sd kits are exactly what sucked me into gunpla. the chibi proportions make the kits so approachable to even non-gundam fans! I'm surprised there was no mention of gunpla-kun, although technically it is its own grade.

To be fair, Mazinger proper, especially the manga, was pretty depressing and violent itself. Just ask Lorelei, but early video games and such turning her into a straight-up villain obscures that.
