"Said I never had much use for one. Never said I didn't know how to use it." My favorite Western movie of al time, and my favorite quote. Thanks so much for this demonstration.
Lol, yes great line, Cheers man
@@markandsamafterwork I expected the cavalry to ride in after your shooting and then I was looking for the Bushman to surround you and them to protect you. Amazing shooting sir. Should have used a wooden bucket though...
He did say that it was what he had so...but yes I bet a wood bucket had been fun to see
nice video nice rifle nice shot, a bright colored bucket filled with ashes from the fireplace works great, a puff of ashes confirms hit
Lol, Cheers
Okay... so, and I'm sure that you've been asked this already, but how many carrots are you two eating daily? And I, for science purposes only, mean exactly how many carrots. Also, the sheep are some of my favorite characters in this show. Love you guys
Lol, thanks Luey, Cheers man
Carrots are a real thing. The night before I did my final rifle qualification for the US Army Infantry school at Ft Benning back in the early 90s, my Senior Drill Sergeant said he had a secret weapon to help us shoot Expert. He opened up a burlap sack filled with carrots and told us to eat two of them
@@bluecordprecisiongrading2504 that's... real?! I mean, I do eat my carrots but I had no idea. That's awesome, just two huh. As the old saying goes "two carrots a day, keeps the..." Nvm... I'll just keep eating carrots.
@@lueytorres5511 carrots are proven to increases visual acuity 😀
@@bluecordprecisiongrading2504 same whit black current and red current i belive it's called+ everything else it's helps your body whit
As always your such an amazing shot even standing and from that range. I'm blown away. All I can say is BRILLIANT and thanks to you both for sharing
Thanks Toby, Cheers man
A big part of this couples lives is putting bullets through things at distance, or smacking steel at long range. And they are good at it, amazing.
Lol, yes lots of practice, Cheers
You just continue to amaze. I can’t imagine holding my Sharps still enough standing to get anywhere near the bucket.😢
yea the 1874 quigley is veey heavy.. lol i csn hold it up steady but im pretty strong. my gf though haha barely could.. i have a video of her shooting it like a shotgun haha
Thanks Paul, Cheers man
Amazing work, I'd bloody struggle to hit that using a scope let alone open sights.
Lol, Cheers Ben
You two show what we, lesser mortals, can aim to achieve 😂
Lol, Cheers man, thanks
How nice to have a great companion.
Yep, Cheers
That’s a heck of a shot on sticks with open sights. To do it off hand is phenomenal!
Cheers Man, thanks
Beautiful work !!! These are the best times ! Shooting at targets with nothing but hope to assist your skill in getting your bullet on target :). Well done !
Thanks man, Cheers
Well then! I'm lucky to hit something that size off-hand unsupported at 100 yards! Most people have no idea how small things become at distance! Great job you two!
Yep, thanks Chris
As l got older, the targets seem to get a little.....hazy. I've even put optics on my lever actions, you know, so l can actually hit something.
@@jakeroberts7435 I put a scope on my 30-30 because I thought what if 200 or 300 and then realized, I have rifles for all that and plus the scope removed all the charm of "Cowboy"
@@chrislang5659 I've got scopes on my 30/30 and 45/70 but last month l purchased a Rossi lever action carbine in .45 and it will remain scopeless. Love that gun, its sweet
@@jakeroberts7435 my 30-30 is also a Rossi Rio Grande. For the price it is a very good rifle, fun to shoot!
That's a very accurate rifle for open site shooting, and what makes it more accurate is handled by a professional.
