    What a shame to see a driver of Alboreto's caliber suffer the indignation of Pre-qualifying... Former winner at that very track. A great driver. you could see him pushing towards the end of the vid. Those larousses and Fondmetal cars sounded great too. Stellar content as always, Rob. Thanks.

    Much better than today's F1

    Those Footwork-Mugen Hondas were beautiful. Poor Roberto Moreno. The year before he was in the Benetton and now he's lumbering around in the Andrea Moda...

    A rare hotlap from an Andrea Moda at 3:05
    He is pushing. On stats F1 he made +24 seconds from Senna's pole laptime

    I was there and I can tell you tha Larousse Lamborghini V12 sounded fuckin amazing! What a screamer! I'm a Montrealer!

    The Doppler Effect experienced from this mic position makes the engines sound like they are holding steady revs while they are still accelerating.

    Amazing footage, and what beautiful sounds! What on earth was going on with that Andrea Moda gearbox? it like the rears were locking and the car was stalling coming into T8. In a team of competent hands I'm sure the car could have been decent, but something sounds seriously wrong.

      Starting with the engines, which were delivered to him old, with the beginnings of seizing if not already half seized.
      Look at the historical reconstruction of the team's history, you can find it on TH-cam and it is very interesting

    Those V12 Lamborghini engines were designed by none other than Mauro Forghieri. They were known for the sound and smooth power delivery, unfortunately they never were installed in a decent chassis.

    When even the worst cars sounded incredible! That Lambo V12 sounds amazing, always loved the beautiful Footwork Arrows and of course you can tell by the noise how utterly terrible that Andrea Moda is to drive.

    The 90's had the best sounding F1 engines of all time!

    Great videos as usual! Just out of curiosity, when was the last race you attended trackside?

      I went from 1982-1994, and 1997. There was no race in 1987. I was able to get VERY close to the track in 1989 and 1990.

    That Andrea Moda looks painfully slow even from this camera...

    Outstanding sound quality! It’s sad that McLaren didn’t chose Lamborghini for 1994. It would have done a much better job than the Peugeot.
    Again, money was the problem with Peugeot offering free engines to McLaren.
    If only we could have NA V12s again!

      Don't think so... they were overweight, thirsty and underpowered. As well as questionable reliability.

    I somehow ended up in the pits when this was going on, sitting on the pitwall trying to get a picture.

    I would say manual gearbox, by how it sounds on downshift.

    Andrea moda really suffered after qualifying the previous round in Monaco and although prequalifying was removed this didn’t really help matters

    Learning every day. Was under impression that Lambo did not supplied f1 engines 🤔

    • @ElectoneGuy
      @ElectoneGuy ปีที่แล้ว +3

      They supplied a variety of teams between 1989 and 1993.

    • @senorsoupe
      @senorsoupe ปีที่แล้ว +2

      They definitely did, legend has it that there is still oil on the tracks where they raced and inevitably went Kablammo. You may be thinking of their failed deal to supply engines to McLaren for 1994, McLaren decided to do a deal to run equally unreliable Peugeot engines instead.

    Thank goodness that when the Andrea Modas passed by there were no people walking around because then the fast motion would have been very evident.
    PS: You got the bad joke, right?

    Si Mc Laren avait suivi l'avis de Senna, ce moteur aurait été champion du monde. C'était un très bon moteur monté dans de mauvais châssis !
