Shall we watch Shrek the Third??
Animated Reactions: th-cam.com/play/PLQHhQlj8i5drw7xdLD3YvywSxyIFTQbcT.html
After how much you loved this one it's a gigantic YES definitely watch the 3rd one 🔥
Yes, yes, yes.
Yes, And the first Puss in Boots is awesome!!!!
Yes to Shrek 3!
As thorough as you are Jen, of course YES!😊
Puss In Boots being “Just like Zorro” was no coincidence. The same actor played both. I also loved the Alien, reference when Puss In Boots bursts through Shrek’s shirt. So many great Easter eggs in this movie.
Fun fact: the original Zorro story (1919) and film (1920) are now public domain (though the _name_ "Zorro" remains trademarked in the US because intellectual property rights are ... complicated). Nonetheless, Zorro was an inspiration for other popular characters like Superman and Batman.
The Scarlet Pimpernel (possibly the original masked superhero) is also public domain.
The Scarlet Pimpernel was 1905. So it may have helped inspire Zorro.
26:47 - "We got a white Bronco heading east into the forest. Requesting backup." It's also a reference to the O.J. Simpson police chase.
You missed the throw back to Beverley Hills Cop when they entered Far Far Away when Eddie Murphy drove into LA looking at the palm trees.
It’s crazy the amount of jokes that you don’t get as a kid that make you laugh your head off when you’re an adult.
Yeah heaps of them in this movie
Whenever I hear "Holding out for a Hero", I'm always reminded of Jennifer Saunders crooning it, while a giant gingerbread man stalks about.
I always think about a punked up Johnny 5.
I used to be a hero till all my family passed away!
@trinaq That was probably a spoiler for me , but I do recall the original Bonnie Tyler video it was very 80's😂 and she performed it for a David Copperfield special as well .
@@joeblankenship377 "Oscar, you will not escape! I am really pissed off!"
Racing to save Shaundi and Viola towards the end of Saint's Row The Third.
The “I Need a Hero” sequence is without a doubt one of the best scenes in animation history.
Jennifer Saunders crushed it in that key. I hope Bonnie Tyler liked it.
One of the best scenes in animated history? Try one of the best scenes in all of film history.
@@christianwise637 I cannot disagree with that statement 😊
That being said... as an 80's child, the only 'true' "I need a Hero" sequence is Jhonny Fives in Short Circuit 2...
Still waiting on that reaction some day.
@@joelwillems4081 I’m not sure about Bonnie Tyler, but the band were definitely risking the wrath of the Fairy Godmother, as despite asking for it in the key of C minor, the tune is being played here in the key of G minor.
It's funny how the castle guards were prepared to deal with a giant, rampaging gingerbread man. They always knew this day was coming!😂
RIP Mongo, a giant cookie that came to life like Frankenstein and screamed like Godzilla.😂
Also, I absolutely love Puss! My favorite animated character of all time!😻
"More heat less foam!!!" 🤣🤣🤣
Honestly, scalding hot milk would be a great deterrent against most besieging armies
The worst part is they used the 1998 Godzilla scream! They really had to acknowledge that piece of scrap, didn't they?
One day we're going to hear of Jen being arrested at a high class club, singing on a piano... after pulling a heist to rival the Great Canadian Maple Syrup Heist!
The scene where the starbucks customers run away from the store to another starbucks just across the street lol
A rare case of the sequel being even better than the original. The jokes always make me laugh, no matter how many times I've seen it.
One of the VERY few exceptions where the sequel is just as good if not better than the original. Definitely a classic
Somehow they managed to pull it off with Puss In Boots: The Last Wish, too. Definitely a better film than the first movie.
yeah it's one of the very few sequels that are better than the original
Just FYI, "All By Myself" was actually first written & performed by Eric Carmen back in the 1970s 🙂.
"finally a good use for your mouth" cracks me up every time 😂
Jennifer Saunders (Fairy Godmother) KILLED IT singing "I Need A Hero"! I remember this movie was how I was first introduced to the song and I absolutely loved it! 💜 💚
I feel like an old fogey, but I definitely remember the Bonnie Tyler version first, including the ridiculous music video (her "Total Eclipse of the Heart"/"Turn Around" music video is even more unhinged) with the mysterious man in white saving her. But, this cover is definitely a great tribute and one of the best parts of this movie.

soundtrack
@@TheYakusokuBoth great songs written by Jim Steinman who wrote a lot of Meat Loaf's hits.
Jen knows her stuff so I really shouldn't be surprised by now, but I always get a warm glow when she gets references like the one to Shirley Bassey. Despite her young youngness, there isn't much she needs explained to her, unlike a lot of reactors.
