I have been following your boxing lessons from over 2 years. Honestly shane i am getting into mma and your lessons helped me a lot and my coach said to me the first day that you,ve good boxing skills .Again master shane thanks a LOT LOT LOT LOT !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
every time i train and then fight its like my arms are heavy my knee's are week palms are sweaty there's vomit on my sweater already i think its my moms spaghetti im nervous but on the surface i look calm and ready to drop bombs but i wont for get to try and avoid it
I've done the 20 minute heavy bag workout you did video on about 2 years ago. Starting to look really good now, thanks to you! Keep doing what you do man 👊
Bro I finally got a chance to do the miss miss hit and the switch stance. Makes a big difference. I will continue to use these drills to get better. Thanks. Keep up the great work
This is exactly what I needed, a workout drill. The other day I watched a video on bag drills but it seemed to be more focused on power and strategy. The guy is a muay thai champ and had crazy speed. I'm an average overweight guy trying to lose weight so when I tried to copy his moves as best I can I lost confidence and felt like everything hurt. I love the art of muay thai and it gives me confidence in self defense so these more simplistic drills give me hope, thank you!
Great video. The tips on how to miss with your punches are great. I tell that to my students all the time, if they are only used to hitting all the time, then when they miss they might hyper extend or go out of balance when they miss for real.
I’ve tried this and it works very well very beneficial for sure your arms, cardiovascular will improve big time arms won’t get fatigued as easy doing this workout and eating well great job man!
Always loved your videos... works well for someone like me who can do all this at home then going to a gym.. I got my own bag gloves.. just waiting for me to start this
I train at Adrenaline MMA gym in London, Ontario with Sam Stout, Mark Hominick, and Chris Horodecki. Yesterday they implemented a new striking system and did their first blue level test. The test has two parts: 1- technical: basics punching combos, knees, kicks, push kicks, dutch drills, pads work, holding pads, and slipping punches. 2- fitness: 10 min skipping, 1.5 mile run, 30 pushups, 40 sit ups, 50 sitting ducks, and 25 burpees. I was confidant of my technical skills, a little worried about my fitness level... For the past month I've been going over your cardio and stamina videos and do them every day... And now I'm a blue level :)
Thank you Shane I started to create a boxing comic about a year or so ago and so I started struggling to think of reference material, then I found your videos and use a lot of them for reference so thanks.
+fightTIPS thanks for replying, I`ll see if I can get a link to some artwork, It`s about a kid who`s pushed into boxing at a young age by his dad (who had to retire and cut his career short due to injury so he wants to push his son to do it) the boy is abused and beaten down till he get`s all the punches perfect. a few years later his dad has died due to terminal illness and the boy has no money, while trying to help his mothers little business, they run out of money, so he has to step back in the ring to make more money as that was the only thing he was good at, then he realises he really does love boxing and he starts to commit his life to it, and begins to thank his dad for giving him his passion. so while the dad is not the nicest guy, he really does influence everything the boy does he is a featherweight and an out boxer who can still go head on in a brawl but he isn`t so strong, nevertheless he is resilient and never stays down till the end.
shane could you make videos on how to land stuff like a front kick Anderson silva style of a wheel kick because it's easy to do the technic but to land it is very hard. love your videos btw keep up the good work
nice Shane! Good stuff. once I finish wit what I gotta do everyday after school for this next week, I'm gonna start going to the gym again the following week and do this workout whenever im hitting the heavy bag. :)
well hey the miss-hit training method was really effective!! great for training reflexes when the punches miss too!! can't wait to try em', and the 30x30x30's gonna be challenging, looks cool, the only training i've done was the stance switching, i agree, we need to balance our left and right, it improves body coordination too! great video Shane!!
When I do my heavy bag circuits, anything not alternating like my combos or tech. drills, I always do same number for both sides. It doesn't feel awkward but whenever sparring or pad work, partners can always tell the difference. one side is faster and the other side is stronger lol
+fightTIPS Hey Shane.. this is awesome... can you do a video on how to properly use boxing gloves? My thumbs just rest on the side (like thumbs up) do you "force" it to go downover the fingers? thanks
The time of dubstep, I believe, has ended. Try listening to some old-school funk while you train. I swear by it. Jazz is fun as well, climb inside and around those strange time signatures. Very energizing, love the MP3 download idea, very progressive man.
could we have a video where you show how to get explosive flying or flying switch knees that cover a great range. like the one you threw in the end. that was cool
