This is the most underrated part of Muay Thai that isn't enforced enough in western style gyms. This foot work and rhythm is what truly makes it Muay thai instead of kickboxing with elbows.
It‘s all preferences. Kickboxers are usually kicker on their feet similar to Karatekas, meanhwile the Muay Thai stance allows for more stability, powerful teeps and it‘s easier to block against leg licks as you stand almost square. So all those stances work, they have pros and cons.
It depends, the bladed kickboxing stance gives you more speed. You can move around faster. But the Muay Thai stance allows to block leg kicks faster, it‘s more stable and you can teep easily, a good stance but other stances can work just aswell. It‘s about the fighter and preferences.
The rhythm of Muay Thai is as mesmerizing as your favorite song. I am a guitar player also and understand music from an ancient perspective back when shamans in rituals and ceremonies always incorporate some type of musical repeating tone, hum, singing, and or rhythmic beats on drums, shakers, two sticks, feathers and gourds. Rhythms are hypnotizing and create a healing via self and body. Muay Thai March is just as therapeutic as the a shaman's song. Check out shamanic drumming videos on TH-cam.
IMMEDIATELY ABSORBED! Thank you SO much for this, its EXACTLY what I need to teach my fellow amateurs the basics of why rhythm is important. I've struggled with maintaining my rhythm, myself, but teaching it is a whoooole nother battle. Please never stop being who you are, the Coach for all the Underdogs! I wouldnt be the fighter I am today without a freaking DECADE of FightTips! You're the man!!
I come from a boxing background and i love Muay Thai. Only issue transitioning over was the rhythm aspect. The realization hit me when i fought someone who trained PURE Muay Thai from someone who competed in Thai stadiums for years. It’s like difference between a pure boxer technician with crazy precision, accuracy and movement vs a “MMA boxer” it’s a VAST difference
The title got me! I’m a beginner learning Muay Thai just started this year. I needed this! I enjoy intuitive dance, but felt like a fish out of water trying to find rhythm in a fight stance lol
I don't do Muay Thai but I do very similar drills to teach rhythm in boxing. I like the change from 1-2-3-4 to 1-2-3-and-4. You can vary that to 1-and-2-3--4, 1-2-and-3-4, or even 1-and-2-and-3-and-4. Thanks for posting!!!
You're teaching methods are always super helpful and inspiring! I've been trying to explain to my son the importance of understanding rhythm. This is now mandatory watching material. Thank you for doing what you do! OSU!! 🙏🏽
This was awesome! Same basic fundamentals that might coach goes through with us. But watching a video of it several times on my own is very helpful as well 👍
@FightTips I got your hybrid gloves. They're great! You think you can come up with more cool designs like Special Editions FIGHT_TIPS Gear. Would love to see what creative things you can come up with for us if you do go through with this. Thanks for teaching others actual self-defense and not some Aikido shenanigans. They tik me off, lol.
I just want to ask that how many hours should I train/workout a day? I am little fat, I am interested in boxing but I also want to build some muscles and lose fat. But when I saw your one video, I find that you workout 60 or 45 minutes a day and you do many less weight training then how you have so much muscle mass?. So how many hours should I workout a day?
I use that as a warm up so I stretch this Drill to 40 min so I get this passiv in my mind after that I learn New kicks or combos. Would anyone recommend that or you think I should do that seperat in a Session?
@@fighttips that is fantastic! I remember the original videos and they are only getting better and better! Old friends are some of the best parts of life- all the best to you and keep up the great work!
I’m new to Muay Thai honestly I don’t have the finances to get into a gym but I like to attain knowledge and practice alone. In the half beats, do you swing your leg back to generate force when you’re throwing that punch? I’m not sure if I analyzed it well, but it seemed to me that you were timing the punch being throwing at the same time your leg is swinging back. There’s like a synchronized movement and they both meet at a certain point while one retracts the other extends. Did I analyze that well? And could you make videos on how to analyze, read and or predict your opponent’s movements
Im getting absoloutely smashed in sparring, kicks getting caught, people catching my head and not being able to block any kicks wither, even though in drills i got them, im hoping making ny footwork solid will imrpove it, any other advice is more than welcome if you have any 😊
Receiving dianetic waveforms for free WILL absorb but what about third part thee Integration… and not even further down the road for Recovery stage which obvious to all and you think absolutely nothing of it. 😅

This kind of rhythm concept in fighting is fucking fascinating
I'm a bassist that's just getting into muay thai. This drill resonates with me because I can see how the beats fit in with the movement. Thank you

Appreciated this. I find lots of basic footwork tutorials online but as a drummer, I’ve been really curious about how complicated it can get.
Wait until you see the paradiddle superman punch teep check move.
Definitely appreciate this, I just started Muay Thai and although my upper body knows what to do... My legs are dumb.
gotta say the way you broke that down was one of the best vids i seen.
This is great. I have had a tore up knee for the last 6 years, so I'm really limited, but I can do this. Thanks.
Great drills! Been to lots of gyms and shocking first time I have seen these drills!!!

As a musician I love this!
Hello I’m a 11 year old who loves boxing and before this I had literally no rhythm. Thank you so much for this :)
This style of rythm is better for muay thai or kick boxing boxing is way different
That rhythm has no benefit in boxing. It‘s mostly for fast leg blocks and teeps. Not needed in boxing
Thanks for everything you do
Footwork is King
Much needed, thanks a ton brother 🔥💜
Really good manual! Thanks!
Really awesome thank you for this going to do this every day until perfected!

Amazing drill, now I can do my Muay Thai better when I spar with grandma.

Loved The Drill Can You Please Do A Similar Rhythm Video From A Wider Stance Like Karate Or Taekwondo?
I have been watching your videos for a long time. I am over 30 now ,can I achieve full mobility for martial arts if I start now .
You should do this drill with bachata on the background😂
If you mix boxing with Muay Thai. Is it possible to stay in boxing stance while hitting Muay Thai combos mixed with boxing?
If you stay in the boxing stance it’s incredibly easy to get your feet taken from under you
Heavy front leg equals easier leg kicks for him. Especially lead inside
Could throwing a fake left round house then quickly follow up a right jab be effective to confuse the opponent

Stick with it, you GOT this 👏
What is the difference between Muay Thai and Muay Boran?
Heyy very very new in your vid,i want to join your muy thai lesson ill join
❤
I need a rhythm lesson got as much rhythm as a fish outta water getting tazed 😂
My back and legs gives me a cracking sound every time I lift my kness...how can I fix that?
You probably spend too much time sitting, if that's a case move more, warm up, start slow and maybe stretch a little after workout
@@tprnbs thanks, I'll try to...
