Crank also recognized he was fighting children, didn’t talk all high and mighty over them, and ultimately disliked that they had to get involved. Carta attacked and killed a member of their family, showed no regrets about killing a child and a member of their family, isn’t really that skillful and had the audacity to request a duel, not as equals, but from a place of superiority. The detail of the water dripping down the face of Barbatos, like if it was crying, is just incredible. The sounds of the metal clashing in the background too. So well done.
01:11 - 01:13 That’s so casually brutal it’s almost comical! Listen closely and watch the background snow behind Barbatos as he turns after executing the attack to face his next target. The way this show conveys its feelings through fights is amazing. The moment Barbatos came to massacre what's left of Carta's squad made me feel angry in a good way. You can feel the thirst for revenge and anger the way Mikazuki went wild with its fighting style. God, I love this series so much
I love the little poof of snow and red stain after that guy went flying. The cold & swift kills are my fav. More emotional when you get to think about how easily Mika kills.
Carta: Considering the setup times, we will wait 30 minutes. Mikazuki: Considering how pissed off I am with you killing Biscuit, I will wait 30 seconds.
Despite being more of a "massacre" than a fight,it still is a damn good one. Gjallarhorn has really crossed the line by killing one of Mika's good friend,Biscuit. So now,Mika has had enough of them(especially Carta). This is the first time where he fought by his own will instead of being ordered to do so,just shows how pissed he is. Plus, the battle theme is as godlike as ever, perfectly fits this fight. I also like the little detail of Barbatos "crying"(on 4:50)due to the melted ice on its eye. It's a cool little detail that while Mika may seem fine from the outside but from the inside, just like the others,he is grieving Biscuit's death as well and this fight really proves it even more. Man,this scene is so damn good.100/10
Let's face it this platoon of clowns deserved every stupid moment they had, from the island landing where they stood lined up to declare their arrival and intentions only for one of them to take heavy dmg to the head unit and then this display of 'intimidate' the enemy by standing OUTSIDE ur unit to bait them into ur little ritualistic duel...
She clearly NEVER been into a mobile suit battle for long. War in general is NEVER about fair and square and most people are not honorable. Even then it totally justify for Mika action. He's already a cold fighter but you pretty much get rekt for getting him emotional (Biscuit death). Also time was running out for them and you expect them to played her game by allowing the 30 minutes prep time??? I also appluse him for wanting to get rid of her for good since that is a common fault troupe in Gundam by allowing the enemy to lived only for it to hunt their arse in the future like Flit in Gundm AGE.
Well, she was in charge of the earth defense space fleet. Pirates and the such stay away from Earth. McGillis, Gaelio, and the such were the one's constantly fighting.
Note: carta i considered one of the weakest She rely on numbers rather than herself The fact that she only managed to destroy a mobile worker rather than a mobile suit Shes dead from the start
@@defalt2838 I mean they did hammer home that her position was relatively soft. The Outer Earth Orbit Regulatory Joint Fleet are basically a fleet of showboats who's only seen simulated combat and have never cut their teeth in real battle. The only opponents they'd face are pirates and pirates want soft targets and would never engage a fleet of battlships. So most of their training was basically ritual at this point.
She's the type of general that learned everything from books and got her position through family... I think Issues were an influential family in Gallarjhorn.. She never got to see real combat as she was just stuck in her outer orbit space station unlike mcgillis and gaelio..
I love that tiny little thudd we hear at 1:12 of that dudes body hitting the ground. And the little red spot we see in contrast to the snow really drives the point home here on just how savage (in a good way) mika was here.
well Carta's Graze Ritter didn't have a red cloth on its arm on Tarawa (the Island they were on) so she never had the intention to challenge anyone to a ""duel" on Tarawa and besides the fighting on Tarawa was a pure military operation not a useless attempt to fix Carta's bruised ego as was the case on the railway tracks.
Kind of funny that Carta was still grandstanding on dueling. When they atacked the small island they landed, proclaimed loudly who they are and one of Tekkadan MS blasts at them confusedly saying "It's ok to shoot right?" which makes Carta screech.
One very important rule to learn about Gundam Battles, and battles in general Since enemies will rarely have the courtesy of striking one at a time, *so why should you* ;)
Mikazuki is my favorite Gundam Pilot because he combines the rational thought process most people should have about combat and his raw offensive badassery
3:54 Damn. Her sad feeling is understandable. She saw them as children that should be kept away from war, but from the reaction they show that they have hatred and revenge in their heart.
Barbatos is just as brutal and efficient as the Wing Suits. I missed something demonic and scary like barbatos or WZ/Epyon troughout the whole 00 - series. Mika is great.