Bob Barker treatment joke: Bob Barker from "The Price is Right" always reminded people to "help control the pet population ... have your pets spayed or neutered."
@jenmurrayxo , the 'White Bronce' actually alludes to the car chase of OJ Simpson, is his 80s white Bronce. The air view, the call out.
😅
My daughter still says this is the best movie ever made (she’s in her 20s now). 😀
She's right
I saw this in the cinemas and it was visually grand, especially the giant gingerbread man in the finale. The "Knights" sequence had me laughing loudest, I love the use of ground pepper and catnip.
Wow, Jen, you look so darned cute with your cartoon buddies in the thumb! And you're doing that Murray Manuever I like!
I cannot just press like anymore. Subscribing. U are a wonderful reactor. Thank you. Your Star Trek reactions are wondeful. im giddy for every sunday
Happy to have you here ☺️

“Give him the Bob Barker treatment.” 😹😹😹😹
Another fantastic reaction Jen. It’s always nice to catch a premiere when I can and you will always be a princess to us Jen 👸.
Thanks for being there D! ☺️👍

The timing of this being posted is good. Apparently the release date for "Shrek 5" has just been set for July 1, 2026.
perfect timing
35:36 "Oh my god! Is it a little _baby?!_ Get out!"
Remember what he said, in his first scene, about Dragon being unusually _moody._ Turns out, she was _pregnant._
Along with Gremlins (my absolute favorite movie of all time) this is one of the movies from my childhood that I've seen the most in my life. As well as the first SpongeBob SquarePants Movie, the live-action Scooby-Doo 2: Monsters Unleashed Gremlins 2, Jim Carrey's Grinch, and Over the Hedge. 💚
Check out my Gremlins video if u missed it 👍
@jenmurrayxo That's actually how I found your channel. *purple heart.* Will definitely rewatch it, though.
I remember shortly before asking my wife to marry me she did the same thing with writing her first name, middle name and my last name. LOL
OMG. - you need to do more comedies! I laugh my butt off with you on this movie ….. just like I did with IT crowd….. You laugh makes me laugh (with you 😂)
This comedy roast from Puss In Boots to Donkey....
Donkey drinks the Happily Ever After potion-
Shrek: How do ya feel?
Donkey: I don't....feel any different. I look any different?
Puss In Boots: You still look like an ass to me.
Donkey gives Puss a "Boy, shut up" look-
Seeing Shrek in human mode for the 1st time totally blew my mind. 🤣
"you can't have number 2 without number 1".
My inner child is howling with laughter.
The song that the trumpeter is playing is the theme song to Hawaii 5-0

I love how in the original puss in boots story he was taking down an Ogre and in this movie he helps one
No 1 was groundbreaking - but this was better in so many ways.
Not a huge Shrek fan so I was on the fence about this one, but Jen is generally a hoot so I clicked.
Very glad I did, Jen and her Serious Girl Spectacles are looking especially fetching this day. 😻
I actually really love shrek 2 so much because I feel interested into thw franchise from Dreamworks and it made me feel like seeing other Dreamworks movies like Kung-Fu Panda again it was fun. Overall Shrek 2 and the first one are really great to me as I watched it before growing up.
Just when you think Jen can't get any more beautiful out come the bare shoulders. If I lived in the same country, was younger, better looking, wealthy and not such a boring homebody I would definitely consider getting over my fear of talking to pretty ladies to say hi. Then promptly go and hide.
Well written! It got a laugh out of me.
@@kevinlewallen4778 Making people laugh or smile is a good way to live for me.
Looking extra cute today Jen!
Shrek 2 is a great sequel that surpasses the first for me. For more of Antonio Banderas as a dashing swashbuckler - Mask of Zorro and Legend of Zorro 😉
Mask of Zorro is on my channel! 👍
Follow those with "Zorro, the Gay Blade" ( yes it's a comedy ).
@@treetopjones737 Yes! George Hamilton is hilarious
The Far Far Away Idol is a great short
So Jen, I'm assuming that's really your fireplace and not some fake backdrop. So is this your house, and not an apartment? I assume it is. Well, if it is, it looks stunning, and I'd love to see more.
Jen, this is a great film. Better than the first, in everything from the humor to the music. My favorite parts were when the trumpeter broke rank and played the Hawaii Five-O theme. Also, I liked the Cops scene when they were chasing Shrek, Donkey and Puss. 😂 If you want to see another great film, I recommend "My Best Friend's Wedding" a great 1997 drama. Rupert Everett (Prince Charming) and Cameron Diaz (Fiona) co stars with Julia Roberts and Dermot Mulroney. A great film. Also, Rupert Everett plays a great antagonist In the 1999 Disney live action film, "Inspector Gadget" Inspired by the 80s cartoon series. Everett plays Dr. Claw. Matthew Broderick plays Inspector Gadget. I recommend the film. You should definitely watch Shrek 3. It is well worth the watch. Great review Jen!