Cheers Man
There's a hole in the bucket dear Lyzza Dear Lyzza...
Awesome stuff!! Thank for sharing
Lol, Cheers
Beautiful shooting as always. Anyone that can do these type of shots that are parabolic and basically artillery are amazing. Doing it with irons is extraordinary.
Cheers
Nie przestajecie mnie zadziwiać... Brawo Mark 👏👍
Pozdrawiam serdecznie.
Thank you Adam
@@markandsamafterwork 🍺
That's bloody great . I sold mine due to welders eyes . Black powder still rocks . Cheers 🍻
Cheers Man
You are a incredibly good marksman as always awesome job!!!
Thanks Will
A fellow shooter had 45/70 sharps style rifle at the 200 yard range. I got to take about 10 shots with it. he was running red dot (13 grns?) powder with a 405 slug. I was shooting a 18" plate at 200 yards and was shocked how easy it was to connect with the peep sight. No wonder so many buffalo were killed with this rifle.
Cheers
Awesome shooting! You and Sam make a wonderful team.
Thanks Brian
Nice work Mark. That's one rifle I don't have yet. But it's on my bucket list.
Lol, Cheers man
Unreal. That movie was a reason why I got into shooting.
Thanks Jordan
Sam! One bucket high one and a half buckets left!! You guys are the greatest
Cheers Garry, thanks
Unbelievably impressive!
Cheers Man
Really cool idea! Well done. Its a shame there was no water in the bucket???!
Lol, cheers
Y'all never cease to amaze me on some of the shots you make hands down awesome great shot and get eyes calling the impact's with no magnification
thanks Allen, Cheers Man
This could have been a episode of, “Myth Busters”, back in the day.
Bravo you two.
Lol, Cheers George
You mean to prove the Quigly shot isn’t possible.
You my friend are a very talented man, I love how you and Sam are such a great team. You inspire this 63 year old man. Thanks and God Bless you both
Thanks Nuna, Cheers
No Hollywood; just getting it done. Impressive!
Thanks Man, Cheers
Great shot. Love that movie and that is my favorite part. Well that and the end. My arm was getting tired watching you hold that heavy rifle up. Awesome work and vision to get in that with irons/peep.
Cheers Matt, thanks
I'm astounded at a standing shot from that range on a bucket. Good shooting.
Thanks Man
OMG!!..😳
So MUCH RESPECT!!..🏆
Cheers man, thanks
❤️⚘️ of hand shots are truly a masterpeice
Cheers man, thanks
One of my favorite movies. Much respect for your skill. Roy would be proud.
Thanks Rob, Cheers
It was Mathew 😀
Great video. Very entertaining. Most impressive. your shooting abilities are amazing. I was watching the end of the barrel you had to be timing when the sights were coming to the target. My grandfather use to call it wobbling on.
Thanks Man, but well, no, moving around to see target and try to focus on bucket, explained in video, but I knew someone would ask, lol, Cheers
450 yards standing off hand with a rifle that weight and hitting a bucket that size is good shooting. Thanks for the show from Idaho.
Thanks Rob, thanks man
@@markandsamafterwork I was a competitive shooter in my late teens and early 20's during the mid 1970's so I appreciate what you do. Now that I'm retired I still want to get back to shoot long range competitive courses but I also want try my at Tactical 3 gun matches and Cowboys Action 3 gun matches. Now if I can get my tired old body to cooperate.
Great work by the spotter calling target form corrections. Great video. Subbed.
Thanks man, cheers
You are an amazing shot Mark. Congratulations !!
Thanks Javier
Glad to see an honest video, mighty hard to hit a bucket at that distance standing unsupported!
Thanks Dale, Cheers Man
Love from England you 2 . Brilliant .

