    I have one of these 33 Remington that belonged to my grandfather who died before I was born. ( I'm 77 years old) This rifle is extremely accurate. The sights were modified by my grand dad by filing the bead on the front down to a knife blade and filing the rear sight U down to a V thus allowing for fine sighting. My father said gram pa use to be able to strike matches with the gun. Like the rest of you guys I wouldn't take anything for this rifle. Nice video.😊😊

Mine still fires accurately no miss fires and the stock is in great condition barrel bluing is great condition also. For me this rifle is priceless.

    My grandfather had one of these. He got it in the 30's and he paid, if I remember correctly, about $6 for it. I have this gun now. A guy here had his own shop and he restored it for me. He made a firing pin for it and re-blued the barrel and refinished the stock. "She's" pretty again. The bolt action is worn and there's "spray" with it's fired. Wish I could have that fixed as well. My grandfather used to strike safety matches at 50 paces with it. It's the only thing I got after he and Dad passed.

    I've got a 33 Remington exactly like that with one exception . Mine has a magazine in the butt stock that holds ten rounds. It has a little button on the right side of the butt stock you push once each time you drop a shell into it and when you tip the gun muzzle up and push the little button it drops one shell at a time out in your hand for loading. A very usable and unique feature for any single shot rifle and I've never seen it on any other rifle, Model 33 or otherwise . It looks to be as it came from the factory the way it is. I can't imagine it ever being added on by anyone.

    I was just given my grandfather's 33 Remington, exact model. I've never owned a firearm. It appears to be in good condition and usable, however I'd love any advice or even a video showing how to clean it, care for it, take it apart if necessary to clean and put back together properly and safely for use. Also, any particular rounds to buy for accuracy? 22 hollow point copper heads or something else?

    I inherited my grandfathers model 33 when I was 10, (1979). I’d like to restore ours. Grandpa bought his in 1920’s (Ira T. 1889-1982)
    Ours has been used so much the bolts warn out. Gasses blow back into your face. I’m going to try and find a goo gunsmith, see if we can repair.

      Thanks for the very informative video- I was at local gun shop found model 33 that clerk said been there for while - This rifle little rough all original condition & appear to have been on many trips a field -wish it could talk - I told the young clerk who like many others had opinion that's just an old antique that this fine old rifle has found good home as I'm an old school squirrel hunter that me & my Tennessee Brindle Cur hound was going to put this old timer back to work putting meat on table- - Did have one question though, Can't seem to find an serial number Where is yours located?

    Buddy of mine has a Remington 33, says its misfiring. try all kinds of different ammo, still the same. not sure if its the firing pin or what is it.
    would you happen to know how to disassemble the rifle and if so, show the part on the firing pin and how to replace it if so. thank you!

    • @kysteaddiy317
      @kysteaddiy317  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I bet the firing pin is broken. Mine broke years ago. Could not find one to buy so made one from a small drill bit. Has not missed a beat since.

    • @kysteaddiy317
      @kysteaddiy317  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Small roll pin captures the firing pin. So a slight notch needs to be made on one side of the"new" firing pin. Hopefully he can get lucky and find one to order.. if not it can be fixed for sure.