The way the pilot hit the ground and went splat just being nothing more than a faint patter like a rain drop really drives in the scale of these things lol
*Whiny Sympathizer fan base*: "What!? That's breaking the rules of war! That's dishonorable! It's... it's unfair!" *Me*: So, what are you saying, then? Death isn't fair?
Generally speaking, Gallahjorn pretty much caused a war, a secret war, against tekkadan in the first place, so everything in war is fair. Even when you try to fight fairly, but received a different outcome.
I love the idea of honorable duels in anime. However, since Crank's death, IBO makes it clear that in this universe, honor during war is a death sentence and brutality, though unfair, is a great way to go.
@@alifpaltasya3821 I believe that the most common thing that people use is that rustal and idiok where like o tekkadan is using some railgun weapon (that in further inspection it's not illegal I believe that chocolate man said that the flauros was in a gray zone as long as the weapon didn't get an upgrade) so yeah let's use the exact same weapon that we make illegal on civilian (the turbines) and then let's use it on tekkadan because our soldiers on Mars are completely useless
still getting goosebumps on Mikazuki, just pure Ideology and Bloodlust plus revenge on his buddy getting killed, not my personal favorite Gundam series but Mika is my favorite MS pilot ever imagine giving him an OP MS like Strike Freedom
It sounds cool on paper, but I don't think Mika would like Strike Freedom. That is definitely a ranged combat MS and Mika is not a ranged combat type of guy. Barbatos is perfect for him. Nah, if we wanna talk about guys who would do work in the SF, we gotta start with Amuro.
To me this fight stands out from other anime because the characters don’t stand around talking for 30 minutes. Mikazuki just goes straight for the jugular. Even an anime that claim to be more realistic they tend to have an Excessive amount of flourish. This fight is just quick and brutal and I find that to be refreshing.
yeap, the Barbatos's moves are brutal fits its name quite well :) Barbatos is the duke of Hell, ruling thirty legions of demons and has four kings as his companions to command his legions.
I haven't really given this show a chance. Obviously that was a mistake cuz holy shit this was amazing and hilarious! HE WHO STRIKES FIRST, MUTHAFUKKAAAAAAA
It starts off alright, but it does get a lot better throughout, and it's easy to keep up with the story, unlike a certain show beforehand *cough*G-Reco*cough*
striker0 Ugh G-Reco. I gave that show a chance but the dialogue was just too awkward. Idk if it was bad subtitles/translation or what, but as soon as Bellri said "Stop being pirates!" while launching randomly, I was done. Like seriously what?
as if her idea wasn't bad enough, she was accompanied by two geniuses who instead of being *inside* the giant robot providing cover decided to stand outside, completly open to ambushes or surprise attacks.
The Barbatos Gundam itself had a variety of weapons. A Mace that can shoot a little punch in the center, a cannon, a katana and a few upgrades from enemy scraps.
and in season 2 Barbatos (Now called Barbatos Lupus) will have one broadsword for his main weapon, and i guess later in the series he'll have two arm attachment guns,an assault rifle (not the same one he uses in season 1),2 mini maces (apparently) and a Cloud Strife-like Sword
I just LOVE the way Mikazuki uses Barbatos. Truly a beast of a Gundam. Wish they made something about Barbatos during calamity war, so we get to see how he was looking back then and who his pilot was.
That's why we need Calamity War prequel of Post Diaster timeline. Imagine 72 Gundam frames at their prime and original pilots. Where Gjalahorn wasn't corrupt and was actually noble to the cause. Mobile Armors Angels vs Devils The Legend of Agnika Kaireu Origin of Alaya-Vijanan system and its true form and not the faulty ones. Prime Barbatos!!!
She says she wants to fight fair and square when Mika attacked them right in front of them in a three on one and in the end it became a one v one, when you issue a challenge normally your prepared so that’s on her that Mika was just already ready to fight
So tragic how Merribit Stapleton is trying to protect their innocence and not let them see her get killed but because they were all child mercenaries their innocence was taken from them along time ago
This is one of the few animes where realism is actually high. People die heros or villains doesn't matter. Even this scene- if it were a movie or something else, there would be a long unnecessary dialogue between the two parties, which is just stupid when you are so full of anger. This anime gives me a lot of AOT vibes thanks to the high octane action, realism and intelligent story
I think thats one thing i really about IBO, it takes events and other actions seriously. The moment Tekkadan finished their jobs (both bringing Kudelia and escorting the Old man) they got recognize as a strong and fearsome group... however it also made Human Debris/Child Soldiers become far more common due to the whole group being 90% children or teens.
one thing i realy enjoy about the whole franchies is that for each series they make a new main pilot with a unique Gundam and abilitys. there are rarely big similarits. at least in the shows ive watched sofar and i didnt saw them all yet. but still. one pilot trys to just stop the fights by damaging the maschine, the next one just wants to fullfy his mission and another one goes straight to the kill to protect. yet all are considered great pilots and are very likeable for their own respective traits

