Bought a 5.0 R spec from a dealer, in 2013 and so far in 7 years it stayed 0 days in Dealership for any repairs. I rest my case.

I bought a used (like new with 22,300 miles on odometer) black Genesis 4.6 liter V8 a year ago and have no regrets. I have two other cars and this one is specifically my summer road trip machine. I've now taken it on five road trips and love the experience. Just this morning I drove 300 miles down to Long Island from upstate NY and I can honestly tell you that upgrading this car's engine to a 5.0 liter was totally unnecessary. Step on the gas with the 4.6 under the hood and the car moves like a rocket. It will go from 30 MPH to 90 MPH in the blink of an eye. In fact, it reminds me of a thoroughbred race horse because it really wants to run. Without using cruise control it is difficult to stay below 80 MPH on an open road and don't be surprised if you've drifted north of the 90 MPH mark without even feeling it. In addition to the pure speed available, it is quite nimble and responsive for such a large vehicle. I've had to make a couple of sudden evasive maneuvers around distracted drivers and the car displays an impressive athleticism. This is the car I want to be driving on my road trips and I intend to keep my Genesis for a long, long time. PS---I don't mind the "flying H" Hyundai badge on the trunk but for those who want something more distinguished looking, you can buy an after market Genesis "wings" logo on-line for about fifteen bucks and replace the flying H with a badge that looks similar to the Bentley wings. I recommend you watch an instructional video on how to do this right here on TH-cam first, however, otherwise you might damage the paint.

0-60 4.9 seconds. quarter mile in 12.9. 429hp. and you can find a used one for 15k with less then 50k miles on it. you will not find a better car then this. no one wants to hear about your amg that will cost you thousands of dollars every couple months. this is a Hyundai easy cheap maintenance. dont get me started on bmw's... i wouldn't say it competes with them cars because the people who buy bmw/amg are just doing it for the name. not for perfromance. it's like the apple fan boys, but much worst.

I'm buying a 2013 with 45k miles for $15,999. It's an absolute steal for what you get. I actually cross shopped it with an E550, but the Mercedes wasn't as nice to me. And the Genesis definitely pulled harder. The E550 was $23,999 so it saved me a lot of money.

Your wrong 13.2 quarter mile with Shell V Power gas 13.1? With the gov off then Genesis R-spec can reach top speed186 mph? Top end same generation it will beat the Camero, Mustang and Srt 8? Not a bad sleeper car and a good cheap used car to buy thats sporty and luxury. Also reliability is pretty dam good and the car is fully loaded with a very good stero not bad a lot of car for the money.

when hyundai stepped up their quality they should have stepped up their logo too. i think that logo left a bad taste in everyones mouth in the 1990s. now when someone gets in this car and is ready to fork out serious cash for it, they are going to see that logo on the steering wheel and say "...oh yeah.. hyundai"

I loved this car in 09. Drove this one in 2012. They cut alot of cost around the cabin. The sun visors are paperish material. Headliner feels like a hyundai accents. Door handles were chrome on 09 and are now painted silver. It drives smooth and quiet but isn't sporty or refined. It was ment to be a knock off mercedes/bmw and it feels like one.

The Genesis R-spec 5.0 quarter mile is 13.2 and with Shell V power gas 13.1? The top end speed with gov off the Genesis R-spec 5.0 can reach 186 mph? The car was designed in Germany and the one of the directors of Lambergini help build the motor? This is a good used car and a sleeper. This car is also very rare there is not many made. This is a good used car to buy reliable and fully loaded with 17 speaker Lexicon stereo system a lot of car for the money. The biggest complaints is no sports transmission and back seats dont go down.

It is simple and logical. And you forgot to mention them 17 speaker surround with 528 watts. The map screen is just for looking at the map of nearby places the navigation screen is to enter directions to go to a destination. Wth brian cooley I thought you were smarter.

Quite a few Chevy's and Chrysler's are not made in America and the Chevy Spark is a rebadged Daewoo. Also a Toyota Camry is much more American than a lot of Ford's, Chevy's, and Dodge's because it's made here and also most of it's parts including engine are made here. Even if some Ford's, Chevy's, and Dodge's were made here they contain more foreign parts. Buying American is not as it really seems.

It doesn't sound like you really understand the concept of compare then, because that itself is a comparison. It's not really impressive because they probably used a base V6 and maybe the weakest V8 for the comparison but it is what it is. And I can think of another way in which the Genesis compares favorably, looks. Which isn't hard to do because the Panamera might be the worst looking car on sale that isn't some chintzy supermini from eastern Europe.

I think Hyundai putting "faster then a Porsche Panamera" in their commercials sets them up for failure, because there is no way it can compare.

your wrong my friend, its the infiniti m hybrid is faster than the porsche panamera hybrid. Not hyundai

When he says "No pressure there" regarding having M, 5 series, E550 as competitors, what does that mean? Does he mean no pressue because those are easy to compete with considering no one buys Infiniti M and E550? or the other way around?

I believe he's said it in a sarcastic way, like the Genesis is not competing with your avergae Honda or Toyota, but top of thr class cars.

It was definitely sarcastic. That is a lot of pressure.

Yes, people obviously don't buy cars depending on how large the companies that make them are. Nor do they choose them by simply comparing prices. They focus on the value for money, and with these cars.. I personally don't think they are offering something worth what they are charging, not at all

Why? Ford doesn't make a car this good. The Taurus is not a luxury car.

It only has one piston holding up the hood. That is pretty budget if you ask me.
