps my drop as well? btw im playing World of Warcraft which is heavy CPU single core dependant game, not using GPU at all.
there shouldn't be any problems. pretty much all sodimm ram will run at standard JDEC spec speeds, so the system will essentially run at the fastest JDEC speed the ram supports out of the box. so if you put in 4800mhz ram, it will run it at that speed automatically.
Yes, you dont need to turn it on first to do it. you can swap it and it will automatically recognize the ram and run it at the correct speed since the speeds for SODIMM memory are far more standardized.

mine has been excellent so far with 24gb (2x12gb)..been looking forward to your video about this. performance is excellent for the cost. cheers.
Thats a weird upgrade, would of kept the 8gb stick it had and got a 16gb stick. Could of gotten another 16gb stick down the line for 32gb.

Its not going to run dual channel though

@@Speakingthetruth527 believe its cl46 at 5600mhz, as long as the timings are the same the size doesnt matter.

Its best to try to keep the two ram stick the same so I would recommend using another 8 for the cheaper option or two 16s if you want to go for it
When you uploading on how to update it two 2 tb ?
really easy to do so
What about cs2? Its my main game and Im aboit to get one Virtus with same specs but with 16gb ram
You can always buy other rubber feet and use those.
I forgot to ask what type of sticks does it use? DDR5? Or DDR4?
I’m pretty sure r4 but look it up
It's a DDR5 5600
Do you recomend the thermal kryosheet for the cpu and gpu? Or its better the thermal paste?
Hi, thanks for your wonderful video. Can I add a 16GB DDR5 RAM alongside the existing 8GB RAM?
did you get an answer?
It wont run on dual channel just the 16
Idk if the laptop has dual channel support, but it will work, the system will get 24gb RAM in total
