Dr Grande, you’ve just made my day!! A few weeks ago, I requested you cover this crazy story… and here it is. You thoroughly researched this guy and came up with a lot that I didn’t know about. Thank you!
This sounds a lot like the Jean Claude Ramon case in France where a failed medical student led everyone to believe he passed, keeping a family and a reputation among his social circle. He need to defraud family members to pay the bills to maintain his image. That would be a good case study for Dr Grande.
That sounds like the Chandler Halderson case who was supposedly attending college and working part time, and offered a job at SpaceX. None of which were true, and his dad found out...
Also sounds like the case of Jennifer Pan, who made fake school records to convince her Asian parents that she had passed high school with straight A's. When they found out she was lying, she pretended to accept their ultimatum of pursuing an honest college degree, and then arranged for her boyfriend and his friends to murder them. Her father survived but ended up with brain damage from being shot in the face. I think Dr Grande has already covered that case, however.

There seems to be a pattern with wealthy high-flyers who lose their money and status: they don't consider getting a more modest job and scaling back their lifestyle and discretionary spending, they go straight for crime. It's like the humble, honest jobs millions of people around the world do everyday is beneath them. It speaks to an arrogant entitlement which adds to the criminality of their behaviour.
Well when they do take more menial jobs, people don't make TH-cam videos about them.

Dr. Grande, you are one of the hardest working TH-camr out here in the internet. I don't know why, but I feel sorry for this dude. A little less sorry since you said he was obnoxious to his soon to be ex-wife when trying to get her to remain with him. Well, I guess their marriage was not good since he never felt he could share information about losing his job etc. I don't think it is appropriate for one spouse to deal with the household finances while the other one does absolutely nothing with the finances. I mean paying bills etc., not necessarily earning the money. I hope the children made out ok with the father in jail and the mother with limited income!

I actually think it's amazing how he robbed banks just walking in and out, and his prop the coffee-cup. It's not something one should do, of course, and I bet there are a lot of traumatized people, which is not right, but it's amazing how he just pulled it off 😲

Note... even if he had his arrest record expunged, they still would have matched his print. "Expunged" basically just means that it won't show up on civillian background checks... but background checks run by law enforcement will still have record of it (there might be limits on how they can use the info, I'm not sure). In the software that tracks these things, its literally just a field that says "has this been expunged?" that gets set to 'yes', but the information is not actually deleted or anything.
