I mean they made this the first IBO sdcs kit, they made a Metal robot, they crossed the MG with the 1/100 to make an "mg Barbatos"

Honestly? I feel like the the angry eyes with the pupils is far, far better than the blank ones. It just feels more fierce, and they did a good job at going for minimalist pupils that departs from the cutesy pupils from the green visor. I honestly feel like you could stick those kind of eyes on even the realist of real robot UC designs and it would work.
I picked up the SDCS Zaku 2 and the dark grey CS frame (along with some other simple kits like a 30 minute missions kit so I could build them to cope with stress) back when they were new and one thing I absolutely adore about it is how nice it is to just pick up and fiddle with. It feels more like a figure than a model kit and I just love that about it.

I saw an add on for sale on ebay (not made by bandai) a while back that gives hgs or 1/100 IBO kits the angry red lightning look Barbatos has at full power that keeps crippling Mika. But yes they should, but it would be p bandai i bet.
But isn't the plastic that you cover the sticker with on barbatos red so just paint the plastic around the eyes black and boom ez red eyes don't even need to put the sticker but it doesn't reflect on the light so might as well put some metalic red on there
You can always paint them. It's an easy part to just coat paint with a brush without worrying about being tidy. Could even use a red gundam marker for that much. Or take some time to figure out how to add some more detail which still wouldn't be that difficult to do.

Damn. I always thought the Barbatos long arms look weird, but now with the SD head, it looks right now with long arms.
Started buying the SDCS kits a few months back. Definitely cool to add to your gunpla collection. I prefer the CS frames over the standard SD. So I always buy them if the kit doesnt come with one! Cant wait to see more from this line!
I feel like the reason the SD head looks better on the 1/144 and 1/100 body is because it makes the proportion more human because if you scale down a gundam to human size, their heads would be tiny so the SD head, especially on a 1/100 makes it look like a guy in a suit instead of a giant robot

The LED lights you have for the set-up make the angry "Sentient robot" eyes look like Barbatos has the same blind eye as Mikazuki got from overusing the Alaya-Vijnana System; one bloodshot red, one relatively normal.
I literally can't unsee that panel line on the white mouth plate as a little grumpy mouth. I just can't. Especially in conjunction with the cute eyes.
Short answer to the title of this video: yes. But we love it anyway.

Any plans to look at the Cross Silhouette Booster 2 when that comes out? It has a new hip section that will let the leg drop down and I'm curious to see how much that improves the front kick. Also curious to see if the Zeta Gundam Wave Rider part could be useful for the Earthree parts as well.

I always hated SD kits (mind you, this was back in 1995-ish when they were frankly crap), but I took a chance on this kit and honestly it has created a new problem for me.
I bought it, I was absolutely happy with the CS kit being included, and with the model in general. So I bought two more kits that were branded "SDCS", the unicorn destroy and the earthree. Imagine my disappointment when they DIDNT include the CS frames with them, so now I'm out another 15-ish bucks (australian) to get the same functionality as the barby lupus rex SDCS.
It really has nothing to do with the kit. I did have one major problem with it, in that the very flimsy clip that holds the crotch plate on snaps very easily, so I had to cement it back on with extra thin cement.
Other than that, the kit is amazing and anyone who was on the fence about SD kits in the past should get one, but it just set me up for disappointment with every other SDCS kit not coming with the CS frame.

8:38 personally, the 2 modes give different feelings to me; the black eyes are just that, black, as if he's being controlled. but the other mode gives genuine emotion that talks more.

I have the SDCS RX-78-2 and the parts separation on the head is equally good. Only thing disappointing at the beam sabers (one big white piece) tbh.
The high grade with the SD head legit looks like it'd fit in Digimon. Neat.
It's like a digimon for gundams with all the Barbatos from sd,hg,re100,to mg Barbatos forms gotta catch them all!
I just made a few days ago and love it too. I have Barbatos Lupus (1/100 and 1/144) so buying an HG Lupus Rex was not exiting till I saw this. Now I have most of the Barbatos.
You should use your 3D print to make a over size barbatos head that fits on your hg or mg

Been almost a year now since i got my CS freedom gundam, ive been buying gunpla since! i've beening missing out on the fun but im glad i started collecting now during this time SD's are getting new life, i find the EX standard ones are only good when you put in the time and effort for extra detail, i'm really glad theyre not using open hollow parts for the CS line
I'm kind of torn on the CS frame. I snagged one for my Zaku and it looks fine, but I think I'm more partial to the standard SD dimensions. Then I think about it and recall my first few Gunpla were the BB-style SD's; the ones with the stubby arms and giant feet. I may be biased toward the cuter versions.
The RX-78 SDCS also comes with the CS Frame too.
There are 2 versions of the SDCS RX-78-2 released. One came with the CS frame, and one without it

Lol I know how you feel about the head size. Every time I use a Barbatos head on some mech in New Gundam Breaker I always put the 1/100 head on all 1/144 parts. It just looks better
If you like colour separation that rivals the sdcs and *cough* hg,I think that the mobile suit ensemble is for you! although some mobile suits are quite hard to come by because they are gachapons.

Teenage Barbatos Lupus Rex reminds me of how Godzilla Junior appearance in Godzilla VS Destoroyah.

That's right up there with the SDCS Char Zaku II on my list of kits I want! So fuckin' cool!
With now you have CS frame you also can put another SDCS model on it, like on Ground Gundam or Earthree Gundam. There is still more to come out so when you review SDCS model, please also include them on CS frame for better variation of them.
