    I've worked out on traditional heavy bags th-cam.com/users/postUgkxp9-sf95nqfjey-uyzxUzQ7m9MXRPK1BE a spherical stuffed "wrecking ball" bag, and now this thing. What I like about it is that it has the heft to stay largely in place so I'm not chasing it around. It's tall enough to allow for headshots and body shots, but it's short enough to give an uppercut somewhere to land. I'm very happy so far. Filling it was a bit of a cluster. For top-offs, I've learned that you can screw the supplied nozzle onto any basic plastic water bottle. I can't speak to durability as I've only had it a week.

    I'm glad I also thought that when the bag is swinging, it is like the opponent is fighting back. I still need to watch lessons on blocking and evading but I am getting better at my footwork.

  • @deceo2119
    @deceo2119 5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    Whenever I'm on the bag I can't help but change stances. And I have a few different techniques I like to go to in South paw. But some pointed out to me that it's easy to be offensive in both stances but not defensive. I noticed how much more awkward things like footwork and head movement is from the opposite stance. These drills are gonna be great for tightening defence in both stances.
    Top class again Shane.

    • @freelancer5816

      A heavy bag is good for target practice. Also, an opponent won't stand still or move slowly. Aka heavy bag.

    • @bryanp5534
      @bryanp5534 5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@freelancer5816 I feel you, that's why I have a double bag too. I like the work on defense with a heavy bag. A lot of people only have access to just a heavy bag.

    • @freelancer5816
      @freelancer5816 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      I feel you @ bryan pryor that's great! Study your opponent and the shadow box with imagination, mirror the opponent's unpredictability until their moves become preditable. Feel the punch from those back muscles(your wings) get technical with it. Study their footwork, get comfortable and practice propper breathing techniques. Breathing is key, followed by speed, and power.

    • @freelancer5816
      @freelancer5816 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      @ Pryor also footwork, there are footwork techniques I am only aware of two; ballpoints and flatfoot. Flatfoot creates grounding, this is where power comes into play. I have arched feet so I can play around with both techniques. I love it! Don't be afraid to mix it up, train to the point where it becomes second nature. Study all fighting arts. Don't forget fundamentals. Don't think about or you WILL lose.
