On PC yes you can use a G29 to play Forza Horizon or any game really. But on Xbox One, and Series S/X the G29 will not work as it's PlayStation and PC wheel. Only the G920 or G923 Xbox version will work on Series X. There are third party tools like a DriveHub and GIMX that can help use unsupported wheels on console but I have not used any.

Because the G29/G920 has the rubber stopper it becomes harder to push in (trying to emulate a real brake). So after a while you push in X mm and you get 2*Y % brake force. Is budget a concern? If you really want to go with Logitech and price isn't a problem I'd say get the G923. But if you can find the G920 for substantially cheaper and the features of the G923 don't appeal too much the G920 is still a good wheel. I put out a video on the G923 and some of the features. I've also been sent a G923 from Logitech and will have an unboxing and impressions for it soon. The main other competitor is the TMX Pro for Xbox/PC. And the T 150 Pro and 300 RS for PS4/PC If you have any specific questions. Cheers
It generally depends on the title and car. Also different games have different assists. In most titles you can use paddles even on cars that have a manual gearbox and vice versa. There's probably a game setting you can change to enable/disable the clutch pedal. In some games using the clutch pedal even on cars that have sequential gearboxes can make you faster. So it's down to looking at the game settings, car gearbox, then finding a balance of realism, speed and comfort that works for you.
Yes they've worked in every game I've used them in. Most modern race cars have paddle shifters. But even older racecars or modern production cars with manual transmissions the paddle shifters can be used.
I've found Sim Racing to be a great hobby to get into. But I've been into racing games for a long time. As I've gotten more into Motorsports I've found I want to experience more realistic driving experiences. If you can try it I definitely recommend doing so. Maybe find a store like Microcenter that has a Sim rig set up. Also if you have a friend with a while maybe you can borrow it or go to their place to try it out. Stay safe!
I know I'm a bit late to the party, but great video! By far the most detailed video that I have found. I'm thinking about getting a refurbished G29 for $180, and a new Thrustmaster TH8S Shifter to go with it (because it seems a lot nicer than the Logitech shifter,) the G29 and the TH8S should work fine together as long as I plug the shifter USB directly into my laptop, right?
Can confirm.the TH8S is nicer than the Logo shifter. It comes with an adapter to plug into a PC via USB. On PC you can mix and match as many individual peripherals as you like as long as they can act as a standalone USB device. Each will appear as a separate game controller and you'll be able to map them to whatever you wish in the game/Sim. Thanks for watching! Happy racing!

I just bought G920. Do I need driving force shifter? Or I can adjust it from the steering wheel?
So wait. Should I plug this into my pc and update the onboard firmware before plugging it into my ps5?
I think it'll probably work with the drivers on the wheel. But could be worth it just to check. You'll have to download either G-Hub or LGS
When ever I move my G920 wheel. I can here a sound like the wheel is loose. Is this normal?
Amazing review, thank you!
Great review video. Thanks.
Cheers. Thanks for watching!
Is there a version of Logitech’s G29 wheel and pedals that will work with Apple’s MacBook Pro or Air? Thanks
no but not worth it anyway as there are barely any game that work with Mac's anyway just convert it to windows
What is your opinion, should I go for the g920 or the g923.
And the T 150 Pro and 300 RS for PS4/PC
If you have any specific questions.
Cheers
I have a g920 & love it !
damn bro havent seen such an in depth review in a while. A definite sub from me waiting for some more content
Thank you Povilas! I put a lot of time into it so glad you liked it!
Povilas. I haven't seen that name before. Where are you from?
@@BallisticTech hey glad to cheer you up. I'm Lithuanian so there are a lot of strange names you don't see often
@@povilaskirna4108 Ah happy to learn something new! What is new to me is normal to you! Thanks again for watching from Lithuania!
I love how u got f1 in the try not to laugh(f1 is my favourite sport)
Th8s vid is what made me buy one it's coming monday
Mines coming Wednesday
Ayyyyyyyy
hey nice vid
my question is if you need to use the clutch when using the shift pedals ?
It generally depends on the title and car. Also different games have different assists. In most titles you can use paddles even on cars that have a manual gearbox and vice versa.
There's probably a game setting you can change to enable/disable the clutch pedal.
In some games using the clutch pedal even on cars that have sequential gearboxes can make you faster.
So it's down to looking at the game settings, car gearbox, then finding a balance of realism, speed and comfort that works for you.
a tips for countering oversteer is to lock the front wheels
Im going to be using it on PC. Should I buy the g920 or the g29?
Question: So without buying a manual shifter the paddle shifters work well?
Yes they've worked in every game I've used them in. Most modern race cars have paddle shifters.
But even older racecars or modern production cars with manual transmissions the paddle shifters can be used.
@@BallisticTech Thank You SO MUCH for responding so fast to me. Real life saver

这位兄弟讲的很全面,切合实际。我推荐!
Is it wierd that i've always hated racing games but I really want to try a driving sim with a wheel? I do enjoy real life driving so maybe thats why
Stay safe!
@@BallisticTech I'm very happy I just bought a G920 for 89 euro now to try Beamng and Assetto Corza!
Can you assign the clutch pedal as the brake?
Could I just use the wheel? Without the gas pedals? Also, will that wheel tighten ok on a thin glass top desk
Do we need to buy supports for the wheel ?
I'm getting this for my birthday! :)
Any mod upgrade recommendations? Springs?
Does the pedals grip to the floor without any playseat?
@@BallisticTech Awesome, thanks! I was a little confused about how all the different peripherals would coexist, thanks for clearing that up!
2:26 Logitech MX518... Best mouse ever made!!!!!!! Would buy them new if i could
They did a re-release with new sensors a while back. But yeah I loved that mouse.
@@BallisticTech They did?! let me grab my wallet
@@TheSupar Yeah I think it's actually only like $20 at Best Buy
You had me at the intro 😂😂😂
Will the G920 be able to connect to a laptop?