Love your work!

Kind regards Mark & Sam…
Well done on another great video
I have a Whitney rolling block in 45-70 & that’s heavy enough. Thanks for showing!
Awesome, Cheers
Loved that , would really love to see you take us through a few military rifles i.e.. LE .303 , FN SLR , ect , thanks again guys .
Thanks Matt, we have shown the .303, but not legal for auto or semi auto here bud, Cheers
Nice shooting. Especially from standing.
Thanks Brian
Truly amazing. You two folks are quite a team and inspiration. I just received my Shiloh Sharps 45-70 with a 34 inch barrel after a year and nearly five months wait. I cannot wait to test fire it and our nearby range. Thanks for sharing these wonderful videos.
Awesome, Cheers
Please give estimate cost of your rifle, just to know if I could save up to buy. I am a a disabled hunter that muzzeloads. Thank you sir.
I am 60 today.
Absolutely great shooting with the old technology. That bucket had to be a speck at that distance.
Yep, Cheers
You two are amazing! I appreciate your videos!
thanks man
Good shot Mark!
Very Good Sir!
Thanks Chris
That was a lot more impressive than the movie
Thanks Mark, Cheers
Love your videos, amazed at every one I watch. I use to shoot alot. Not at your distances. It's got to be a great feeling to hit at those ranges. I live in Alabama, not many places to even see that far. Keep up the great work.
Thanks Reggie, Cheers Man
Wow, couldn’t even see the bucket at that distance let alone hit it! Congrats on a great show!
Thanks Paul
That looks like fun. I bought two 1874 receiver kits several years ago. I built one up in 50-90 and am in the process of building the second one up in either 40-70 BN or 40-82. A 14 lb rifle is hard to hold steady after only a few shots. Great job...
Awesome, and thanks John, Cheers
Awesome shooting 😊👍🏻👍🏻
cheers Man, thanks
This is now my favorite video you have done. I love the small calliber ones with . 22's but this was just loads of fun to watch!
Awesome, Cheers
Your videos are always entertaining and informative. Thank you for sharing.
thanks West, Cheers
Great shooting Mark, great video, beautiful rifle. You two never disappoint.
Thanks Tim, Cheers
So bloody awesome! Gotta love it.
Thanks Man
Well, I gotta tell ya, you had me at .45-70. And that was a truly fantastic shot, just pleasurable to watch. Didn't realize a .45-70 could go that far, but I haven't shot my little 1895 Marlin enough to find out. Good long range shooting is always a joy...
Cheers Man
Smokeless powder. Bit more power than Black.
Good shooting sir! I commented on your 30-30 video that you were better than Quigley and now I see that you have done this too! Awesome job.
Thanks Kyle, Cheers
Great vid mate .
Long way to see a bucket lol.
One of my favorite shots (only 1 a comp) is a fundraiser for Kids with cancer, that a couple in our WARA association run at major comps.
1 round, after our last detail at the longest range. (usually 900 yards) Its placed on the backstop mound, so usually 25-30 or so yards further than sight set for last range, gotta calculate that in .
We shoot at a chalk powder filled garden gnome. 6 inch by 3 inch.
Finish our detail, collect our gear, then move to the end of the mound, lay down and fire 1 round at gnomey. lol.
With iron peeps its pretty much impossible to see the gnome, so have to find it with the spotting scope, decide what to use as reference, then let her go.
Ive clipped it on the bottom 🤔i think(took the dirt out from under and tipped it over) but didnt break the target, so a miss lol.
That gnominator patch is a prize worth shooting for.
A bit of fun at the end of a weekend comp for a good cause :)
Cheers
Very cool. My dad has always wanted on of those rifles. I love the sight technology.
Awesome, Cheers
Great shooting Mark !! Those Sharps are a loads of fun to shoot. I have a couple of them also. Cheers!!
Agreed, thanks Loren, cheers mate.

Hey from Knob Creek Road Kentucky. Good to see a well reasoned, true to life, version of "The Quigley Bucket Shot". Your estimation(s) of the distance with the Marston Homestead in the background of the foreground bucket seemingly isn't considered in most if not all estimations of distance in reference to "the shot". Most distances estimated seemingly are based on a time measurement. Be that total time of the scene, time of the rider or time of the actions of Tom Selleck. Admittedly, this technique hasn't ever occurred to myself and I will be referencing it from here on. On a side note , Brownells is now in possession of Tom Selleck's Quigley rifle. Hate for you to go through the trouble to find Tom Selleck so you can borrow it when he's no longer the keeper of it. Great shooting as always and great job with the distance.
Cheers Jason, glad you liked Man, thanks
Unbelievable! 450 yards offhand WOW!, great shooting
Cheers man
Another great video! Difficult naked eye spotting!
CHange title to incorporate "Quigley" and "Tom Selleck"?
Thanks Man, Cheers
Bloody nice shooting mate, impressive with those sites and heavy rifle hand held.

Cool video guys, that looked like fun. Cheers!
Sort of, lol, glad you liked, Cheers
So... I've shot my .45-90 Sharps '74 made by (Shiloh Sharps of Montana) a fair amount at 961 yards. The target I use is a 44" steel gong. It's my belief that these slow-moving cartridges work much better with black powder since the velocity is more consistent. Keep up the vids, please. ;)
Yes, even a 45-120 would be smoother to shoot with BP, Cheers
I'm surprised that people are still trying that shot
And I'm impressed that people make it
Cheers Man
Great marksmanship

@@markandsamafterwork standing unsupported is the bitch...
I do the aim high and release the shot when the aim is correct as the POA aligns with the target.

Great shooting. My 'bucket' would need to be a 20 000 litre water tank ... and even then.