Mika: 29 more than I need.
Carta: Weird flex but o-HOLY SHIT!
Technically around 3 minutes...?
Headcannon: the gundam frames have some lvl of ai from mobile armors and like a cursed weapon crave combat and death
So i think barbatos and mika were in sinc here and just wanted to finish there prey

Hear that little faint splatting sound and see something hit the snow back there? That’s whatever is left of the idiot with honor that was standing OUTSIDE his mecha who basically took the brunt of Barbatos hammer unprotected.
Yeah that’s gonna be a closed casket funeral. If they can scoop up enough of him to even justify a casket...
Omg I never noticed that before!
might as well get him an urn anyway
I kept rewinding that part when I first watched this scene.

The way this show conveys its feelings through fights is amazing. The moment Barbatos came to massacre what's left of Carta's squad made me feel angry in a good way. You can feel the thirst for revenge and anger the way Mikazuki went wild with its fighting style.
God, I love this series so much

不意打ちでもなんでもないけどね。

Yes yes yes
Sadly there is one dislike now. Probably from Carta Issue no less.
then mikazuki said fuck honor let's do this
4 now, cartas, her guards and gaelio?
5 dislikes 😭😭😭
I love the little poof of snow and red stain after that guy went flying. The cold & swift kills are my fav. More emotional when you get to think about how easily Mika kills.
Carta: I’ll give you 30 minutes to prepare Mika: how bout 3 seconds
Man,this scene is so damn good.100/10
I guess that *issue* has been delt with

Carta: "my name is Carta Issue!"
Mika: "i know you have one"
The first time I saw that scene I laughed more than should have when Mika and Barbatos sent the one guy flying.
When I saw that I was like "That's are Mikazuki"
I still laugh way more than I probably should
Let's face it this platoon of clowns deserved every stupid moment they had, from the island landing where they stood lined up to declare their arrival and intentions only for one of them to take heavy dmg to the head unit and then this display of 'intimidate' the enemy by standing OUTSIDE ur unit to bait them into ur little ritualistic duel...
Note: carta i considered one of the weakest
She rely on numbers rather than herself
The fact that she only managed to destroy a mobile worker rather than a mobile suit
Shes dead from the start
Or Kira in SEED and SEED Destiny.
I love that tiny little thudd we hear at 1:12 of that dudes body hitting the ground. And the little red spot we see in contrast to the snow really drives the point home here on just how savage (in a good way) mika was here.
Its kinda hilarious in a way and shows how spoiled and soft this rich kids are.

