    Great stuff, Barry.
    As a brazilian F1 fan since early 1972, due to Emerson Fittipaldi, it is fantastic to watch again Piquet, shinning after the 1981 and 1983 F1 world titles, and Senna in his first F1 year. I was able to see these guys in Rio, my home town, during the F1 Brazilian GP in the 80`s. From the grand stands the 1982 F1 GP was fantastic. The battle between Piquet, Villeneuve and Rosberg it is something that I will never forget. Unfortunatly, Jacarepagua, the race track where the F1 Brazilian GP took place, doesn`t exist any more. Thank you very much and congratulations for the excelent footage.

    Those were the turbo charged days of F1 and I remember them so well as they bring me back ro my early twenties in the 1980"s, a time I wish I could go back to. We were all frightened of the A.I.D.S. scare at the time and Michael Jacksons Thriller album was rampant on the aiwaves and the chicks had bushy big hairdos. The "workout "craze was pushed by celebrities like Jane Fonda, Arnold Schwarzenegger and since Sylvester Stallone was every girls heartthrob the guys all wanted to be Rambo! Oh the eighties ! What a party!

The sounds of the turbo’s over runs and the pops and bang up into Druids echoing through the trees, and standing on the bridge going down the back straight feeling it lift and shake as the turbulence off the cars wings hit it are great memories. In fact most forms of TV coverage of auto racing could learn a thing or two from you about filming for action and speed! The overuse of long lenses and and too little car noise on the audio has made modern racing on TV BORING.

    Thanks for sharing this incredible footage, Barry. I'm in the process of building a model of Senna's 1984 Toleman for my channel. Would it be OK for me to use a couple of clips of Senna from your video please? I'd give full credit in both the video itself and the description.

    After listening to this a few times, I do notice something. Arnoux's Ferrari sounds very different to Alboreto's, exhaust? Firing order? Any ideas guys?

    • @BarryPrice1959
      @BarryPrice1959  9 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Alboreto's Ferrari does sound different....this was a test day so they could have been running different exhaust's or engine set up.....Arnoux's sounds a bit rough in comparison with Alboreto's.......who knows what they were testing during the day.

    • @ShmuelWeintraub
      @ShmuelWeintraub 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Around this time (84/85) I know Ferrari were experimenting with a four turbo v6. As far as I know, it never left the factory test circuit, but I could be wrong on that.

    • @chunder27
      @chunder27 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@ShmuelWeintraub if you listen to Arnoux, his car sounds completely different to Alboreto, like a different firing order, it actually sounds like a V12 but I doubt that, probably a weird exhaust or turbo config, this was still he old engine with the turbos on top like Pironi and Villeneuve, so clearly different, it does sound like no other V6 turbo I have heard from that era though.