I never really cared for the Inspector Gadget movie, it strayed too much from the cartoon.
Best sequel anybody could ever ask for, it even exceeded the success of the 1st movie with how good it is
DONKEY! 😂
That bartender in the Poison Apple Tavern is a spot on representation of Larry King
That was him providing the voice
To this day I'm still curious what happened to Dragon during the happily ever after effects lol
One of those rare sequels that's much much better than the already excellent original. The comedy in this film is outstanding, it's like wall-to-wall gags from start to finish, you'll definitely need to watch it again to catch all of them. Plus, it's got some great character development and drama, introduces some great new characters, has an amazing villain, and features one of the best third act finales in all of cinematic history. Honestly, what's not to love?
I'd definitely recommend checking out the rest of the films, admittedly neither Shrek 3 or 4 come close to matching the first two films, but they definitely have their moments. The Puss in Boots films are also definitely worth watching, especially the second one which is a modern animated masterpiece and very much on par with Shrek 2 quality-wise
Hey Hey there Jen Murray. Believe it or not, I only watched this one only 1 time. Antonio Banderas cracked me up as Puss... In Boots. ❤Love your reaction as always. Have a good evening.
If you missed it, Shrek flipping through Fiona's diary and seeing "Mrs. Fiona Charming" written on every single page is a homage to "The Shining".
This is better than the first IMO. I need a Hero bit is legendary. Love your reaction Jen!
HAHA the bird drops a deuce on his shoulder. HAHA cinematic genius . HAHA
30:11 That's what she said.
Puss In Boots was an instant hit as a character and really deserved a spinoff. The Zorro reference was quite deliberate. Antonio Banderas played him in The Mask of Zorro (1998).
36:00 - CORRECT! YOU CAN'T HAVE A NUMBER TWO WITHOUT A NUMBER ONE - However, you can have a number one without a number two. Wise words my mother taught me.
2:20 - So, "Parcheesi" (derived from "Pachisi") is a board game where multiple players race their tokens one lap around a prescribed track on the gameboard to win. Various modern board games like "Sorry!" or "Trouble" (aka. Frustration or Kimble) are further derived from it. It can be broadly considered a "cross and circle" type game, named for having a single loop circling the board, with (typically four) additional paths connecting the outer loop to a single point in the center.
27:40 - it's (intentionally?) ambiguous whether or not the King gave Fiona the love potion, but IIRC, upon close inspection he put the potion into the cup on his right (left of scene), which means it was the cup on the right when he put it on the balcony window -- which was the same cup he grabbed claiming "that one's mine".
Someday, I will repay you. Unless, of course, I can't find you or if I forget.
Quite possibly my favorite line from any movie ever.
I also like how Jen imited Puss's wheeze when he was coughing up the hairball. *wink*.
Its easy to underestimate how badass Pinocchio and the Gingerbread Man are in this series. Puss N' Boots did get his own movie too.
Puss hocking up a hairball is so funny to me...
That would have been quite the day at the studio
This was the funniest of the Shrek movies, from here on the franchise takes a significant dip. Thank you for your reaction!
Fiona's Spinning Bird Kick was flawless
I'd love to see you singing on top of a grand piano too Jen!! I'm thinking Michelle Pfeiffer style in the Fabulous Baker boys here. 😊
Rupert Everett also plays in the movie St Trinians. an absolute gem of a movie.
Such a wonderful fun reaction this Jen is a delight in this one and had the best time 🙂the introduction to puss in boots is jentastic those kitty eyes 😺 Jen's the wolf's wonder and her reactions likewise 🔥💙🔥💙
"Wreck It Ralph" has similar themes to "Shrek" and is tons of fun.
These films are just freakin cute. All around good time in all of them.
Jen i luv the beautiful princess look in the thumbnail! Great reaction! I luv the Shrek movies and this one is just as funny as the first! Looking forward to Shrek the third! Puss n boots would be great also! Donkey is still killing it in these movies! Donkey will always be a noble steed and now he's also a dad! Haha lol🐴🦎 Thanks for sharing Jen ❤️💛
Great reaction Jen. I love this movie...so funny. You are so adorable...your laugh gives me life.