"Fair and Square."
I don't remember you saying that when sending that huge invasion force against them in the island.
well Carta's Graze Ritter didn't have a red cloth on its arm on Tarawa (the Island they were on) so she never had the intention to challenge anyone to a ""duel" on Tarawa and besides the fighting on Tarawa was a pure military operation not a useless attempt to fix Carta's bruised ego as was the case on the railway tracks.
Carta: 30 minutes, and when you are ready...
Mika: STUPID... I WONT LET YOU GET THE CHANCE.
Kind of funny that Carta was still grandstanding on dueling. When they atacked the small island they landed, proclaimed loudly who they are and one of Tekkadan MS blasts at them confusedly saying "It's ok to shoot right?" which makes Carta screech.
One very important rule to learn about Gundam Battles, and battles in general
Since enemies will rarely have the courtesy of striking one at a time, *so why should you* ;)
Damn... that's... GORY AND BRUTAL!!! Among all those Gundam series, this is what i like.
歴代主人公の中でも1番敵に回したくない
カミーユやジュドーの方が嫌かな。アイツらオカルトバリア張ったり、亡霊縛りしたり、スーパーロボットみたいに念で合体してくるから。
Mikazuki is my favorite Gundam Pilot because he combines the rational thought process most people should have about combat and his raw offensive badassery
3:54 Damn. Her sad feeling is understandable. She saw them as children that should be kept away from war, but from the reaction they show that they have hatred and revenge in their heart.
"Because this is revenge for Mr. Biscuit and everyone."
yup, i approve this.
Barbatos is just as brutal and efficient as the Wing Suits. I missed something demonic and scary like barbatos or WZ/Epyon troughout the whole 00 - series. Mika is great.
This my first Gundam series so are you talkin about Gundam 00 that has been recommended to me on Crunchyroll?
I like the grittiness of the oppressed characters like in IBO and 86-Eighty Six (different anime)
@@Rodrickson Wing sucks, 00 is awesome
Carta: "I want to fight fair and square!"
Also Carta: "I destroyed a retreating Mobile Worker that was absolutely no threat to me."
The way the pilot hit the ground and went splat just being nothing more than a faint patter like a rain drop really drives in the scale of these things lol
I love how Mika just says screw you to formality.
*Whiny Sympathizer fan base*: "What!? That's breaking the rules of war! That's dishonorable! It's... it's unfair!"
*Me*: So, what are you saying, then? Death isn't fair?
Generally speaking, Gallahjorn pretty much caused a war, a secret war, against tekkadan in the first place, so everything in war is fair. Even when you try to fight fairly, but received a different outcome.
I love the idea of honorable duels in anime. However, since Crank's death, IBO makes it clear that in this universe, honor during war is a death sentence and brutality, though unfair, is a great way to go.
When fighting for your life, THERE ARE NO RULES
And then people making excuses when mika died lmao gjallarhorn be like "so you want war here is our entire batalion" lmao
@@alifpaltasya3821 I believe that the most common thing that people use is that rustal and idiok where like o tekkadan is using some railgun weapon (that in further inspection it's not illegal I believe that chocolate man said that the flauros was in a gray zone as long as the weapon didn't get an upgrade) so yeah let's use the exact same weapon that we make illegal on civilian (the turbines) and then let's use it on tekkadan because our soldiers on Mars are completely useless
imagine being the gjallahorn soldier who thinks he's gonna stop the oncoming gundam with a sternly worded interrogation
Mikazuki be like: "Think you can win with silly talks?, let me charge at you while you are off-guard".
still getting goosebumps on Mikazuki, just pure Ideology and Bloodlust plus revenge on his buddy getting killed, not my personal favorite Gundam series but Mika is my favorite MS pilot ever imagine giving him an OP MS like Strike Freedom
This fight is just quick and brutal and I find that to be refreshing.
the animation quality is just mmmmmmmm perfect
yeap, the Barbatos's moves are brutal fits its name quite well :) Barbatos is the duke of Hell, ruling thirty legions of demons and has four kings as his companions to command his legions.
+berserkchip 5 minutes... 5 minutes of the first episode of g reco and I was cringing so bad. I turned that shit off so fast...
its gets better, Mikazuki is PISSED because his best friend got killed by Carta while protecting Orga.

I'm sorry, but that quiet plop sound after Mika first attacked was both satisfying and painful.
as if her idea wasn't bad enough, she was accompanied by two geniuses who instead of being *inside* the giant robot providing cover decided to stand outside, completly open to ambushes or surprise attacks.

This gundam has a buzz saw gravity hammer? that's dope!
Actually that's not the gundams real weapon , its just a replacement watch the show if you want to find out more.
Replacement or not, that weapon kicks ass.
I am pretty sure that was actually a maintenance tool he just ripped of the train tho😂

Orga: just 17 seconds.
このシーン、戦争しか知らない子供と戦争を知らない大人って構図で、正直スカッとしたよね。
Duels are for settling something. Mika doesn't want to settle, he want them gone.. permanently 😂😂