Special mention for the thumbnail its jensational if this doesnt deserve a million likes nothing does 🔥🔥🔥
I couldn’t agree more. Jen is looking very lovely as always and all her thumbnails are fantastic.
Agreed Ian. Great minds think alike, I just gushed about the thumb in my own comment.
We're going to get to that million Ian. Oh, we'll get there all right! 😊
Exellent series. the mix of fairytales is amazing
Sorry Jen i still ❤ you. Just dealing with doctors & medication & lack of it.
Makes me want to move to Canada 😊
The laughs... OMG!
I forgot how good this was.
Legit, best sequel ever!
Shrek is the best!!!!!!!!!!!👋👋✌✌👏👏
Always was
Smothered in chocolate and deep fried sure sounds delicious to me right up now.
The Jennifer Saunders cover of "I Need a Hero" has the same relationship with the Bonnie Tyler version as Shrek 1 does with Shrek 2; the original is a classic but the sequel surpasses it in almost every way.
Hey Princess Jen!
Wow, may I say, you look exquisite, although I will have to remove 2 points due to you being a new kids in the block girl when you were younger!, ahhahaha! 😂😂
And no, I don't know the words to many of their songs!.... 😳🤭🤭😂😂😂
Love the Shrek movies.
I definitely think the first two are the best.
The next is OK although I didn't go too much on it, still worth watching though.
I hope the new one will be as good, if not better, than the first two.
A great reaction as always.
Have a wonderful day, take care! ❤
i recommend watching the karate kid franchise, cobra kai and other pixar films and also twister.
Such a great movie. I knew Jen would love the kitty!
Love the first two Shrek movies! I never got around to watching the third one though. Kids were out of their Shrek Phase LOL
Such a brilliant film - can't believe you hadn't seen it!
Another classic Eddie Murphy movie I'd highly recommend is "Harlem Nights" with Richard Pryor, Redd Fox, and Della Reese from 1989
Jen, you’re the absolute cutest hahaha 😂🥰🫶🏼
You should see Flashdance, Jen. You would appreciate the message.
What a feeling.
I think that you should react to the other Shrek films, Jen, including Puss in Boots as well. 😊
Hi Adam 👋 are you sure you saw Tom in the chat? Millions without power were he lives.
I was in chat 20 mins beforehand and never saw tom even once 🤷@@e.d.2096
@@Ian-xx1xb Thanks Ian. I'm worried, bad flooding as well, in his area.
@@e.d.2096 I'm sure everything is ok might just be a case of the power is out rn 🤞
@@e.d.2096 I saw his name in the chat about a quarter of an hour before the live stream started, but not after that so, you might be right, Eric. I hope that he's okay.
Lookin' pretty hot, Jen. As happens in great sequels, this builds on the first movie. Plenty of callbacks and new frenemies. Generous supply of stars, killin' and chillin'. Yes, you do need to see more. Eric Carmen, All by myself, 70s. Bonnie Tyler, Holding out for a hero, 80s. FABULOUS BAKER BOYS, 80s, piano singing scene. Michelle Pfeiffer, Beau, and Jeff Bridges. By all means, rewatch. Loads of eggs.
3 and 4 are both good imo so u should continue with those as well even thugh the fact you will get people telling you not to
If and when you watch the original Puss And Boots movie Jen, you should consider and hopefully will review and react to its follow up/sequel Puss And Boots The Last wish. I not totally certain but I think most people tend to like the second Puss And Boots movie better than the first.
Ultimately the entire Shrek/Puss And Boots franchise is great but like any franchise some movies from the franchise are liked better than others. I’m glad you Jen are enjoying the Shrek/Puss And Boots franchise. Continue to love and enjoy your channel and the beautiful woman and person that you are inside and out.
Hey Jen, love your reactions videos, but to answer your question, skip 3 and go to 4. Three was not good but four and good.
At minute 29:21 the stage setting inspired by Mount Olympus, in Fantasia (1940).
Jen Murray, you should totally watch the TV show Once Upon A Time.
Yes to bothe Shrek 3 and Puss in Boots!
I always wondered what did donkey wife turn into when he drank the potion
Pegasus.
Pussy and Boots 2 is a MASTERPIECE.......an almost perfect movie !
Well done lovely Jen👍🏽🙌🏽😂❤️
Excellent reaction yes I know Puss in boots is the best addition to the movie series. He’s excellent. His movies are good too, but I almost forgot about Shrek. I’ve seen Puss in boots movies that I forgot his best friend was Shrek and donkey. I like that. I miss that I just heard that they’re going to do more Shrek movies do more movies and a donkey movie two can’t wait, thanks for the fun until next time
It's been a while since the last time I saw this... 😊
